Chapter 883
Cornelia first moved her grandmaâs urn into the room, found a place for it, then started to tidy up
At that moment, some people arrived one after another outside the apartment and asked, âAre you Mr. Artis?â
Marcus answered. Thatâs me.â
The one who appeared to be in charge said, âWe are the staff of the housekeeping company and we are now at your serviceâ
Marcus turned to Cornelia and said, âCornelia, what things do you think need to be cleaned? Fit have them take care of itâ
Cornelia replied, âEverything in the living room is junk that Robison dumped there. Have them take it all out.â
Marcus then instructed them, âClear out everything in the living roomâ
With all hands on deck from the cleaning service, the mess in the living room was quickly cleared out, providing them with a space to settle in.
Cornelia asked Marcus. âWhen did you call the domestic service?â
Marcus answered, âWhen you went downstairsâ
Cornelia continued. âHow did you know there was stuff to clean up?â
Marcus tousled her hair lightly and said, âThe house has been empty for quite a while. It definitely needed a cleanâup I just wanted someone to do the cleaning didnât expect they could double as movers.â
Cornelia then said, âRobison was a child my grandma adopted. She always treated him like her own son, but he was ungrateful and awful to her. When she fell ill, he didnât lift a finger to help her, even wanted her money. She was so angry, she cut ties with him. She wanted me to sell this house, but I didnât because it was her home. I didnât expect it to be taken over by that couple.â
Marcus comforted her, saying, âDonât worry, I wonât let them win.â
Just then, the sound of Robison wailing came from the doorway, âMom⦠your death was so tragic! You bitch, my mom was doing fine, then you took her out, and now you bring back her ashes. What did you do to her?â
Robison brought a whole crew with him, obviously here to raise hell, âWho opened the door? Who moved my stuff out? These are precious treasures, you wonât be able to afford them if anything goes missingâ
Cristina also stamed wailing, âMom, your death was so tragic. You were fine when you went out with her, but a few months later, youâre reduced to ashes. Cornelia, you ungrateful wretch, what did you do to your grandma for her inheritance?â
Cornelia gave Marcus a wry smile, âLooks like youâll have to step in again.â
Marcus pulled Cornelia into his arms, holding her tight, saying. âLet me deal with those two. Stay inside.â
Cornelia replied, âI can handle them with legal measuresâ
Marcus answered, âLegal measures might not work on such shameless people. You might need something more direct.â
Cornelia said worriedly, âJust donât get hurt.â
Marcus reassured her, âI wonât.â
Granny Luisa chimed in, âNelly, you probably donât know this, but Marc has been learning Taekwondo since he was a kid. Heâs quite a pro now. He can handle himselfâ
Cornelia asked, âMarc knows Taekwondo?â
She had been by Marcusâ side all this time, but had no idea he was a martial arts pro. No wonder he handled that guy who tried to bully her so smoothly last time.
Granny Luisa continued, âMarc has many skills, youâll get to know him better over time. The more you know about him, the more youâll like him.â
Marcus interrupted Granny Luisa, âYou and Bri take Cornelia back to her room. Iâll handle the situation outside.â
Granny Luisa, âAlright, dear.â
