553 About me
Amairaâs eyes shone with killing intent and Charles couldnât help but gulp. It brought thousands of scenes in front of him that forced him to recall those flashes. Those expressions...
While taking a better look, he could feel his mother in her. Those would be the same expressions of her if she was alive at that point.
âYou donât mind?â Charles asked with the careful instinct but all she did was to shake, âHe separated me from my mother, why shall I be happy for him? He killed his own child, does he deserve mercy? Because of him, both of you hated me.... I was never able to get proper motherly love and brotherâs love... All Shirley Johnson did was to use me for her motive! As a tool to get power... He snatched my happiness. I..-I...â
There was pain in those words and all Charles did was to pull her into his embrace. She kept her head against her elder brotherâs chest to feel warmth. It was best...something she thought she could never afford in this lifetime.
How many times has she felt that maybe, instead of their sister, she should have died. But interestingly, things turned into more than she could have imagined..
She was at the loss of words. Her mind rolled to the time when she was still a kid and had tried to maintain a cordial relationship with her brothers. At that point, Charles simply gave her a cold glare while Javier refrained from saying anything.
However, she continued to pursue him and Javier ultimately burned his fury upon her head. His words were still very clear in her ears, âDo not come near me! I donât want to talk with an illegitimate child like you!â
That was the turning point in her life.
Tears rolled through her cheeks. She didnât want to cry...not to show any of those emotions which are budding in her heart. They should be deeply engraved in her heart where they were locked in the safe place. She had decided not to let them out, until her own restrains blocked her control.
.....
Yet it didnât stop the turmoil in her mind to come on her face. While Charles patted her back, she nodded her head, âIâm fine...â
âItâs fine... We are sorry for our attitudes back then.â Charles couldnât not help but say. âWe shouldnât have been harsh on you. After all, you were child too....â
Charles moved his head to look at Javier. He noted Javier had intentionally kept his fist inside his pockets. He didnât shift his brows which were knitted together. Charles gave Javier a simple stare and Javier seemed to gain out of his daze.
He parted his lips, but at that point, nothing could be drawn out. No word...he was speechless... How should he comfort the girl he had disliked for many years?
Out of the blue, they heard they have a sister. âShould I console her? Should I say that I donât regret what I said to her in the past because I treated her as a child of a homewrecker?â Javier couldnât come up with a simple meaning sentence.
On the other hand, Charles saw the uneasiness in Javierâs stare. A smirk drew on his lips when he asked, âAmaira, I think your brother is interested in saying something to you...â
Amaira- â...â
She moved her eyes to look at Javier and his reluctant gaze. Even though she found it hard to converse with him, nothing could soothe the awkwardness.
His silence still doesnât break her heart anymore. Maybe, if he had something then she wouldnât take them sincerely....
But it seemed their stares could convey the sentiments that their impressions worked. They didnât need to give words anymore. Their hearts have the same wordsâ¦
They arenât accepting reality so easily.
The transformation in Charles was much easier as compared to the rigid Javier. Amaira understood the nature of both her brothers. They were apart in their natures but she had managed to calm herself to mutter.
âItâs fine. All three of us were entangled in the affairs of the adults. We can start to live like a better family from now onward...â
Amaira secretly peaked her eyes to find Javier. His earlier stiffed expressions cramped down on knowing she wasnât going to hold the grudge against him..
Charles and Javier finally asked her to come down. The butler had prepared the lunch for all and Amaira nodded. Finally, the brothers left the room and she changed into a dark blue frock.
When she finally got ready and got out of her bedroom, her eyes landed on the familiar face in the lobby.
âWhat are you doing Ryan?â Amaira took steps when she found him standing against the wall. He wasnât looking at her but his simple aura made her gulp the saliva. It sent the chill down her spine, was the centralized heating not switched on?
Ryan moved his phoenix filled black eyed at her. Parting his lips, he asked, âHow do you feel now?â
âMi-Mixed emotions. I canât describe them.â She didnât lower her eyes and accepted her sentiments bravely.
Ryan rotated himself to finally look in her direction in a better way. His eyes traced from her feets till her face, finding his heart racing again, âhas your brother told you about....â
âIs it about my father trying to blackmail you? I do know.â Amaira had no reasons to deny. She wanted a clear picture. Why was he bringing that topic up now?
As Amaira felt Ryan trying to come closer, subconsciously she took a step back. A nervous scream was going through her mind....â What should I do?â
Ryan stopped in his tracks. He saw her moving away from him. He had no idea but why does it still hurt? Shouldnât he be happy that she was afraid, trying to get away from him?
Unknown to him, it wasnât because of her willingness but the uneasiness. Could she give him any proper answer since their relationship status was already messed up..
Ryan moved his eyes to find her face as he told her, âI have something important to tell you.â
âAbout what?â Amaira raised her brows in confusion to which Ryan coughed, âAbout me.â
âIt was decided that only Javier would come from abroad and I will accompany him until his work is done. Now that itâs done....
