Some people's patience level is indeed enviable.
Take Nadir as an example of that..
He waited for me for so long despite not being even sure I would come, to be more fair and emotional, that amazing man still waited for me to come despite having to keep my mother in-law company in the process! if that's not the heart of a true gentleman then I don't know what else is more suitable to describe it.
And I mean it literally, when I left my room to look for him I had absolutely no hope in finding him, I mean who would voluntarily waste his precious youth waiting pointlessly for my highness to come except for my precious husband? Therefore I leisurely walked in the long corridor, when I chanced upon a servant walking towards the stairs I stopped her and asked:
_" Did Mr ghemmari leave the villa?"
_" I'm not sure masterlady, I was cleaning master Eliyas's library so I haven't been down to know."
I thanked her then more so leisurely I made my way down stairs, that was when the servant I've just spoken with, who of course arrived downstairs long before I did because she walked in a normal human pace, she came towards me again and said:
_" I have just inquired for you masterlady, Mr Ghemmari is still at the villa, he's currently at the guests hall with Mrs and Miss Filladi."
I headed towards them as soon as she finished talking, and when I first walked inside the guests hall Nadir's face was looking exactly like I expected it to be: showing all signs of being tortured.
As for Ines, she wasn't there like I was informed, Nadir was left alone to the old Mrs filladi's mercy.
_" How come you're here to join us now Noursine? Weren't you so ill that you couldn't even come dine with us earlier?" My mother in-law scoffed even before I walked inside properly.
Just remembering how she will be kicked out of the villa the following day because of my suggestion made me feel very satisfied as I happily sat on the sofa in front of her, still, I decided to act out of my usually calm self and felt the leisure to remind her:
_" Mother, I believe this is my house so Nadir is technically my guest, it would be unpardonable of me not to receive him properly, after all, it's the duty of the master of the house to be a good host even when receiving the heaviest and most ungrateful of guests, not to mention Nadir, who's on the contrary one of the most respectful of people."
Her face became so red of anger once I finished speaking that I already was anticipating an endless row of scalding from her, yet before she even started to speak Nadir asked me:
_" are you not feeling well Noursine?"
I looked at him feigning tiredness, then I said:
_" Yes.. A bit, I guess the fresh air of the garden will help me recover, shall we both go there instead?"
I didn't even wait for his answer as I already stood up and started walking towards the glass door leading to the garden from the guests hall.
My mother in-law, being her, couldn't not yell furiously:
_" Noursine! How dare you act so disrespectfully! What are you doing inviting your brother in-law to the garden alone in the middle of the night! You have no respect for your husband?"
_" good night mother." I carelessly replied as I opened the door and already walked out.
The autumn breeze immediately cooled my body, I was thankfully dressed enough not to feel cold, still Nadir commented once he followed me out:
_" the Night breeze became colder lately, you shouldn't come outside, especially when you're not well."
_" I'm perfectly fine Nadir, we'll go back inside if you prefer to tell me what you have to say in front of her." I smiled mischievously.
He shook his head, then he went out of words for a considerably long time.
Feeling how awkward the situation was getting, I calmly walked towards the garden patio then as I sat on a sofa there I broke the silence saying:
_" I apologize for coming late, I couldn't come earlier."
He chuckled while sitting far away from me and said:
_" It's Mr Filladi's fault, of course, he took his time to inform you I believe, I didn't expect less from him."
He cleared his voice and more calmly he added:
_" It's such a comfort to know you will remain under this man's care Noursine, no matter how he is, I should admit he's a good man to you at least."
_"And how is he to other people according to you? I'm just curious to know."
He observed my face weirdly under the dimly light after I asked, as I already started to wonder whether I'll receive an answer or not he finally said:
_" Not as good.. Not at all, while working for him I came to learn more about his nature, as long as the one is on his good page the one will benefit a lot, but once he's offended he attacks tirelessly, like a beast, it's a known fact that he shouldn't be messed with."
Well that should be true, I mean Eliyas literally took over filladi co under his father's carefully watching eyes, and his father is already the sneakiest devil out there so who else is left to stop him?
I felt very sorry for Nadir though, I couldn't even ask him in which page he fell on this devilish husband of mine's book.
More importantly I asked:
_" Forgive my rudeness, but I want to know why you decided to end things with Ines, well, you still wanted to marry her despite everything only days earlier, so how come the ship flipped when the weather is calm? If it's something I can help with, I gladly would."
Usually I don't stick my nose where I shouldn't, but for the sake of the poor Nadir who had to stand the torture of my mother in-law for my sake exceptions can me made.
He smiled gently, like he always does, then he said:
_" I truly appreciate your offer, but there isn't anything that can be done, this decision is the better that came out of bad, I'm aggrieved though that I will no longer be able to meet you, it was a delight spending time with you, you were always such a unique character."
Once he finished speaking, he must have noticed how uncomfortable I was, therefore he quickly explained:
_" will you not give my words other than their true meaning? I only ever saw you as a sister, as you would have been if my uncle was a decent stepfather to you."
He looked behind me towards the villa, then he nodded his head seemingly greeting someone, while doing that he continued:
_" such a restless man he is, he couldn't even allow me to bed farewell comfortably."
As I followed his eyes direction, I spotted Eliyas standing at the long glass window of the guests hall crossing his arms and staring right at us.
I couldn't refrain from chuckling while seeing him acting childish again, I mean is he so unsatisfied with the dozen bodyguards that were already watching me that he decided to become one him self? Even if Nadir suddenly decided to choke me to death to take revenge or whatsoever would Eliyas even be able to fight him? He's only expert in writing checks and suing people in such situations.
As I was busy mocking my husband in my head, Nadir suddenly called:
_" Noursine.."
When I turned to look at him, he strangely said:
_" Now I'll officially start calling you Mrs Filladi, So mrs Filladi.. I wish you all the happiness, good night."
He immediately left after saying this and didn't wait for me to speak, as he was heading towards the guests hall Ines surprisingly walked outside of there and met him half way, then they both changed direction and walked away inside the garden, being me, I naturally watched them both until their image became distant and blurry, as I was doing that Eliyas finally walked towards me, and unlike Nadir who earlier chose to sit in the furthest sofa from me, Eliyas decided to squeeze him self in my sofa chair that only fits for one person.
So yes, I ended up being deprived from my seat and being pushed to sit above this strange man's lap.
_" so you couldn't possibly sit somewhere else?" I commented with a displeased tone.
He buried his head in the gap of my neck then whispered:
_" this is the best place .. why would I compromise when I can have it?"
I held his hand between mine, and I started playing with the wedding ring on his finger, we stayed calmly in this position for long moments, until we both saw Ines returning alone to the guests hall and her sobs could be heard from a distance, as for Nadir, he wasn't there, he probably left the garden from another way.
When Ines walked pass us in that state, I could feel Eliyas's whole complexion stiffen, yet he didn't say a word in comment, he didn't try to follow her either.
I came to understand Eliyas's nature too over time, it's very hard for him to take action in matters related to his heart, I assume he's the kind of people who has much considerations to take, who are by nature very calculative and careful that they often miss the right chance to do the right thing, it's already a miracle that things worked out between us the way they did, I don't mean to brag but my most amazing character had to help him a lot in our matter.
Just imagine this man having to deal with a sensitive woman, wouldn't the poor she run away to the end of the universe after only one chat with him? Or worse, Imagine him with an equally cold and ambitious woman, I swear the third world war would have launched in Algeria!
It had to be me, or no one else would have found true happiness with him, I mean happiness coming from truly being around him and not from the fact he has much money or good status to offer.
Being the good wife that I am, I stood up from his lap, coldly gazed at him then thoughtfully advised him:
_" what is the point of you sitting here while your sister is crying there alone? You should go see her and keep her company, you don't have to say anything to her, if she blames you for everything then just take the blame, if she wants to fight with you then fight back and explain your self, don't wait for another three years before you try to fix things."
Well, I guess I took things a bit personal by mentioning "the three years" waiting, but this only proves how sincere I was in giving this precious advice by involving my own personal experience in the process.
In fact, this advice moved him so much that he looked at me with a very weird expression for a couple of seconds then he immediately stormed inside the villa as if he was heading to deal with a matter of life or death.
I felt so satisfied with my successful contribution while watching his fleeting back, I happily walked back to our room then happily fell asleep soon after.
While I was deep asleep, my waist was suddenly circled by a couple of cold arms, as if that wasn't already enough to wake me up, I had to be pulled into a cold hug as well.
I was feeling very displeased being deprived from sleep in this cold manner, but I couldn't of course express my displeasure since the situation I was forcibly dragged into was supposedly lovely and romantic, being the considerate person that I am, I said instead:
_" you're back, did you have a good chat with your sister?"
_" Well, I was hoping things would have ended better."
_" It's ok, you did your best, you should sleep now."
He didn't speak afterwards, so I was about to sleep again, that was when he strangely said:
_" Noursine, I say you better not give me advice in the future."
Although I wanted to scold him for acting mighty and proud I still didn't because I simply fell asleep before I did that.
But when I woke up the next morning and found out the chaos he made while I was asleep because of my advice, I finally realized I wasted my wisdom on the very wrong subject!
