âI bet youâre the one behind everything that happened back in the jail!â Darius added with a huff.
Levant clenched his fists and growled, âShut up! Take them away and lock them up!â
âOh, are you mad, Mr. Levant?â Damien asked with a chuckle.
âYeah! You are even talking about locking us up. You can dream on!â Jeremy taunted, raising his fists in preparation for a fight.
The tension in the air mounted. However, before a fight could break out, another person walked into the tunnel.
âLevant, Dadâs still in the hospital. Why are you picking a fight instead of visiting him?â a womanâs voice rang.
The speaker was Avril. She glanced at Evan and his subordinates and decided to help him. Evanâs on good terms with Sir Musgrave, so Iâm sure saving him would make him happyâ¦
Maybe heâll let me into the estate if I do that!
âThatâs enough, Avril!â Levant bellowed, glaring at her. âIâll visit him when Iâm done dealing with these pests!â
Avril huffed and walked over to Evan and stood between him and Levant. âYouâll have to get past me first if you want to hurt them!â she snarled at Levant.
No guard would dare to hurt the young mistress of the Wicked Palace.
The guards exchanged glances as they were confused.
Avril was not favored by Murphy, but she was his oldest daughter nonetheless. Hurting her would mean certain death for them.
With that, the guards turned around to face Levant, waiting for his orders.
Levant stared at Avril with a deep frown. âGo away! This is none of your business!â
âWhat are you talking about!â Avril protested. âI have a say in anything that happens in the Wicked Palace!â
Levant gritted his teeth. âGuards! Drag her away!â
âWhat? Levant! Youâll never hear the end of this!â Avril yelled.
The guards hesitated, and one of Levantâs henchmen stepped forward to break the silence. âApologies, Ms. Avril!â
With that, two guards grabbed her by the arms and hauled her out of the tunnel roughly.
Avril continued to scream even as the guards dragged her out. âLevant! Iâm your older sister! How could you! Levant!â
The Hidden Masters sighed. Even Ms. Avril couldnât save us! Looks like weâll have to fight it out after all..
âLevant!â Evan voice out suddenly. âThis is between the two of us. Letâs keep it between us. There is no need to get everyone involved so I will stay back and you let everyone go!â
âMr. Seet!â
âYou canât do that, Mr. Seet! We arenât leaving you here!â
âThatâs right! Weâre staying with you!â
The Hidden Masters protested against Evanâs orders, while John simply grimaced.
Whoâs going to save us if all of us died in the fight? Mr. Seet will be able to count on us for backup if we stayed out of the fight! If worse comes to worstâ¦at least weâll be able to ask for help elsewhere!
Thereâs no point in being foolhardy without weighing the consequences.
He coughed lightly and said, âAlright then, weâll take Mr. Seetâs order and letâs go.â
âJohn! Are you scared of?â Jensen asked, glaring at him.
âYouâre such a coward!â Jeremy bellowed.
âJohn, youâreâ¦huh?â
Darius cut himself off and sighed loudly. Damien narrowed his eyes, as though he had understood Johnâs true intentions.
However, they did not want to leave without having a good fight. Maybe they could stand a chance to get Mr. Seet out.
John was unfazed. Youâre just being reckless!
Suddenly, Nicole piped up. âLet the innocent ones go, Levant!â
âThe innocent ones?â Levant scoffed. âAnd who would that be?â
Youâre just going to cause even more trouble for me in the future if I let them go!
