When Eliyas finally reached me, he lifted his hand towards my head, then as he passed his fingers through my hair he calmly said:
_" why are you walking in the open air with a wet hair, are you planning to fall sick again so as I pamper you? You don't need to be sick to get that."
What the hell is this man saying to me in front of a public!!
Once he finished speaking, my father in-law who already had a flushed face gained a darker shade of redness probably embarrassed that he failed to morally educate his shameless son.
Akrem suddenly decided to admire the beauty of the big painting hanging on the wall, while doing that, his face mysteriously had a rare smirk on it.
As for Nadir, he maintained his original unperturbed smile.
And I, ladies and gentlemen, felt that it was unnecessary to go find a hairdryer and blow my hair, since all the water probably evaporated from the heat in my face and head!
Seeing how much I was blushing and avoiding his gaze, Eliyas gently stroked both my cheeks with the back of his hands making me feel insanely more embarrassed then he said as he heartily laughed:
_"what? Are you shying because I uncovered your mischief?"
I quickly pushed his hands away then said with a choked voice:
_"I thought you already went to the company building."
_" No, I didn't" he replied..
This reply was enough, clearly and definitely enough, still this ruthless man who was determined to make me bury my face in a hole said playfully:
_"I didn't want to wake you up earlier, I thought it was better to let you sleep more and rest, you said you were so tired last night."
At this point, even the pale Akrem turned red.
This shameless husband!!!
I didn't even dare say any other word to him afraid he'll describe what we exactly did last night next and how many times, I safely remained silent afterwards.
Realizing that I wasn't going to speak anytime soon, Eliyas strangely held my hand and pulled me closer to stand beside him, namely away from Nadir.
His action looked so natural and swift, only I felt the strength of his hold and felt very uneasy because of it.
He then looked at Nadir as if it was only at this point that he noticed his existence, he welcomed him with obvious pretence:
_" I see you're here so early Mr Ghemmari, I assume it's either you can't part for so long from my sister or that you enjoy being in my house so much."
Nadir tensely corrected his poster and replied a bit reserved:
_" I was invited to come here by Nana Mr Filladi, It would have been unpardonable of me to reject her so I had to free my schedule for the morning, Although my affections are indeed inclined to the people in this house, I'm still a busy man and can't come visit all the time."
Eliyas smiled coldly then said to him:
_" If I must say the truth then I have to admit you are indeed very serious in your work ever since you joined Filladi,well performing, still very family oriented amid all that, I really admire your professionalism Mr Ghemmari, yesterday for example you suddenly canceled a meeting right after my wife's accident to come pay a visit, then you called again in the evening to urgently reschedule that same meeting for the next hour, only a serious man would force a bunch of associates to go back to the company and have a meeting at dinner time."
_" What are you implying mr Filladi?" Nadir asked with a very cold voice.
The temperature suddenly dropped many degrees as they both fiercely stared at one another.
While looking at Eliyas, even I could feel the threatening and cruel aura surrounding him, he is indeed.. very ruthless.
I was surprised he actually went so far to investigate Nadir's schedule for the previous day, I thought only I felt skeptical about his sudden departure, as it turned out to be, Eliyas didn't miss such a thing either.
_" My words are clear Mr Ghemmari."
Eliyas finally said.. As his eyes went darker and more monstrous he continued:
_" You're a smart man, you don't need me to draw all the boundaries for you."
As we all literally shivered from fear hearing his words, only one person wasn't afraid to get her neck slaughtered by this cold monster. And this person is of course my dearest mother in-law. I have no Idea when she and Ines walked inside the villa from outside since I was too busy watching the show in front of my eyes, but I guess they were here long enough for her to hear the last words being said at least, since she angrily yelled:
_" Eliyas! How dare you talk to your sister's fiancé this way!"
Eliyas seemingly treating her as if she didn't exist, just ignored her like the usual, so feeling distraught she immediately jumped at Nadir's side, held his arm and pleadingly said:
_" Don't feel bad because of him, he always have a bad mouth but his intentions are good! Why didn't you inform us when you came earlier?! I understand you're more acquainted with Noursine but you shouldn't accept to ignore your fiancée to keep her company! It's good thing we met now anyways, Ines and I are going out to meet few of our friends and enjoy horse riding at their farm, you must accompany us!"
Nadir being helplessly cornered, could only smile and say:
_" Sure, I would love to."
I sighed internally hearing that they will all leave for the day! It means as well that no guests are coming since they should give a call first and when being informed that my mother in-law isn't in the house they would naturally refuse to come.
As I was celebrating happily inside my heart, Eliyas devastatingly announced:
_"we're joining you too."
I was so surprised that I loudly yelled:
_"What!!?"
He gave me a graceful smile then explained as if I didn't already understand what he meant:
_" We're going with them to enjoy horse riding as well."
I immediately objected not to have my day ruined:
_" How would us both do that? Are you joking with me? I'm phobic to such dangerous sports and you're allergic to dust, probably to horses too!"
_" Don't be such a petty person." Ines surprisingly intervened.. As she stepped closer towards me she added:
_" You don't have to ride horses, you can simply enjoy watching the rest of us doing it. Eliyas please, go help your wife get dressed."
And yes, my husband just ignored my objections and immediately started dragging me towards our room.
As we were walking further, I heard my mother in-law saying to her daughter:
_" You take your fiancé and show him to your room then! Noursine will probably take an eternity to dress up."
Although Nana wasn't with us, I still could imagine her sneering scornfully in my head:
_" shameless! Astaghfiro allah! ( may god forgive me)"
When we reached the second floor, Eliyas called for the butler, when the old man finally came Eliyas asked him to arrange for a stylist to come help me, and buy suitable clothes as well, since as it turned out to be, even my husband didn't know what should be worn in such an occasion.
You see, it's really something having this rich and cold husband, for example: I don't have to go shopping at all, he fills the closet for me with what he finds suitable, and I don't have to worry about embarrassing my self in such occasions because he can so easily find someone to fix my looks for me. As for the rest, mainly interacting with the high society, I don't have to do that neither! It's enough to stick to his side then his cold attitude will naturally drive away everyone!
When he finished speaking with the butler, he led us towards our room, then as soon as we walked inside he went to bring the hairdryer from the drawer and started blowing my hair for me afterwards as if that was the most natural thing to do.
_" Was Nana with you when you met Nadir?" he calmly asked as his figertips gently massaged my scalp.
I glanced at the side of his face then replied:
_" Yes, I went to find her to have a chat with her and that's when I met him, I was surprised to see them both in el-mossala having a Quran reading session, so I was curious."
_" your sudden bursts of curiosity always surprise me, since most of the time, you're just uninterested and not bothered, the situations and people you feel curious about must be either very special or peculiar."
You see, although these words might seem Ok, but I find it a must to put little light on the way he actually said them: not only he used this careful 'I can see through your skin' creepy kind of tone we usually hear in horror movies when the bad character threatens the innocent hero, above all that, he was touching my scalp, my neck and earlobes making me feel like If he would crack my scalp open at any moment!
While seriously starting to regret being lazy and not blowing my own hair earlier, I carefully asked:
_" Eliyas, are you still jealous of__"
_" Yes." He replied firmly before I even finished asking.
_"But we talked about it and there's__"
Of course I didn't finish saying this either, because someone was so eager to talk first, although I didn't expect him to say:
_" I don't usually ask much from you Noursine, do I?"
This question came out of context, at least according to my line of thinking, since I absolutely can't know what this man is having in head, I could only hesitantly reply to him:
_" No, you don't."
He remained silent afterwards, probably just to finish his task of drying my hair first, since the moment he turned off the hair dryer and put it aside he said:
_" Then I'll ask you to do this one thing, Can you be less around him? at least for me to know his true intentions first."
Honestly, I found this request a bit awkward, I don't think there are other intentions in Nadir's heart except for wanting to marry Ines and be a part of the family, he's a very straightforward man and if he had anything he wanted he would clearly say it. I learned from my experience with Eliyas not to hastily jump to conclusions first.
Surprised that Eliyas was acting much more different than his careful and prudent self, I could only attribute this increasing doubt to his unreasonable jealousy, It's rare for him to ask me to do anything as well, so being the understanding and thoughtful person that I am, I just simply nodded in agreement.
Although I acted like an obedient wife, still this man only walked away towards the balcony soon afterwards probably to make a work call, he totally ignored my existence!
Indeed, most of the good deeds in this world don't receive enough praise.
