Chapter 939
Clair was livid. She grabbed whatever was close and hurled it all at Natalia As she did, she screamed her head off âNatalia, Iâve been treating you like a god all these years and look at what youâve given me in telling you, your marriage isnât up to you, whether you like it or not, you have to marry Marcus.â
Seeing the unhinged Clau, Natalia felt a sense of satisfaction. She knew exactly what would tick Clair off, and said it anyway. âMarcus isnât someone you can just band off to me!
That line undoubtedly added fuel to the fire Clair grabbed the nearest thing and smashed it towards Nataliaâs head. With a loud crash, a cut opened on Nataliaâs forehead, blood spreading quickly, blooming like a rose.
This sight brought some sanity back to the raging Clair, and she put on her loving mother act again. âNatalia, I didnât mean to hurt you! I was just really angry Your forehead is bleeding, let me help you clean it up, okay?â
Natalia sneered. âYou already hit me, and this isnât the first time youâve done this. Donât bother apologizing. I donât want your act anymore.â
âNatalia, what are you talking about? How could you talk like that?â Clair approached Natalia, trying to wipe the blood off her forehead.
Natalia pushed Clairâs hand away and glared at her. âBack off! And donât touch me! I donât want to see you or anyone from the Reese family again!
Nataliaâs rejection pissed Clair off even more. âNatalia, do you know who youâre talking to? Do you realize what youâre saying?â
Natalia decided sheâd had enough I know exactly what Iâm saying! Iâm sick of you, sick of everyone in the Reese familyâ¦â
Clai slapped Nataliaâs face hard again âSeems like I spoilt you too much before. Youâve become too wilful. From now on, stay in your room and think about what youâve done wrong. Donât you dare step out of this room without my permission.â
Natalia retorted, âEven before this, I wasnât allowed to leave my room freely.â
They kept her locked up for days. She could leave her room, but not the Reese mansion. She felt like a bird trapped in a cage, not only robbed of her freedom, but now they wanted to clip her wings.
Clair couldnât accept this disobedient Natalia. âDid Cornelia say something to you? Is she trying to drive a wedge between us? Natalia, Iâm your mother, no one in this world loves you more than I do. But you choose to believe a stranger over me. Iâm truly disappointed in you!â
Clair tried to play her old tricks again, but this time, Natalia was completely immune.
âYou never treated me as a person, and now you want to pin the blame on Cornelia. Cornelia never tried to ruin our relationship. Because she doesnât give a damn about you, youâre not worth her effortâ
For the first time, Clair couldnât refute Natalia and stormed off in a huff. When she reached the ground floor, she called for the butler. âI need to take a trip. I might be gone for a few days. While Iâm gone, take good care of Ms. Reese. She hasnât been feeling well lately, and she needs to rest in her room. Make sure she doesnât leave. Sheâs been thinking of dieting, so only serve her one meal a day. She wants vegetarian, and you need to control her portion.â
Although she said it was for dieting, the butler knew better. It was just another scheme to starve Natalia, and this wasnât the first time it happened.
