Chapter 791
Hannah said, âDonât ask me, I really have no idea. Seems like a lot of people in my fan club are loaded I heard the ones who splurge are mostly rich kids or bored wealthy wivesâ
Rosie said, âThere was a time when I was totally nuts about a celebrity, shelling out big bucks every day on his endorsed products. Right when I was on al roll, Lucas found out He thought I had a sugar daddy on the side and, in a huff, cut off my credit card felt so wronged but couldnât explain.â
Cornelia asked, âHow much did you blow on that guy?â
Hannah said, âLet me guess, at least a few hundred grand, right?â
Rosie said. âTwo million! I was planning to finance a movie with him as the lead, but it never worked.â
Cornelia thought to herself, these rich people, money really did burn a hole in their pockets. They could do so much with two million.
Hannah asked, âWhoâs the celeb? Do I know him?â
Rosie said, âLetâs not talk about it. Heâs doing okay now, and I donât want to rain on his parade.â
Hannah changed the subject, âLetâs not gossip about others. Letâs talk about newlywed Cornelia and President Hartley.â She then asked Cornelia, âAnything about President Hartley that irks you, Cornelia?â
Without hesitation, Cornelia said, âNope.â
In Corneliaâs eyes, Marcus was perfect.
Hannah and Rosie both exclaimed, âNone?â
Cornelia looked puzzled, âDoes there have to be? In my eyes, my hubby is really awesome.â
Rosie said, âThink harder. Thereâs bound to be something that bugs you.â
Cornelia said, âAs a couple, we should be lenient with each otherâs flaws.â
Hannah said, âYou gotta think of one, or else we canât continue this chat.â
Cornelia pondered, âIf I really have to pick one, itâd be that heâs a tad possessive. He can get jealous of anyone, even my good friend Zack.â
Hannah said, âMen are just overly possessive. They canât stand their wives even glancing at other men.â
Rosie agreed wholeheartedly. âAbsolutelyâ
Cornelia had her own thoughts, âI think not only men are possessive, we women are the same. Would you like your husband ogling other women? I donât. know about you, but I definitely wouldnât like it. If he was checking out other women, Iâd be green with envy.â
Rosie said, âCornelia, did your boyfriend brainwash you? Why are there no flaws in him in your eyes? Heâs handsome, has a great body, is filthy rich, and has an impeccable character. How are the rest of us supposed to live? Everyone says nobodyâs perfect. Didnât God leave him with any flaws?â
Hannah laughed, âMaybe thatâs what they call love. It blinds you to flaws.â
Cornelia didnât say anything. She finally thought of the flaw God had given Marcus to make him less than perfect.
It was a flaw connected to his pride, and she couldnât just blurt it out, âItâs getting late, letâs go eat. We can chat more after dinner. Iâm free tonight anywayâ
Hannah sprawled on the couch, âIâm not hungry, donât feel like eating.â
