Chapter 29: CHAPTER 25

THIRD PERSON POV

Far away from Chen Empire, within the mountains of Shenyuan, a dark entity lingers.

HISS...

CHUCKLED...

In a cave at the top of the mountain, deep inside, the sounds of hissing and chuckling could be heard. Standing in the middle of the hollowed cave are two men wearing a black cloak. In front of them, a sorceress sits while holding a bowl of water in front of her.

"It seems like the prophecy was true after all." Said the man with his hood up.

"What shall we do then master?" the other man asks.

The man smirks. "We wait, my dear pet. The prophecy has only just started. Once the boy has gone through complete misery, will we make our move."

"Yes, master."

Shun Rong sits between his mother and father with a blank face. He understood everything that is being said by his parents and his beast, but he couldn't help himself but stay in a daze. He was excited to have these many powers yet scared because he knew of the responsibility that he would have to carry.

"Shun Rong, my dear. Are you alright?" Feng Liqin asks. He was filled with worry for his son. "I know this is a lot to take in and I'm sure you're confused as well, but-"

"I'm fine, mother. I understand everything that you and father told me. I'm really happy and excited, it's just that," Shun Rong stopped what he was about to say and looked down. Feng Liqin frowned. He pulled Shun Rong into his arms and hugged him tightly.

"Shun Rong, I know that you're scared. It's normal since you are different but always know both your mother and I are here beside you. If you are not comfortable with us about something, there is always your uncles Huizhong and Zhong Shen." Huang Longwei coaxed his son.

Shung Rong looked at his father in surprise. He has never seen nor heard his father speak or act with warmth towards him. It was only towards his mother. Huang Longwei chuckled seeing his son's reaction. He smiled fondly, then looked up at his wife. Feng Liqin giggled as he watched them both.

"I know it's surprising seeing me act like this since I'm always strict with you. I am like that to make sure no one will hurt you in any way. Now I am like this because I know that I shouldn't be strict with you and instead coaxed you. I don't want you to be stressed over this matter."

Shun Rong nodded at his father's intentions and smiled.  He turned from his mother's embrace and hugged his father. Huang Longwei enclosed his arms around his son with a smile. Feng Liqin felt his heart swelled seeing this situation. He was happy to the point of emitting a warm aura around the room that made the three-beast calm.

"WAIT!" Shun Rong screamed, alerting everyone in the room. "What about the ceremony? Are we supposed to tell everyone about what happened today?" Shun Rong asks feeling distressed.

Huang Longwei thought for a moment. "Shun Rong. Can you call out Shen for me?" Shun Rong nodded, then he closed his eyes. When he opened them, grey, stormy eyes stared back at Huang Longwei.

"You called me, father?"

"Yes. I wanted to ask you, can all of you conceal yourself during the awakening ceremony?"

"Yes, all of us can do that. Though, Liang won't be able to once you spite his temper. Why do you ask father? Do you have something in mind?" Shen asked. He was intrigued by his father since Huang Longwei was a powerful man.

Huang Longwei answered Shen with a cold look in his eyes, "It wouldn't be good if everyone knew of Shun Rong's capabilities. Especially those who wish to overthrow or use him. Shen, you should know well that it's too dangerous for Shun Rong to be exposed with these many powers." Shen nodded in understanding. "Therefore, I want you, Liang and Mingyun to hide yourselves."

"Alright, father but whose power is it that should be shown?" Shen asked curiously.

"Liang's." Both Shen and Feng Liqin were shocked. It didn't click on why they should pick fire over air or earth. Huang Longwei then snapped his fingers. Bai floated in front of them and made a circle with his body. Then, a mirror-like image appeared. Inside they saw a man that looked like Huang Longwei wearing the royal robes that Huang Longwei would wear during royal meetings with other Empires. The man then stood from where he sat, and the image shows a clearer image of where the man was. Shen and Feng Liqin, as well as the other two beasts’ eyes, widen when they see that the man was standing over the people of Cheng Empire.  The man raised his arms and fire came out as it blazed over everyone that stood before it. Bai uncoils himself as the image blurs itself and went back to his master’s side.

“Master Huang, who was that man?” Xiaoli asked with a shaken voice.

Without a single expression on Huang Longwei’s face, he answered, “My father” After a while, he spoke again. “That is now dead. Killed by me.” Xiaoli let out a sigh. She felt uneasy when looking at the man in the image. “You don’t have to worry Xiaoli, that man will no longer cause any harm to anyone.” Huang Longwei said when seeing Xiaoli’s uneasiness.

Shen and Feng Liqin now understood why he picked Liang’s power instead. He wants people to fear Shun Rong. If people were to fear Shun Rong, they would stay away. “Well, at least everything is settled for now. Shen, go and get some rest. All of you would need it since the day of the ceremony is near.” Feng Liqin cut in. It has been a very long day and he could feel the tiredness in the air. Shen nodded and went out with his beast following behind him. Huang Longwei nodded to Bai and the dragon also went out with Xiaoli that knew what would happen next.

Feng Liqin stood and went straight towards the bed with the thought of lying down but was stopped by Huang Longwei. “Take your outer robes off first at the very least.” He said softly and proceeded to untie Feng Liqin’s robes until there was only his inner robes that was left. Feng Liqin smiled lovingly at his husband and wanted to do the same but stopped when he felt a sharp pain on his head.

“AH!” Feng Liqin held his head and at the next second, blackout.

“FENG LIQIN!!”

Soo..... First of all... I like to that I'm soooooooo sorry to you. I'm sorry for being quiet and not updating for so long.😭😭😭

Second... I've been writing a few chapters to post but when I rechecked them... I wasn't satisfied at all 😤

So, I'm planning to edit them. 😁

Third... In order to not keep all of you waiting... I posted at least one chapter 😅
