Jennifer can’t help but ask since she knew it too well that her heritage and everything was messed up since the time she learned about her parents not being one.

She wasn’t related to her biological parents. It triggered her to extreme heights. Moreover, her eagerness to know about everything that took place in the past increased rapidly in her chest.

But on the other hand, Javier’s smile froze when his eyes caught the same shine in her eyes. They twinkled on the topic of her adoptive parent’s history and she wished to learn everything. Javier’s heart gripped with aluminum chains when he took a deep breath.

He didn’t let go of Jennifer’s hand before saying it to her face. “There’s one more thing that you need to know.”

“Yes?” Jennifer was keen to know when he glared at her with the utmost seriousness. His love attitude quickly transformed into one of the most serious guys she’s ever come across.

“It is about your parents.” She heard him say and Jennifer doesn’t know why but instead of getting excited, she felt an ominous feeling dwelling upon her. She quickly felt her breath getting deeper with each second, “What is it?”

Meanwhile, Javier had to take a deep breath. His mind went through a series of questions but he did say to her, “I checked your background but there was no information left about your parents anywhere. It seemed your parents always kept a low profile in their case over years.”

“Moreover, you indeed have a lot of properties under your name but they all are either in a foreign place or in Smith land. The properties are from Johnson’s land as well. But the fact that these properties were brought straight under your name didn’t reflect any name of your parents in them.”

Hearing this, Jennifer frowned. She couldn’t believe what she heard from him. Even though Lucas was powerful and wealthy since he compromised the ruby for her which meant she was more worthy than the ruby in his eyes.

Was she even more wealthy than him? Who could be her parents who bought the property for her at such a young age, and not in one place but across the world?

While they are totally unaware of their identity, one thing was sure in their eyes- Jennifer wasn’t any ordinary person.

If everyone defines her as a princess, then the probability of her being one was very high. As Jennifer took a deep breath, she lifted her eyelids, “If that is the case, then let it be. Lucas did everything for the property. I can understand his point of view. But what about my adoptive parents?”

“They never took the property under their name which means they knew that I’m a wealthy child. In fact, they never displayed their intention of making me sign any documents. However, their intentions to kill me shows that if I’m caught with my real family, they will be in deep trouble.”

The images of her being dead appeared in Javier’s mind. Subconsciously, he tightened his grip around her hand as he looked into her eyes,”I don’t think there is a need to think about that anymore. You are safe and sound!”

“Indeed.”

“But Jennifer... it is very hard to know about your parents.” he said as he kissed his wife’s knuckles again as he dared not to tear their contact, “I know you are worried about many things. It isn’t wrong to know about your biological parents either. But that is a thing of the past which we will try to dig up but there are a lot of uncertainties.”

“I don’t want you to be upset anymore, at least for us and our children. Let alone who you are, it doesn’t matter to me. I’m all happy with you and you are Jennifer Johnsons now. That’s your identity as an individual and as my wife too.”

“We will build our homes, and you will not need anyone else except our children in your life anymore, my dear wife.” Hearing Javier’s words brought tears to her eyes.

She couldn’t help but find herself extremely grateful and blessed in this aspect. Despite so many hurdles, hearing him saying this was worth all the pain she experienced!

It brought relief, and emotional turmoil to go all in one go! Her heart was delighted with happiness that flooded, “Javier...everything will be fine, right?” he nodded his head at this.

“Give me some time. You don’t need your parents anymore. I’m always with you and will safeguard you with my life.” Javier’s eyes curved into a crystal moon as his smile reached up to his ears.

His eyes didn’t divert his attention from her at once as he declared,”After all, you are mine..and just mine, my baby girl. No one can harm you and I will take care of that...”

In the abandoned building, the man with gray hair stood in front of the two people who were kneeling down. His aura was imposing on others as he glared at the two people fiercely.

He held a gun in his hand that was already loaded and ready to kill whenever required.

However, he wasn’t alone. With him stood two different men who weren’t gentlemen either. Their face wasn’t less than that of God, but their eyes matched with the devil.

The words weren’t enough to describe how intimating the environment was around them, but the old man was the first one who questioned the two people.

“Tell me... why had you kidnapped Jennifer twenty-five years ago?”
