Chapter 1196
That night, Cornelia had a rough time sleeping. The moment she shut her eyes, she was off to dreamland and her dreams were all over the place.
When she woke up in the morning, she found Marcus had already gone to work. And when Marcus got busy, days just few by
One day, while Comelia was at home doodling comics, she heard a car pulling up outside She rushed out to greet them and was surprised to find not only Marcus, but also Tahlia. It had been a while since she last saw Tahlia and she was pretty stoked, âTahlia, youâre here.â
Tahlia trotted over to Cornelia, âHey Nelly, good afternoon.â
Cornelia asked, âHowâs work going lately?â
âGoes well.â Tahlia replied
Marcus didnât even glance at Comelia. He walked straight into the house, âShow me the plan again.â
âSureâ Tahlia let go of Comeliaâs hand, âNelly, Iâve gotta work with President Hartley first, we can catch up laterâ
âAlright, go aheadâ Cornelia smiled, âWhat would you like to drink? Ill get it readyâ
âIâm good with anythingâ Tahlia followed Marcus into the study.
Cornelia didnât continue her drawing Instead, she went to the kitchen and prepared two drinks, one coffee, Marcusâ favorite, and one passion fruit lemonade, Tahliaâs favonte. The coffee was freshly ground by Cornelia and tailored to Marcusâ taste. The passion fruit lemonade was freshly squeezed by her. She knew Tahlia liked it sweet, so she added some honey.
Once everything was ready, Cornelia personally delivered the drinks to the study.
Even though they were married, Cornelia knew to respect personal space, so she didnât just walk in. Instead, she knocked on the door and only entered when Marcus said she could
âI brought you guys some drinks.â Comelia said.
But Marcus and Tahlia seemed to not notice Cornelia. Marcus was looking at some documents, and Tahlia was helping him flip through, their faces so close they could feel
each otherâs breath.
Cornelia remembered, when she and Marcus were still unaware of each otherâs identity, they never got this close at work. For some reason, Cornelia didnât really like this She pushed the coffee next to Marcus. âYour coffee.â
Marcus nodded, âHmmâ
Tahlia looked up at Cornelia, âThanks, Nelly!â
Then, she went back to working with Marcus.
Cornelia wanted to say something, but she didnât want to disturb their work, so she quietly left.
Downstairs, Patricia noticed Corneliaâs mood, looking upstairs, âNelly, whatâs wrong?â
âNothingâ Cornelia sat back at the bar, opened her tablet, picked up her stylus, and continued her drawing âPatricia, President Hartley is still busy, could you prepare some fruits and snacks for them?
âSure.â Patricia responded
Cornelia immersed herself in her drawing.
After a while, Patricia, who had just delivered the fruits and snacks, approached Cornelia, âNellyâ
âHmm?â Cornelia didnât look up, just replied.
Patricia hesitated, then asked, âArenât you worried?
Cornelia looked up. âWorried about what?â
Patricia looked upstairs, âArenât you worried that Jeremy might be taken by another woman?â
Cornelia laughed, âIâm not worriedâ
âAre you really not worried? Patricia asked again.
âI trust him, he wonât fall for other women.â Cornelia replied.
Patricia said, âNo matter how good Jeremy is, heâs still a man. Men, you know, they can be fickle. Be careful, donât regret it when heâs taken by someone else.â
âIf he can be so easily taken by someone else, then heâs not the Jeremy I know Whatâs the point of wanting him then?â Cornelia said.
