Chapter 45
I asked coldly, âNora, how dare you make a scene here?â
Nora didnât anticipate my presence at the entrance. She paused briefly when she heard my voice. Still, she
couldnât resist giving me a quick onceâover.
I was still wearing casual clothes. Moreover, someone had spilled champagne on my left shoulder earlier. So, I appeared ordinary and messy.
Nora smirked and casually flicked her long hair in my direction.
âI was curious about the chatter. Mr. Holmes requested my early arrival today. Oh, by the way, didnât he prepare an evening gown for you?â
I noticed her dressâwhich I thought was probably from Valentinoâs autumn collectionâwas not top quality but definitely pricey.
Judging by her proud tone and expression, it seemed Gordon footed the bill.
Gordon seemed to think our money grew on trees. I couldnât understand why he would splurge on women
like Nora.
âItâs none of your business if Iâve prepared a gown or not. But since youâre causing a scene at my venue, I
must intervene. Security, escort her out! I donât want to see this woman inside again!â
I couldnât be bothered to argue with her, so I instructed the security guard nearby to remove her.
Even though most people at the venue didnât recognize me, the security guards at the door had just seen
Gordon and me arrive and exit the car together.
The security guards immediately understood. They swiftly approached and forcefully removed Nora.
Nora certainly didnât anticipate my reaction.
She appeared visibly enraged, stomping her foot and shouting, âWhy? Why are you kicking me out? I have a VIP ticket, and Iâm Mr. Holmesâ girlfriend! If anyone tries to kick me out, Iâll call him right now!â
She didnât care about upholding her celebrity image. Despite knowing Gordon was married, she openly called herself his âgirlfriendâ without considering any potential media backlash.
While she showed no fear, I certainly did.
Today was a significant day for Holmes Group. As its matriarch, I was determined to ensure that no oneâs antics and gossip would disrupt the gala..
âKick her out! Sheâs not allowed in without my approval! Even if Mr. Holmes disagrees, it makes no difference. Are we clear?â I stated firmly, displaying my authority as the family matriarch.
âMay I ask, who are you?
The head of security approached me cautiously. He was uncertain and wanted to confirm my identity

again.
âAre you fucking blind? Sheâs Mrs. Holmes, the legally married wife of Mr. Holmes. How dare anyone speak out of turn here? Itâs embarrassing!â
Before I could even utter a word, a clear tenor voice suddenly echoed from outside.
I spotted Hector entering, dressed sharply in a white sult. He spoke with a cold demeanor, appearing
intimidating.
The head of security was startled and quickly apologized to me. Then, he immediately ordered the guards
to evict Nora.
At that moment, Hector approached me. He noticed the champagne stain on my shoulder and assumed Nora was responsible, given the recent events.
So, without asking me anything, he picked up a bottle of champagne nearby and walked over. He wordlessly poured it directly over Noraâs head.
Nora, being a celebrity, had never endured such humiliation before. She couldnât contain her emotions any longer and burst into tears.
She was crying at the entrance, which seemed like bad luck on such an occasion. I felt no sympathy for someone like her trying to climb the social ladder. I told security to kick her out of the hotel through the
main entrance.
I couldnât care less if she wanted to complain to Gordon.
I knew this woman was simply a fleeting figure in Gordonâs life, hardly worth mentioning.
âToday is the most important evening for Holmes Group. Surely, youâre not planning to attend wearing this outfit, are you?â
