Chapter 1154
Brian wanted to see Cornelia scared to tears.
âAlright, whatever you sayâ Cornelia said.
Just as Cornelia settled into her seat, the lights in the cinema went out and the big screen in front lit up. Suddenly, gruesome and bloody scenes appeared before Cornelia.
Alexa, who was seated behind, clutched Wyattâs hand in fear, complaining in his heart. Was Brian trying to scare Cornelia to tears or was he trying to scare him? Brian knew Alexa was terrified of such movies, yet he still made him watch it in this spooky environment.
Wyatt said, âAlexa, buck up. Look at Cornelia up front. She hasnât moved an inch
Alexa retorted, âCould she be frozen in fear? Too scared to even move? Or maybe sheâs got her eyes shut, too scared to watch.â
If that was the case, then the movie was a complete waste.
Alexa and Wyatt, hand in hand, stood up to check if Cornelia was too scared to open her eyes. A quick glance revealed that Cornelia wasnât too scared to open her eyes. On the contrary, her eyes were wide open, glued to the big screen.
Alexa followed Corneliaâs gaze and immediately withdrew at the horrifying sight, âIs Cornelia even human? Why isnât she scared at all?â
Wyatt added, Iâm having doubts that sheâs human too.â
As Alexa was about to say something, a heavy hand landed on his shoulder, causing him to scream, âGhost!â
Brian said, âItâs just me. Whereâs the ghost?â
Alexa retorted, âAre you trying to scare me to death?â
Brian said, âYou two, get out. Donât ruin the mood.â
Brian thought the reason Cornelia wasnât scared was because these two kept talking. Once he got rid of them, he wanted to see if she would get scared. But even after kicking them out, Brian didnât see her looking scared. He even saw her getting comfortable, like if she had some popcorn and cola, she might even enjoy the movie.
With such a scary movie and gloomy atmosphere, even Brian was feeling a bit scared. How did Cornelia manage to not be scared at all?
Instead of seeing Cornelia scared to tears, Brian was more curious about how she could remain so calm. So, he moved up two rows to sit next to Cornelia, âArenât you scared at all?â
Cornelia, still focused on the big screen, asked, âCan someone get me some cola and popcorn? Watching a movie without them feels incomplete.â
She was actually thinking about cola and popcorn. This girl was definitely not ordinary!
Brian immediately dialed a number to have some cola and popcorn delivered.
With the cola and popcorn, Cornelia got even more engrossed in the movie.
Brian said, âIâve got your cola and popcorn. Now can you tell me how youâre not scared at all?â
Cornelia said, âBecause the movie is fake, whatâs there to be scared of?â
Brian retorted, âEveryone knows itâs fake, but youâre the only one not scared.â
Cornelia asked, âDo you really want to know?â
Brian replied, âSpill it.â
Cornelia answered, âItâs simple. Whenever a scary scene appears, donât close your eyes. Instead, open them wide and observe. Most times, our fear stems from the unknown and our own imagination. Once I see everything clearly, thereâs no room for imagination, hence, no fear
Brian believed her and turned his head to watch the big screen, focusing on every scary scene just like her.
But wait! Was this girl playing him? The bloody face on the screen was almost touching Brianâs face, how could he not be scared?
Cornelia gave a sweet smile, as sweet as honey yet as deadly as poison, âThe method I just told you only works for me. Everyone else who tried it ended up being scared half to death
Brian retorted, âWhy didnât you tell me earlier?â
Cornelia replied, âWhy would I tell you!
beforehand?â
Brian accused, âYou wanted to scare me, didnât you?â
Cornelia replied, âYouâre only realizing now?â
Hmph! She was not scared one bit. She would scare him instead!
