Chapter 457
Briana said, âNatalia, my brother is already hitchedâ
Natalia interrupted her, her voice shaking with emotion, âShe just hit the jackpot, got picked by your Granny to marry Marc. But Marc doesnât love her one bit.â Briana said, âYouâre not Marcus, how do you know whether he loves his wife or not?â
Natalia said. âThe other night you told me, you said Marc and his wife havenât done the deed yet. If a man doesnât want to sleep with a woman, thereâs only one reason he doesnât love her.â
Briana said, âYou actually bought my baloney?â
Natalia couldnât care less about whether it was baloney or not, âThat woman canât even get Marc interested Marc doesnât want to sleep with her, and youâre still against me marrying Mare Do you want the Hartley family to die out or something?â
âNatalia, please stop Marcus really cares about his wife, itâs just Briana was getting desperate. She should have never drank with Natalia. She spilled everything when she was drunk, just like a fool.
Natalia asked, âWhat?â
Briana said, âJust keep your mouth shut.â
Marcusâs wife was still around. She couldnât just blurt things out. If she found out, she might want to divorce Marcus. And if Marcus found out it was her who spilled the beans, he was gonna blame her for sure.
Natalia said, âBriana, thereâs no love between Marc and his wife Theyâre not gonna be happy. Let Marc break free from this dull marriage and accept a woman who truly loves him. Not only would I be satisfied, it would be good for Marc too.â
Briana said with certainty, âMarc values his marriage a lot. Heâs never thought about betraying it, and he likes his wife.â
Yes, he did like his wife. Marc was much nicer to his wife than to her.
Natalia said. âHe likes her but keeps his distance? Whoâd believe that? Cornelia, do you?â
This was between Marcus and his wife. Cornelia shouldnât voice her opinion and remained silent.
Fearing that Cornelia might get the wrong impression if she found out the truth, Briana quickly said, âMarc doesnât keep his distance from his wife. He wants to get close but he canât Marcus may have some sort of illness.â
âHuh?â Cornelia choked on her tea
President Hartley had some sort of illness! Was this secret something she as an assistant should know? She didnât want to hear it. She was afraid of being blamed by Marcus
âBriana, should I step out so you two can chat?â The more she knew, the more risk of being blamed by Marcus. So Cornelia wanted to leave.
âCornelia, you canât leave.â Before she could finish, Briana couldnât let Cornelia leave, âIm all for Marc and his wife. I wonât allow Natalia to mess with their marriage.â
Cornelia tugged at Brianaâs hand, but couldnât pull away. She helplessly said, âBri, itâs no use talking to me about this. You should talk to Marcusâs wife.â
Briana holding onto Cornelia tightly said, âI donât care, I just want you to trust me!â
Corneliaâs wrist was hurting from Branaâs grip. âOf course I trust you. Can you let go of me first?â
Briana said. âThen you canât leave.â
Cornelia said, âFine, I wonât leave â
Natalia said, âCornelia, as a bystander, do you think Iâm right?â
Comelia said, âYouâre better off not hearing my opinion, Iâm afraid itâll only make you more pissed offâ
