Chapter 620
Tve told you time and again, if you really like someone, you gotta chase her fearlessly. But if she gives you the cold shoulder, you gotta stop bugging her, and certainly not do something as appalling as todayâ
Cameron asked, âDad, what are you doing?â
Granger raised his hand and stapped Cameron, with such force that a clear handprint appeared on Cameronâs face.
Again, Cameron asked, âDad, whatâs wrong with you?â
Granger yelled, âYou moron! Youâre grown up and youâre still pulling such bonehead moves. Apologize to Ms. Stewart right now and beg her forgivenessâ
Cameron started. âDadâ
Granger slapped him again, âI said apologize!â
He leaned into Cameron, lowering his voice, âCornelia may have already slept with Marcus⦠This could have serious repercussions. Apologize to her now, and weâll settle the score with her after Marcus ditches herâ
Cameron didnât fancy apologizing to an assistant, but he had no choice now that his own father was demanding it, âMs. Stewart, Iâm sorry. I shouldnât have believed that woman and misunderstood you I hope you can be magnanimous and not hold it against me.â
The woman in black standing nearby looked flabbergasted. It was him who had asked her to slander Cornelia, but now it was being pinned on her.
The woman in black never imagined that even worse things were waiting for her.
Granger said, âAlthough you were misled, you are also at fault⦠Sir, this woman has a history of misdeeds, and I have evidence. You can take her awayâ
The woman in black was staring in disbelief at the father and son duo. Were they actually abandoning her?
âGranger, you.â
Granger said, âDonât worry, Iâll take care of your family and children.â
It was an outright threat
The woman in black was left speechless.
Those who danced with wolves, always ended up in the wolvesâ belly. She was case in point.
Not only did Cameron apologize to Cornelia, but Clair also showed up.
She admitted, âI apologize, everyone. This necklace Iâm holding isnât real, but a knockoff I paid to have made. I even lied and said it was a birthday gift from my husband. Iâm
sorryâ¦â
Whatever they were saying. Cornelia had no mind to listen anymore.
She looked up, scanning the room, and her eyes fell on a dark corner where she saw Marcusâ tall figure.
There was no light there, and Cornelia couldnât see his face, but he could see her clearly.
Her private cell phone received a message. It was from Jeremy.
Donât be scared! Iâm here!â¦.
