Chapter 1309
Grandpa Augustine said, âTalk is cheap, mate. You gotta show us the goods.â
Justin replied, âWell, you could ask Ms. Stewart if she remembers a bloke named Justin. If she does, thatâs peachy. If not, just remind her that I used to be her shrink.â
Watching the way this guy carried himself, he didnât seem like a con artist. Grandpa Augustine pondered for a moment, âPlease wait a moment.â
Grandpa Augustine rushed to Corneliaâs room upstairs. Not long after, he hurried back to the living room, followed by Abigail and Zack. They eyed Justin intensely, hoping to read him like a book.
Grandpa Augustine said, âDr. Terrel, Cornelia wants to see you upstairs.â
Justin asked, âDoes Ms. Stewart remember me?â
Grandpa Augustine answered, âDid you help her with some mental issues? Why did she ask for you the moment I mentioned your name?â
Justin replied, âI canât say. Gotta respect patient confidentiality.â

Grandpa Augustine commanded, âThen get going. And remember to spill the beans when you come back.â
Justin asked, âArenât you coming?â
Grandpa Augustine replied, âShe only wants to see you.â Cornelia not only kicked him out but also Zack and Abigail. She didnât even let them eavesdrop.
Justin said, âAlright, Iâm heading up.â
Grandpa Augustine reminded, âRemember to share what you guys talked about.â
Justin replied, âIf Ms. Stewart wanted to keep our conversation under wraps, she wouldnât have asked you to stay away. Soâ¦â
Grandpa Augustine waved his hand impatiently, âAlright, I get it. Just go. If you can crack Nellyâs case, Iâll give you an extra 100 grand.â
Justin grinned but kept mum. In reality, a shrink of Justinâs caliber had a lot of people willing to pay big bucks for his services, but he wasnât out to make a quick buck from everyone. If it werenât for Marcus, he wouldnât have hopped on a plane for over ten hours for a mere hundred or two hundred grand.
Justin arrived upstairs to find Cornelia already seated on the couch, a smile on her face, âDr. Terrel, long time no see.â
Justin echoed, âLong time no see.â
Cornelia asked, âCan you really cure me?â
Justin replied, âI didnât have a clue before I saw you. But now that I have, Iâm quite confident.â
Cornelia asked, âWhat?â
Justin added, âWeâll take it slow.â
Cornelia asked, âWhat do you want to talk about?â
Justin replied, âWe can chat about anything. Work, life, relationships, you name it.â
When he mentioned work and life, Corneliaâs expression remained unchanged. Only when he mentioned ârelationshipsâ, did her expression flicker momentarily. Justin noticed and made a mental note, but didnât say a word.
Cornelia chuckled, âHow come the weather in the Capital dropped so suddenly? Just a couple days ago it was sunny and I was in a tee, now I gotta bundle up in down jackets.
Justin replied, âThatâs Capital weather for you. Once it hits October, it gets chilly in the blink of an eye, not giving you a chance to transition from fall to winter.â
Cornelia asked, âDr. Terrel, where are you from?â
Justin replied, âIâm from Harbor City. Iâm pretty tight with Steven.â
Cornelia only replied with a noncommittal grunt, seeming not too intrigued by the topic of Steven.
