Chapter 1422
He became a stranger⦠again.
Once he decided to divorce her and successfully did so, she indeed became nothing more than a stranger to him.
Hannah, âMr. Dixonâ¦â
Steven, âYeah, Hannah. Iâm here.â
Hannah, âYour name is Steven, right?â
Stevenâs eyes lit up. âYes, do you remember me?â
Hannah, âIâm sorry, I donât remember anything about you.â
Steven walked up to Hannah and took her hand. âLook at me, Hannah. I believe you can remember me.â
i
Hannah tried to pull her hand back but was too weak from just waking up. Her eyes were filled with anger, and she looked like a defenseless creature that had been wronged, âGosh, you are so rude. Weâre not even close, so can you stop grabbing my hand? And I seriously donât get it, why do I feel so uncomfortable around you. Can you stop showing up in front of me?â
Steven was at a loss for words. âHannah, Jarvis is just some guy you just met. You guys have nothing between you. I am your real
manâ¦â
Hannah stared at him with her bright beautiful eyes. âWhat the heck are you talking about? I donât understand a-single word.â
Steven, âYouâ¦â
Her response was like a punch to a sponge, her soft demeanor making it impossible for him to lash out.
âI just woke up, and my headâs all fuzzy. I need some peace and quiet to think, so could you please leave?â Hannah remained polite despite Stevenâs agitation.
âHannahâ¦â Steven struggled to keep his anger in check. âThink carefully. My name is Steven, and weâve been living together for years.â
Hannah, âI donât know you. How could we possibly have lived together?â
Steven, âIâm your husband.â
Hannah, âLiar! Youâre a liar! Iâve never been married. How could I possibly have a husband.â
Steven, âIâ¦â
If they hadnât divorced, he could show her their marriage certificate, definitively telling her that she was his wife and he was her husband. But all he had now was their divorce certificate.
Hannah, âCan you leave now?â
Steven didnât want to leave, not for a second.
Hannah put her hand on her forehead. âMy head hurts. Can you please call the doctor?â
Steven, âAlright, Iâll call the doctor right away.â He was so rushed that he forgot there was a call button by the bed. He quickly dashed out of the room, shouting down the hallway, âDoctor, nurse, my wife has woken up. Can you come over quickly?â
My wife?
Upon hearing this, Hannah snorted with disdain. Her indifferent look vanished by the time Steven turned back to look at her.
The doctors and nurses arrived promptly. They performed a full body check on Hannah.
After the checkup, everyone left the room with Steven. The doctor said, âPresident Dixon, as long as Mrs. Dixon wakes up and regains consciousness, there should be no major problems. Regarding her legs, after a period of recovery, she should be able to stand and walk.â
Steven asked, âShe doesnât remember me, and you still say thereâs no major problem?â
The doctor replied, âMrs. Dixon has amnesia? She didnât suffer any head injuries, and the probability of amnesia is very small in theory.â
