The little boy obediently nodded.
Cornelia pinched the little boyâs cheek, âGood boy!â
The little boy asked, âWill he bully you?â
Cornelia asked. âWhy would you ask that?â
The little boy said, âBecause my dad often bullies my mom. I donât want him to bully you.â
Cornelia seemed to understand the little boyâs concern. To reassure him, she immediately hooked her arm through Marcusâ, âHeâs my husband. He loves me. He will protect me and he wonât bully me.â
The little boy looked at Marcus again, seemingly waiting for his response.

The little boy said, âThen I like you!â
Cornelia said, âI like him too.â
