According to Davin, Evan thinks that the rumor is a real deal. Surely, he must be thinking that Iâm an unscrupulous person too.
âUncle Evan,â the bubbly Maya called out sweetly. She had a fond impression of Evan.
With a straight face, Evan lowered his eyes to look at her. He was enraged by her presence for it reminded him that she was Rockyâs child.
He then stared at Nicole coldly and did not notice the disappointment on Mayaâs face.
âYouâre not allowed to see Kyle and Juan anymore.â
âWhy not?â
âBecause I donât want my sons to grow up under the influence of a woman like you, Mrs. Yan.â
Mrs. Yan, what an awkward title. Should I explain to him? If I donât, I might not get to see Kyle and Juan in the future.
âMr. Seet, this is all a huge misunderstanding. Rocky and I are not in that kind of relationship.â
Evan constricted his eyes. Sheâs addressing me as Mr. Seet while calling other man amiably by his first name! Well, itâs obvious whoâs closer to her heart.
âIâm not interested in your relationship and I donât want to hear anything about your dirty business. I just want you to remember my words!â Evan ended the conversation decisively and headed to the kindergarten.
Nicole looked at his back and dazed. My dirty business? Right, so Iâm just a shameless woman to him but why does it hurt so much? Itâs unbearableâ¦
âMommy, you promised to pick Kyle and Juan up this weekend,â Maya stated while shaking Nicoleâs hands.
âThatâs right, Mommy. He can say whatever he wants but Iâm sure Kyle and Juan will want to see you more,â Nina added.
Nicole hesitated. The kiddos would want to follow me but Evan will never allow that to happen. I guess I should not show up to avoid putting the kids on the spot.
Snapping out of her daze, she held her daughtersâ hands and made a U-turn.
âMommy, arenât we going to see Juan?â
âMommy, why are you so fearful of the evil daddy?â
âMommy is feeling under the weather; weâll pick them up tomorrow instead.â
The two girls looked at each other; they knew very well that it was just an excuse.
Itâs all evil daddyâs fault! Weâll call and complain to Kyle and Juan.
Evan was standing like an almighty figure at the entrance to the kindergarten. Seeing how other children were buttering up his sons, he felt very annoyed.
It was for this same reason that he planned to transfer them to another school the last time he was here. What he saw confirmed his decision that day. No better time than now.
Thus, he immediately contacted John to make the necessary arrangements. Right when the text message was delivered, Kyle and Juan arrived in front of him.
The two boys pouted when they realized that the person who came to pick them up was their sour-faced Daddy and not Mommy whom they had missed so much.
âDaddy, why are you here?â
âDaddy, did you see Mommy? She said she would be here today. Weâll wait for her, you can go home first.â
Absence makes the heart grows fonder. I miss Mommy so much. Juan was longing to see Nicole after being separated for a few days.
Evan snarled, âSheâs not your Mommy and sheâs never ever going to come pick you guys up again.â
âBut, why?â
âThereâs no but nor why. Letâs go home,â Evan commanded and walked straight ahead.
The boys were stunned. Why is daddy so domineering all of a sudden and forbidding us to see Mommy? Did something happen? We just asked Davin before leaving for kindergarten today and he said he would take care of this.
âHe said that he could help Daddy and Mommy patch things up but now itâs clear that he messed up. Letâs complain to Grandma when we get back and then see what he has to say,â Juan said angrily while Kyle nodded in agreement.
The boys stayed silent on the way home. The usually aloof Kyle carried an extremely cold look whereas the chatty Juan was surprisingly as quiet as a mouse.
It irked Evan to think of the silent treatment he received from the two kiddos.
