Few Days later
Everything is going well in Veer and Preet's life. They are trying to mend their relationship. Preet is quite happy with the progress they are making while Veer is trying his best to make Preet and himself feel comfortable in their relationship. He genuinely wanted to make their relationship work.
Right now they are getting ready for their work. Preet clip her hair in the back using a clutcher. She smile at herself satisfied with her look. She look at Veer who stand behind her and started brushing his hair.
Preet turn around to face him and look at his face. He look down at her with furrowed eyebrows and silently asked her what happen.
"You tie...it is looking little messy," She said and started adjusting it properly.
He is staring at her suddenly feeling a warm feeling inside his chest.
"Done," she said with a smile and look at him.
She stares into his eyes. Her palms were resting on his chest, she could feel his rapid heartbeats under her palm.
Veer raises his hand slowly and tucks her hair strand which escapes from the clutcher. His eyes looked deep into her hazel orbs and felt himself drowning in them.
"Your eyes...they are beautiful," he murmured in a daze while admiring them.
Preet felt her heart skip a beat and a shy smile formed on her face. She bit her lips to control her heart from bursting with joy.
This made his gaze fell on her lips which turn red due to her biting. Veer look up at her eyes which were glowing then again gaze her lips.
His fingers which were brushing her hair back now lightly caressing her jaw.
They were so lost into each other they didn't know how the distance between them decreases and now their face is just few inches away.
Sliding his fingers from her jaw to her chin, Veer raise her face to see her beautiful face. He lean toward her making her close her eyes.
Standing on her toes, Preet tighten her grip on his shirt while breathing heavily.
Veer close his eyes as their nose brushes. His lips parted slightly feeling her breath on his lips.
Their lips almost touch with each other when suddenly his phone started ringing disturbing their moment. They open their eyes coming out of their trance. They suddenly pull away feeling embarrassed and awkward.
Veer look away from her face which was glowing red due to blush. He took out his phone while cursing the caller, feeling frustrated and angry with that person.
Their eyes again met for a second before he down at his phone while
Preet turn around facing her back toward him. She felt her face burning and look at her face in the mirror. She gasped seeing her face flushed. Then she look at Veer who is talking in the phone. Suddenly a smile appeared on her face recalling their moment few minutes ago.
She went out of the room seeing him engrossed in the call. Veer who saw her slipping out of the room smile lightly before shaking his head.
Preet reached the dining hall. She smiles at Avni who was setting the table for breakfast.
She touch Damini, Sumitra and Urmila's feet and greet them.
"Don't get me wrong Preet but Avni is more responsible than you, right Damini ji? " Sumitra mock her to which Preet look at her and smile tightly.
"I mean...you should be the one to see the arrangements in the kitchen instead of Avni," Damini also look at Preet with a cold expression before moving her eyes from her.
"Sorry Nani ji...I will take care from next time," Preet apologized before helping Avni.
"Nowadays children don't have a sense of responsibility," Sumitra said to Damini while taunting Preet.
Preet feel hurt by her remark but didn't said anything considering she is a family and also an elder.
"Ignore her Bhabhi" Avni told her giving her a small smile. Preet nodded while faking a smile.
Everyone was having their breakfast in silence while Preet was feeling weird feeling someone's eyes on her. She look up to see everyone is looking down in their plate.
Furrowing at herself, she again look down at her plate while eating her breakfast.
Veer take a glance at her and sigh seeing her enjoying the breakfast.
"Preet," Preet was going toward her car but hearing her name she turn and saw Veer coming toward her.
She gulped and her breath slows down as the scene of their almost kissing comes into her mind.
Veer stops in front of her and look at her.
"Actually, Today is one of my business partner's reception party and he invited us. Would you accompany me there?" he asked her in a soft voice.
Preet smiled at his nervousness before nodding her head,
"I would love to,"
"Thank you. We will leave at 8, okay?" He told her making her nod.
"Okay then I am leaving. See you in the evening," He give her small nod and open the door for her as she turn toward her.
"Thanks," she muttered and sat inside the car.
Closing the car door, he blinks his eyes at her with a little smile. Soon she drove off from there.
He also leaves for the office after her car disappears from his sight.
Unknown to them, Sumitra was looking at them from her room's window and smirking evilly.
"Let's begin the game,"
Preet run out of her car while looking at her watch which was showing 7:20 pm.
"God! I am so late. Run Preet!!"
She entered Rajvansh Villa in a hurry without looking at the ladies sitting in the living room.
Sumitra sigh then look at Damini who has her eyes fixed on Preet as she was climbing the stairs. She smirk and smile looking at Urmila who has a similar smile on her face.
"Ma, I am not liking Preet behavior since last few days. You should do something. She has been really careless and irresponsible. Avni is looking after everything instead of enjoying the early days of her marriage. You should do something," Urmila told her with a sad and angry tone. Damini listen to her carefully try to understand what she is trying to imply.
"I don't know if I should tell you this but since Papa Ji's will has been revealed she is behaving weird," Damini frown at her.
"Now I doubt that she is just after the money and property. She was always a dotting and responsible daughter in law before the will was announced" Damini has a blank face which confuses both mother and daughter.
"I will see...go see the arrangement for dinner," Hearing her commanding voice, Urmila nodded and went to the kitchen.
Damini again got busy reading a book that she was reading before.
"Preet, we are getting late!" Veer informed while wearing his cuff links.
"Five minutes!!" comes Preet's voice comes from inside the closet.
He sigh as she was saying the same thing for half an hour. Since he come she is inside the closet getting ready.
Why woman takes so much time! He arrived after her but see here he is all ready.
He sat on the couch while waiting for her. He was doing something on his phone he heard the door of the closet slide open. He turn his head but his body freezes looking at the beauty in front of his eyes.
For a second he forget to breath while looking at his wife who was looking like a goddess in Saree.
Preet felt shy under his intense gaze. She fidgets with her fingers and softly call him,
"Veer,"
"Huh?" he suddenly comes out the spell of her beautiful. He cleared his throat and looks away from her as she is distracting him by her beauty.
"We should leave now," Preet nodded and followed him as they went out of their room.
"Let me inform Dadi about us," Preet told as they were about to step out of the house.
"Hmm, I am waiting in the car. Come fast," Veer went out while Preet started going toward Damini's room.
She saw Sumitra sitting in the living. She give her a smile.
"Going somewhere, huh?" Sumitra asked with a smiling.
"Ji, Nani ji...did you see Dadi??" She asked her.
"She is praying in the Pooja room. You want something?"
"Nothing just come to inform her that we are going in a party and will be late,"Preet told her.
"I will tell her. Don't worry. Go enjoy yourself," Sumitra assure her.
"Thank you," Sumitra nodded at her while smiling sweetly.
Preet left from there while smiling.
Sumitra smirked and shook her head watching Preet leaving with a soft smile on her face.
