As the two men got up and headed to the study room, Kyle and Nina sat next to Nicole and listened to her recount her experience during the trip.

“That was your mentality when you dated Renee, wasn’t it? And how did that turn out? She still hasn’t gotten married yet!” Evan retorted.

Davin’s face darkened at the mention of his heart-wrenching past.

That relationship with Renee… It did end up hurting her. It was an immature relationship, and there were many irreversible regrets. Such as how Renee will never be able to conceive again. Is Evan saying all this because he’s worried that Nina will suffer the same fate?

“I understand your concerns, Evan. I won’t meddle in Nina and Chris’ affairs,” Davin finally said.
