Chapter 38
Marcus said âShe doesnât wanna sign? Who does she think she is?â
Ryan replied. âItâs not that she doesnât wanna sign, she just doesnât wanna pay that 100k for mental distressâ
Marcus could make that woman sign, but since she was introduced by his grandma, he just wanted to get rid of the disgusting woman who betrayed him as soon as possible. âForget about the compensationâ
As soon as Marcus let it go, Ryan immediately had a new divorce agreement printed and handed it to Cornelia, Ms. Stewart, please have a look again.â
His attitude was much better this time.
After carefully reading the agreement, Cornelia signed her name and pressed her fingerprint where needed, âIs there anything else I need to do?â
Seeing her actually sign, Ryan found it unbelievable, âDo you even know what your husband does?â
Cornelia replied, âWhat does it have to do with me?â
Ryan was thrilled, she really didnât know Marcusâs identity. He would tell her the truth after their divorce and make her regret it.
Ryan took the signed divorce agreement and said with a bit of schadenfreude, âLeave the rest to us, just go to the Civil Affairs Bureau with Jeremy to process the divorce in a month.â
Cornelia knew about the oneâmonth coolingâoff period for divorce, âAlright, Iâll wait for your notice.
As soon as Ryan left, Zack and Abigail rushed over, âOur Nelly is awesome, she was so calm facing someone like Ryan. The way you talked back to him felt so satisfyingâ
Cornelia laughed, âYou guys should know who Iâve been dealing with every day.â
Abigail also laughed, âDoes being close to Marcus make you stronger?â
Zack said, âLetâs go, letâs have a good meal.â
The three of them happily went to a restaurant, and she did not affected by the divorce at all
After getting Corneliaâs signature, Ryan hurried to Marcusâs place.
But he was ten minutes late.
Seeing that he had completed the task well, Marcus didnât hold it against him.
Ryan continued to engage in conversation by Marcusâ side, commenting, âMarc, your wife is undeniably stunning. Itâs unfortunate that she has been taken by another man. However, I must say sheâs quite resilient as well. She managed to maintain her composure when I probed her.â
Marcus ignored him, looking at the word âCorneliaâ on the divorce agreement. The signature was so different from his assistant Corneliaâs
He handed the divorce agreement back to Ryan, âFinish this as soon as possibleâ
Ryan said, âIâve done everything I can, you just need to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau in a month to process the divorce with her.â
âAnother month?â Marcus had never thought about getting a divorce before, so he hadnât paid attention to the news about it.
Now he didnât want to wait any longer and wished he could process the divorce right away.
If he could let someone else do it, Marcus would even ask someone to help him with the divorce, because the more he looked at that woman, the more he worried it would affect his mood.
Ryan smiled. âThe divorce is already halfway done, no need to rush.â
