She must crawl through the hole!
Sheila looked at Sylphiette and nodded, saying, âDonât worry. As long as Iâm here, Iâll make sure she doesnât play any tricks on us!â
I wonât let her pull any tricks to get away!
Evan then gazed at Nicole deeply and thought to himself, if what she said that night was true, then she was indeed the one who suffered in the Lane family household back thenâ¦
Could it really be her?
Suddenly, he recalled the drawings that were at Nicoleâs place.
Could she be the one who completed those drawings? If it were her, why would she deny it?
Evan felt trapped by the information that Sylphiette was feeding him. He decided not to trust anyone until John investigated the matter thoroughly.
That very moment, Nicole finally guessed what was going on, but she couldnât believe it.
Did Sylphiette manage to get close to Evan because she pretended to be me back then?
That sounds absolutely ridiculous!
She had pondered on this for so long but had never thought about this possibility before.
âSylphiette, you lead the way. Show us which hole you used to sneak in last time!â Evan declared loudly.
Sheila then strode towards her and signaled for her to lead the way.
Sylphiette stood up hesitantly and trembled as she walked forward. Damn it, Nicole. Which hole was it?
She analyzed what Kyle and Juan had said earlier, then slowed down her footsteps.
When Sheila saw her slowing down, she quickly propped her forward, in fear that she might be trying to play tricks.
âDonât you dare pretend to fall or faint. If you do faint, Iâll pinch you until you wake up!â she threatened.
Sylphietteâs face darkened when she heard Sheilaâs words.
âYou donât have to worry, Ms. Sheila!â she responded as she looked at Sheila fiercely and walked towards the southern wall.
Upon reaching the southern wall, she couldnât find any hidden holes. She turned her head and caught a glimpse of Evanâs gloomy face.
âEvan, itâs been too long. I donât remember very clearly. Perhaps itâs the northern wall,â she said.
âHead there then!â Sheila roared at her.
When she reached the northern wall, she still couldnât find any hidden holes.
Whatâs going on?
There are no hidden holes on both walls!
Could those two kids have lied to me?
That moment, Kyle and Juan started laughing as they said, âShe doesnât even know where the hidden holes are!â
âEvan, I actually suffered memory loss because of a disease that I caught in the past. Iâ¦â Sylphiette stuttered.
Disease? Who is she trying to fool?
All of a sudden, she has memory loss?
Definitely not!
âYou failed to answer the first question! Youâll know where the hole is once we make you crawl through it! Now continue answering the rest of the questions!â shouted Evan.
âE-Evanâ¦â she stammered.
Evan didnât even bother looking at her. He continued walking and simply gave her the cold shoulder.
At the same time, Kyle rolled his eyes at her, while Juan stuck out his tongue and gave her a funny look.
Sylphiette clenched her teeth in frustration as she looked at the two mischievous kids.
She felt like beating them up, yet she didnât dare to take any action.
While Juan and Kyle ran up to Evan, Nicole walked up to her and shot daggers with her eyes.
âSylphiette, I never thought that you are capable of being an imposter!â said Nicole bluntly.
âSo what if I am an imposter? Evan doesnât like me, but he doesnât like you either!â Sylphiette retorted.
âThe person he loved was the cute little girl back then, not who you are today! Right now, he hates you the most. Even if you tried to be that little girl from before, you wouldnât be able to steal his heart now!â she added.
Nicole felt like a dagger had just pierced through her heart as she struggled to catch her breath.
Clenching her fingers subconsciously, she knew that what Sylphiette said was true even though her words were unpleasant.
Evan doesnât like me now.
The little girl from back then and the present-day me are two different people to him.
