Comelia’s question caught him off guard, but Marcus understood her meaning. “Why would I stop you? Whatever you want to do, as long as you’re up for it, go for it without a second thought.”

As long as her safety wasn’t at risk, he would support whatever she wanted to do; no matter what kind of mess she made, he would clean up for her.

Cornelia asked, “How much did you fork over to the people of Marina Cove to smooth over the punching incident?”

Marcus replied, “I merely gave out the mid–year bonuses early.”

Cornelia, “Really?”

Marcus, “Yep.”

Cornella, “Do you know how much it hurt me when I heard you distributed a ton of money to the villagers?”

Marcus smirked and patted her head, “I’m a businessman, not a fool.”

Who said he wasn’t a fool?

When she got into a brawl, he didn’t stop her but secretly sent someone to clean up her mess. If that was not what a fool would do, then what was? And he had the nerve to say he was not one.

Cornelia nestled into his chest, nuzzling him slightly, “In the future, when I act impulsively, you have to stop me.”

Marcus hugged her closer, gently patting her back, “Sure.”

“Granny, Cornelia, brother… Briana, upon hearing the news, immediately dropped everything and rushed over.

Seeing Briana sweating bullets, Cornelia immediately took out a tissue from her bag to wipe her sweat, “You ran too hard. Look at you, all worn out.”

Briana, “I’m worried about Granny Rebecca. Cornelia, she will be okay, right?”

Comelia, “Yep, she’ll be fine.”

Zack looked at Briana, “Briana? Briana? Are you Marcus‘ sister?”

Hearing her name, Briana immediately turned around, “Zack? Zack, what are you doing here?”

Comelia, “When did you two meet?”

Briana, “We bonded over comics, we’ve been online buddies for two or three years. Recently, when I returned to Riverton, he mentioned that he was also in Riverton, so we met up and had a great chat.”

Zack excitedly replied, “Comelia and I go way back. We grew up together.”
