After thinking for a moment, I agreed and said, âOkay.
â
Holding Abby close, I quickly went downstairs.
When we stepped outside, many people were already gathered there, the servants standing in front of the villa, all looking in one direction, their faces a mix of shock and confusion.
What was happening?
I wondered, following their gaze.
Suddenly, I felt just as amazed as they did.
Ivy couldnât help but exclaim, âOh my goodness, whatâs going on? Have the two worlds completely fuse? Am I dreaming?â
I stared at the scene before me, trying to understand it.
After a moment, I nodded slowly and said, âThis is real.
The two worlds have merged.
â
Ivy fell silent.
In front of us was a sky without the usual rift, and we could see another worldâs cityscape in the distance: tall buildings glowing with lights, like stars in the night sky, and beautiful lighthouses reaching up into the clouds.
I realized that the recent earthquakes were because the two worlds were merging, shaking the earth like an earthquake would.
After a while, the servants started to regain their composure.
âHow is this even possible?â
âThe two worlds have merged?â
They whispered to each other about what had happened, but without much information, they couldnât figure it out.
Like Ivy, they found it hard to believe.
âThis is too much to take I didnât say anything, just kept looking at the other world.
â
Honestly, the idea of both worlds merging completely, and everyone having to get used to it, seemed unbelievable.
But now that it was actually happening, I was not sure how I felt.
âIvy, you may not know this, but Iâve always thought I might be from the other world.
I always want to know what itâs like there, and if my husband might be there too.
Iâve been desperate to find out if my suspicions are true.
But now that this has happened so suddenly, I feel really anxious.
â
I put my hand on my chest, feeling my heart beating fast.
âIvy, I donât have any memories of the other world, and I donât understand anything about it.
Iâm not ready to face it.
What should I do?â
Debraâs POV:
Hearing my words, Ivy sighed.
It seemed my mood had influenced her, making her tone grow heavier.
In a hushed voice, Ivy said, âHoney, Iâm sorry.
I donât know either.
Maybe the two of us can only play it by earâ¦â
Before she could finish, her voice was drowned out by the chatter of the servants.
âItâs getting late.
Shall we head home?â
