The atmosphere between them seemed off.
Alan was still nervously wiping sweat from his forehead. He was afraid of offending the influential man. next to him and overlooked the strange vibes. When the assistant director questioned him, he finally glanced over and inquired, âIs it there?â
The assistant director nodded and said firmly, âYes, it feels like theyâre⦠a couple.â
Having worked on many productions, he had seen enough relationships to recognise the signs.
The way they interacted, sharing food and exchanging sweet glances, was a clear indication of a romantic relationship.
But before he could continue, Alan interrupted sternly. âShh, donât talk nonsense!â
Yet the assistant directorâs words made him recall something. George specifically insisted that Giselleâs role was irreplaceable when investing in their movie.
On the same day. Jordan also invested in their film.
Recalling industry rumours and seeing how familiar George was with Jordanâs sister, it was clear as day that George was treating her well because of his feelings for her brother.
In an instant, he became even more convinced of his previous suspicions.
Clearing his throat, he whispered to the bewildered assistant director, âIf they were a couple, Milly wouldnât be acting so distant with him. Itâs obvious Mr. Tate is being nice to her because sheâs Jordanâs
sister.â
The assistant director was shocked by the explanation.
Mr. Burnett? He was nice to Milly because of her brother?
There were rumours that the two were close because they were mutually interested, with some even claiming to have seen them enter a hotel together.

When George complimented the food, she raised an eyebrow, then narrowed her eyes mischievously. She beamed at him and placed a bright red chili on his plate.

But she had underestimated Georgeâs resolve. He ate the chili with a blank face. George elegantly wiped his lips and said, âHmm, not bad.â There wasnât the slightest sign of discomfort on his face.
Milly remained silent.
She was not convinced, so she placed a piece of raw garlic on his plate and watched, hopefully.
Once again, George didnât disappoint. He swallowed it without a grimace.
Millyâs eyes widened. All night, she continued to find unpleasant foods for him.
All night, George ended up eating lots of seasoning ingredients.
Despite the unusual meal, Georgeâs stern face gradually softened with each bite, and the cold aura around him began to dissipate.
From the farthest corner of the room, Stephanie watched them closely. When she saw George eat the food Milly gave him, she clenched her fists and glared at Milly with intense jealousy.
Why?
Why did Milly always get what I dreamed of so effortlessly?
Iâm not going to accept this!
Taking a deep breath, she suppressed the rage in her eyes, and when she looked up, she had returned to her usual timid demeanour.
âMichelle, I heard you joined this production to win the role of Giselle; is that true?â Stephanie said with a smile to Michelle, who was sitting and eating nearby. âAre you really okay with giving up the role just like that?â
Someone suddenly addressed Michelle, who had been keeping a low profile all evening. She paused a little and slowly swallowed her food before looking up at the young, bold girl beside her.
She had to admit that it was rare to hear someone speak so frankly in the chaotic entertainment industry.
Michelle asked with a halfâsmile, âWhat do you mean?â
When Michelle responded to her words, Stephanie assumed she was interested. Michelle had grasped on to her implication at this point. She calmly looked at Stephanie and urged, âJust say what you have in mind. I donât like beating around the bush.â
