Darn it, if I had known what I was walking into, I-I wouldâve gotten Evan to do that in my place.
Seeing how terrible Nicole looked, Evan asked her what was wrong.
âGo talk to your daughter when you get home. Donât let her give her teachers nicknames again.â
Evan turned around and stared curiously at her.
âWhat did Nina call her teacher?â
Nicole rolled her eyes and pointed out, âDonât put the blame on Nina. Maya is the one who did it, not Nina.â
âMaya?â
Evan was just as shocked as Nicole was when she first heard about it.
âYes, Maya! Go ask her what nicknames she gave the teachers, and find out how she even came up with those names in the first place!â
âAlright, alright. Iâll go talk to her about it. Shall we go see Davin now?â
Nicole checked how Evan looked with the Yoda mask on. It was likely that no one would recognize him.
âSure, letâs head over to the Seet Group.â
Evan hurriedly drove to the Seet Group building.
Along the way, Nicole called Davin to ask him where he was.
Davin was surprised to be receiving a call from Nicole.
âWhatâs up, Nicole?â
âIâm back in the country and am heading over to the office. Are you there?â
âI-Iâm at the bar.â
âDavin Seet, you are at the bar during working hours? A-Are you really going to let Seet Group crumble?â
Davin turned to the escort beside him, looking troubled.
âIâm busy and have to go, Nicole. Bye.â
Davin hung up, which infuriated Nicole.
Sitting next to Nicole and driving, Evan couldnât help being curious. How did Davin end up like that?
âShould we go to Seet Group? Or do we go to the bar to find him?â
âLetâs drop by Seet Group first. Weâll head over to the bar later.â
When they arrived at the Seet Group building, Nicole got out of the car with the masked Evan.
Evan stood at the main entrance of the building and stared emotionally at the company that he had spent years fighting for and building.
Evan had sweat and bled for the companyââit was like a child he had been raising for years. Yet, he had only been gone for a few months and the company was already at risk of being taken over.
Evan refused to let something like that happen.
âLetâs head in and see how things are now.â
âOkay.â
Nicole forged ahead while Evan followed closely behind with his Yoda mask on.
Nicoleâs sudden appearance got the companyâs employees talking. Many of them couldnât contain their curiosity, who then gathered to gossip.
âWhy is Mr. Seetâs wife suddenly showing up here?â
âI donât know, either. Last I heard, she left the country with the owner of Levant Winery.â
âThe company is fighting a civil war now, and as employees, we are in terrible shape. We have to listen to every single personâs orders. None of this would have happened if Mr. Seet is still around.â
âDid she come to the office to get her hands on the Seet Group as well?â
âIf thatâs the case, the company will see yet another round of showdown.â

The staff finally resumed working after they finished gossiping.
Nicole led Yoda to the top floor.
She held Yodaâs hand tightly when they were alone in the elevator. âI trust you. Everything will belong to you once more in no time,â said Nicole.
Yoda nodded.
The only problem was that they had been away for a few months, so they had no idea who was the one holding all the power. They also didnât know how segregated the company was, how much resources had slipped out of the companyâs grasp, or how much internal damage had been done. They would have to investigate everything carefully.
They were approaching the presidentâs office when they heard Adam and Lisa in an argument inside the office.
What the hell are they doing here?
When they listened closely, they could tell that Adam and Lisa were scolding someone.
Lisaâs piercing voice went, âYou are nothing but a scoundrel taken in by Seet Group. You will do as instructed and will not talk back at us!â
âExactly. Do your job and reassign these projects to me right away. We wonât treat you poorly after you accomplish your task. Whatever Evan offered you back then, we will offer even more!â
