Chapter 78

At that moment, I saw the nervous look in Gordonâs eyes. He immediately strode over, grabbed his phone and opened it to check the messages.
Then I saw his brow relax, and he tapped quickly on the phone screen to reply to it.
A mere text message from Sabrina could make him so nervous.
Sabrina was probably the only one who could make him care so much.
I felt my heart grow more aggrieved as I looked up at the sky full of silver moonlight.
I stood
up
and pretended to yawn, then said wearily, âIâm kind of tired. I want to go to sleep. Why donât you
sit here for a while?â
âNo. Letâs head down together,â he said impassively to me as he pocketed his phone.
I yawned again and looked at his phone in his pocket.
At that moment, something drove me to say, âI heard that Sabrina already has a boyfriend.â
I didnât know why I blurted it out. Perhaps I simply wanted to see Gordonâs reaction. After all, he was such
a possessive person.
âI know, but they arenât suited for each other. That man doesnât match well with her.â
I hadnât expected him to answer me at once. His words implied that he already knew a lot about Sabrinaâs life, and I could sense that he was confident of being the victor.
It indeed rendered me speechless.
âHow do you know they arenât suited for each other? Are you compatible with her then?â
I didnât do it deliberately, but the words just seemed to tumble out of me. Gordon finally seemed to
realize what I was hinting at. He suddenly fathed and flicked me on the forehead.
âAre you serious? Are you actually jealous of a young woman?â
Young woman?
She was Gordonâs sweetheart.
Did he know that in the near future, he would love her so desperately that he would behave like a male lead character in a trashy romance novel?
I laughed mirthlessly and pressed my lips together.
âI wonât be jealous anymore, Iâm very calm. If you started dating her tomorrow, Iâd give in immediately.â
I tried my best to appear indifferent.
Gordonâs smile immediately disappeared, and his voice turned cold once more.
Chapter 78
âIâm not a playboy who likes any woman he sees.â
He would eat his own words.
I couldnât help mocking him inwardly, but I said, âI hope so.â
âAlright, youâre always bickering with me. Letâs go downstairs!â
He reached out and slung an arm around my shoulders as he steered me forcefully down the stairs.
I bent down hastily and dodged his arm before circling behind him. He looked angrily at me, and I laughed. I racked my brain for an explanation.
âThis staircase is so narrow that we canât walk side by side.â
He knew that I was simply making an excuse, but he stuck his hands in his pockets and sauntered
downstairs first.
I trailed behind him, but he unexpectedly entered the master bedroom again. The moment he stepped in, he immediately took off his sweater and the white Tâshirt inside.
