I rose from the sofa and approached him slowly, taunting, âIf I hadnât brought you here under the guise of seeing my mother, would you ever spend time with me alone?â
Ignoring my provocations, Andrew continued to attempt to open the door.
Moving behind him, I embraced him tightly and declared, âStop trying.
No one is leaving the study tonight.
â
While saying that, I rubbed my plump b@@bs against Andrewâs back.
Andrew was already drugged.
How could he stand such a stimulation? Soon, I felt that the muscles all over his body became tense.
He tensed up, trying to distance himself from me.
But I was relentless.
I held him close, professing my love repeatedly.
âAndrew, I love you.
I am the woman who loves you the most in the world.
â
His response was strained and desperate.
âShirley, calm down.
Iâm engaged.
We canât be together.
â
I did not agree with that.
âSo what? You havenât married her yet.
Didnât we grow up together? How am I inferior to a lowly mixed-blood witch?â
Andrew attempted to reason with me.
âYou are the daughter of the clan leader, inherently noble.
Surely, you can find someone far better than me.
â
âI donât want anyone else.
I love only you.
No other woman can take you from me!â I declared firmly.
âCalm down! I donât love you!â Andrew responded sharply.
His words felt like a stab to my heart, but I regained my composure quickly and asked softly, âDidnât we get along well before? You were always kind to me.
Has something changed? Is it because of Debra? Am I right?â
âWith or without Debra, my feelings wouldnât change.
I wouldnât love you, nor will I be with you.
â Andrewâs dismissive tone nearly broke me.
In desperation, I cried out, âYouâre lying! That canât be true! Weâve known each other our whole lives.
We must feel something for each other.
It has to be Debraâs influence! I hate how sheâs changed you.
Would you return to me if she were gone?â
As I lost control of my emotions, Andrew pushed me away.
He stared at me with evident disgust and declared coldly, âShirley, youâre crazy!â
Shirleyâs POV:
Andrew shoved me with tremendous force.
I lost my balance and crashed into the corner of the wall, the impact sending sharp pain through my back and drawing a grimace from me.
Despite my resentment towards Andrew for his harshness, a part of me relished it.
So what if he didnât love me? Soon, he would be mine.
Once I was his wife, I was certain heâd fall for me eventually.
