Chapter 1247
Hannah said. âI know you want me to use my influence to encourage more girls to stand up against anything that violates their rights. Iâm stoked I can make a difference and help more girls. But I also want to do more than thatâ
Cornelia replied, âAlright, if I ever need any help. Iâll come to youâ
Hannah insisted, âYou betterâ
Cornelia nodded, âI promiseâ
They clinked their glasses together Hannah continued, âNelly, the house that Steven and I used to live in is now mine. I know heâs worried his exâgirlfriend might be green with envy, and to show his loyalty, he wonât keep anything that Iâve touchedâ
âYou guys were together for ages, itâs only right that he left you the house. You should just keep it, donât overthink.â Cornelia advised.
Hannah gave a bitter laugh, âNeither Steven nor I want it. I donât want to live in that house anymore. Itâs not easy to go back there and be reminded of my past with Steven. I think the best thing to do is to sell that house and buy a new one. I have no family in Harbor City, nothing holds me there, and what matters to me is here in Riverton. So, I plan to buy a house here. You know the place better, can you help me check out some properties?â
âBuying a house ainât a small deal Youâre thinking of moving all the way from Harbor City to Riverton. You gotta think it throughâ Cornelia suggested.
Hannah said, âIâve already thought it through. Iâm buying a house in Riverton. If I want to have afternoon tea, I can just call you to come over.â
Cornelia nodded, âAlright, Iâll keep an eye out. Let me know what youâre looking for in a house.
âThe only thing Iâm looking for is privacy. As an actress, there are always people trying to sneak pictures. If the community management is lax, my life could be exposed.â
Hannah said
The best place for privacy that came to Corneliaâs mind was Blueshell Mansion. She used to work for Marcus and visited Blueshell Mansion often. She knew that the residents would have to go through facial recognition.
If they couldnât prove that they were a homeowner or a visitor confirmed by the homeowner, theyâd be turned away of course, Blueshell Mansion was pretty pricey, but for Hannah, it was definitely within her budget.
Cornelia said, âHave you heard of Blueshell Mansion? The property management there is top notch. Theyâre strict about who comes and goes, and no unauthorized person can get in.â
Hannah said, âNot only have I heard of it, but Steven and I also visited there. The place is awesome, itâs a large flat with a sea view, and the distance between buildings is substantial. Itâs a great choice, but the price is skyâhigh.â
âThatâs alright, there are certainly more costâeffective options. Iâll keep an eye out for you.â Cornelia reassured Hannah, patting her on the shoulder.
Hannah confidently placed her hands on her hips and said, âWhat are we waiting for? Letâs finish our drinks and go house hunting. If we like something, weâll buy it. The only thing I donât lack right now is money.â
âAre you sure you donât want to think it over?â Cornelia worried she might be rash.
Hannah responded, âNelly, donât worry about me. Iâm worth a fortune right now, and the cost of a house is just the fee for one of my films. Plus, the super expensive house Steven gave me, itâs like an even exchange. I donât even have to pay out of my pocketâ
Cornelia refilled their glasses and said, âIâm not talking about the money.â
âThen what are you talking about? Steven?â Hannah asked.
Cornelia nodded, âYour thing with President Dixon, I donât really know the details. I canât advise you to be with him or to break up with him. I just want to tell you to think it
over.â
