Soon, the news of Nicoleâs pregnancy became known to all the members of the Seet Residence. It was a joyous occasion for the entire Seet family.
When Sophia heard about the good news, she thought about how their enemy was literally knocking on their door and suddenly, she had mixed feelings about the whole thing. In the end, she said, âItâs a good thing that we are going to have a new family member in the Seet family.â
âYes, itâs good news indeed.â
Jonathan appeared solemn. He didnât know if he would still be alive to see the birth of his grandchild.
On the other hand, Sheila and Davin were both happy and envious.
âMy goodness. I canât believe that youâre really pregnant. We were only lying to Levant yesterday about it, and we didnât expect you to be pregnant for real.â Davin said with a look of surprise on his face.
Sheila followed with a sigh and said, âThatâs right. If we had known, we could have been bolder and hit Levant even harder where it hurts.â
Davin snorted. âWhy do you hate him so much? Youâve been feeling hostile towards him since you and Tiffany became close friends. Back then, you thought that Tiffany was not worthy of Levant.â
âThatâs because I didnât know Levant in the beginning, but now, things are different. Right now, Tiffany is in my good books. Sheâs a strong and independent woman. As for Levant, heâs obsessed with another manâs wife, and thatâs just wrong.â
âLevant is just in too deep. It just shows that heâs a young man blinded by love,â Davin commented seriously.
Sheila pursed her lips and said, âPft! How could he be a young man blinded by love? Davin, do you even know what you are talking about? Do you still think of yourself as a young fella?â
âOf course, Iâm not married yet.â
âMy, my! Arenât you shameless?â She looked at him from head to toe with a dubious expression.
Sophia and Jonathan, who were next to them, felt annoyed at their bickering.
âAlright, stop it, you two. Now that Evan and Nicole are expecting again, what about you guys? When are you going to have children?â
With Sophiaâs question in the air, Davin glanced at Sheila. Initially, both of them were not planning to have any children. They thought about getting married first before even trying for a child. Seeing both of them silent, Sophia sighed. âHurry up and have a baby, you two. Donât wait any longer. This way, I can help you to look after your baby before Iâm too old for that.â
âYes, Mom.â Davin replied.
Sheila gave a faint smile, but she was feeling anxious deep inside. She was troubled with the thought of the possibility of being infertile.
Davin seemed to notice her anxiousness. He stared at her belly and muttered, âReneeâs not able to have a baby. Donât tell me you canât have a baby too? If thatâs the case, then Iâm never going to have the chance to be a father.â
In response, Sophia kicked him and said, âNonsense. Sheila is a healthy woman, so why canât she have a baby? Youâd better put in more effort, you hear?â
As for Sheila, she became upset, but it was not because of what Davin had said. Instead, she was annoyed that he had brought Renee into the picture. It seemed that he still wasnât able to forget his old flame, Renee.
