Chapter 1196

That night, Cornelia had a rough time sleeping. The moment she shut her eyes, she was off to dreamland and her dreams were all over the place.

When she woke up in the morning, she found Marcus had already gone to work. And when Marcus got busy, days just few by

One day, while Comelia was at home doodling comics, she heard a car pulling up outside She rushed out to greet them and was surprised to find not only Marcus, but also Tahlia. It had been a while since she last saw Tahlia and she was pretty stoked, “Tahlia, you’re here.”

Tahlia trotted over to Cornelia, “Hey Nelly, good afternoon.”

Cornelia asked, “How’s work going lately?”

“Goes well.” Tahlia replied

Marcus didn’t even glance at Comelia. He walked straight into the house, “Show me the plan again.”

“Sure” Tahlia let go of Comelia’s hand, “Nelly, I’ve gotta work with President Hartley first, we can catch up later”

“Alright, go ahead” Cornelia smiled, “What would you like to drink? Ill get it ready”

“I’m good with anything” Tahlia followed Marcus into the study.

Cornelia didn’t continue her drawing Instead, she went to the kitchen and prepared two drinks, one coffee, Marcus‘ favorite, and one passion fruit lemonade, Tahlia’s favonte. The coffee was freshly ground by Cornelia and tailored to Marcus‘ taste. The passion fruit lemonade was freshly squeezed by her. She knew Tahlia liked it sweet, so she added some honey.

Once everything was ready, Cornelia personally delivered the drinks to the study.

Even though they were married, Cornelia knew to respect personal space, so she didn’t just walk in. Instead, she knocked on the door and only entered when Marcus said she could

“I brought you guys some drinks.” Comelia said.

But Marcus and Tahlia seemed to not notice Cornelia. Marcus was looking at some documents, and Tahlia was helping him flip through, their faces so close they could feel

each other’s breath.

Cornelia remembered, when she and Marcus were still unaware of each other’s identity, they never got this close at work. For some reason, Cornelia didn’t really like this She pushed the coffee next to Marcus. “Your coffee.”

Marcus nodded, “Hmm”

Tahlia looked up at Cornelia, “Thanks, Nelly!”

Then, she went back to working with Marcus.

Cornelia wanted to say something, but she didn’t want to disturb their work, so she quietly left.

Downstairs, Patricia noticed Cornelia’s mood, looking upstairs, “Nelly, what’s wrong?”

“Nothing” Cornelia sat back at the bar, opened her tablet, picked up her stylus, and continued her drawing “Patricia, President Hartley is still busy, could you prepare some fruits and snacks for them?

“Sure.” Patricia responded

Cornelia immersed herself in her drawing.

After a while, Patricia, who had just delivered the fruits and snacks, approached Cornelia, “Nelly”

“Hmm?” Cornelia didn’t look up, just replied.

Patricia hesitated, then asked, “Aren’t you worried?

Cornelia looked up. “Worried about what?”

Patricia looked upstairs, “Aren’t you worried that Jeremy might be taken by another woman?”

Cornelia laughed, “I’m not worried”

“Are you really not worried? Patricia asked again.

“I trust him, he won’t fall for other women.” Cornelia replied.

Patricia said, “No matter how good Jeremy is, he’s still a man. Men, you know, they can be fickle. Be careful, don’t regret it when he’s taken by someone else.”

“If he can be so easily taken by someone else, then he’s not the Jeremy I know What’s the point of wanting him then?” Cornelia said.
