[Everything is a fictional thing]
The sudden pushing of the door of her cabin made Olivia turn around and face Jennifer who stood there with stoic expressions, âAnswer me without delay, Olivia. You and Austin know each other from before, Am I right?â
âJennifer...â
âANSWER ME!â
Jenniferâs voice raised up, and it made others avert their gazes in her direction too.
It took some time to adjust to the fact that another lady was yelling at their personal secretary, and in such a strong manner.
Inside the cabin, Oliviaâs face was filled with the paleness as that of the white sheet. Fear of the known and unknown started to plug her heart solidly.
.....
Those gazes held the control of the tears, which werenât hidden anymore from Jennifer.
âJennifer..you..heard..everything?âOlivia managed to slip those words, only to get a positive response from Jennifer, âI did. Answer me now.â
Till now, Jennifer had closed the cabinâs door. She was looking at Olivia with her horror eyes, trying to find the answers on various subjects.
âAustin and you..know each other from before. And this isnât simply the normal kind of friendship. It is more than that..â
Oliviaâs body stiffed at the meaningful smirk of Jennifer. At this point, shaken, she is done if she doesnât give an approved answer to this lady.
âY-You...are..right.. Austin and I have known each other for a long time.â
âBefore you started working for Lucas, correct?â Jennifer questioned and in return, she received the nod from Oliviaâs side.
At this point, Jennifer had averted her eyes for a minor second to calm her nerves. âThis is a new discovery now..â and she will be honest, this is the last thing she ever wished to face.
Austin is someone whom she met when she was abroad but never noticed that he also knows Olivia personally.
But how personally was their contact? It was yet to be revealed.
However, when Jennifer averted her gaze back at the shaken Olivia, her heart wasnât as excited. Instead of joy, there was uneasiness and dread for this lady. âSit down first.â
Not rebelling, Olivia had sat down with absolute silence in her mouth.
Moreover, Jenifer offered her a cup of water which she drank in just one go. Just from her sight, Jenniferâs eyes narrowed to realize that Olivia was shuttered on her truth being revealed to someone like her.
âYou can start telling me now, Olivia.â saying this, Jennifer sat on the desk, while Olivia had taken the seat.
She kept her face low throughout and without lifting it, she mumbled, âHow come you listened to our talks?â
âWhen you were fighting with Austin outside the company so openly and so loudly. If you werenât interested in letting anyone else find out about this relationship, you should have been more careful.â Jenniferâs sarcastic comment made Oliviaâs lips turn into a straight line.
âAnyways...I donât have the entire day for your talks. Start telling me and...â With the speech, another layer of the mist-covered Jenniferâs eyes, âDonât you dare to lie to my face otherwise, my wrath will be worse.â
The words were simply the clash of her world and Olivia knew that she was stuck in the worst position to be called for herself.
âI..I..will tell the truth.â
âGo ahead and speak.â Jennifer gave the orders when she was looking forward to learning the different things on her hand.
However, this wasnât excitement that was burning but curiosity.
At the same time, Olivia had clutched the glass more tightly in her hand. She managed to make her nerves settle in their place but her heart didnât stop hammering against their chest.
âWe both known each other since we were kids.â
âI was four years old and he was six at that time. Yet we werenât family friends either.â Olivia took a deep breath when she closed her eyes to bring all those memories back, â...Our paths crossed due to the unfortunate events. We both were kidnapped from our homes and were going to be sold abroad.â
âYou mean child trade?â Jenifer once again asked, as her brows lifted upwards in suspicion.
Another thick frown had curved on her forehead when she felt the utter disgust and the fuming anger raging.
âThere was child trade...at that time.â Never would have she realized that behind the smiles of and the face of Olivia and Austin, there lies this side too.
âYes, we were kidnapped from our families. Our families were searching from our back but we were taken to the ports from where we were going to be exported. And...I remember we were kept in big containers. And werenât allowed to go out.ân/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âAs long as I remember more children, But it was him and when I entered that container, I was crying badly because I..I.missed...my....parents. But it was..Austin...who had offered me water...and asked me not to cry..because that wouldnât change our destiny.â
Oliviaâs eyes were getting soaked by the steam of the tears. Some escaped even when she kept her eyes closed. But there was no scope for her heart not to be hurt since the pain of that time was still embedded in her mind like any other scar.
Even Jennifer was at a loss for words for these two. She was speechless for a few seconds and her mind went blank.
But then, she had raised her hand to keep it on her trembling fingers of Olivia to let her calm down, and sensing the warmth, Olivia muttered, â....We both knew each other from that time. Yet just before we were going to be exported, it was said that the cops were on their way...or something and we..were then given shelter in any old house..â
âI..I..donât remember much clearly but..it was Austin who stayed by my side and I had held his hand throughout, wherever we went.â Oliviaâs figment of the imagination can never disappear so easily.
These were the few times she was cherishing him even in the worst period of her life.
Now thinking back, she was nothing but a four-year-old naive girl who was truly lost and only seeking shelter in his arms...
âSo you and Austin... came to know about each other at that time? But how come you both stayed together..or did this imply that period?â Jennifer tried to ask in a soft voice too, but Olivia shook her head.
âWe werenât sold...cops caught those culprits and then, we were given into an orphanage home as the cops werenât interested in putting so much attention on us anymore...I and Austin resided in the same orphanage home.â
