Chapter 429
Abigail suddenly blurted out, âMan, no matter how many comics like this we sell, weâll never make as much dough as him.â
Comelia and Zack followed Abigailâs gaze and saw Marcus and Leonardo approaching from a distance.
Leonardo spotted them too and waved at Comelia from afar, âMs. Stewart, itâs been a while, missed me?â
âCan I say no?â Comelia was used to being respectful in front of Marcus. Even though she was off work, she walked towards him, âPresident Hartley, here to check out the renovations too?â
âYep.â Marcus answered softly, not revealing that he came on purpose knowing sheâd be here tonight to see her new apartment. To make this âcoincidenceâ more convincing, he had brought Leonardo along.
Marcus didnât want to say much, but Leonardo couldnât help but spill the beans, âMarcus shouldnât need to bother with renovations. But heâs here because his wife likes this place, so he dragged me along to buy a few apartments. Funny, isnât it? Marcus, who never gave a damn about women, suddenly so whipped by his wife?â
Hearing this, Corneliaâs eyes lit up, âPresident Hartley, does that mean Iâll meet your wife soon?â
Marcus looked at her. Her eyes were already beautiful, but now they sparkled under the lights, as bright as the stars, âYouâre that eager to meet my wife?â
Cornelia nodded right away. âIâve been working with you for a year, but Iâve never met your wife. Of course, I want to meet her.â
Marcus chuckled, âGive it some time, Iâll introduce you guys.â
Cornelia said, âOkay.â
Abigail also came over, âPresident Hartley, long time no see, remember me?â
âAbigail, hi.â Marcus remembered her because she was Corneliaâs friend.
âPresident Hartley remembers me!â Abigail pinched Cornelia in excitement, âPresident Hartley, we three were planning to grab a bite after checking the renovations. Wanna join?â
âWe also planned to eat out after this, my treat.â Marcus said.
Abigail asked, âPresident Hartley, can we pick the place?â
âSure.â Marcus didnât take his eyes off Cornelia, âCornelia, see you in a bit.â
He meant she had to go.
âOkay.â Watching him walk away, Cornelia felt a little deflated. She was with him all day, and now she had to have dinner with him? Couldnât he give her, his assistant, some free time?
Zack whispered, âIâm not going, no matter what.â
Abigail grabbed him by the neck, âNelly and I are going, youâre not? Are you sure?â
Zack said, âNelly, canât you just say no to that man?â
