Chapter 2: 2. Luca

Elliott wouldn't stop smirking all the way back to his room. Luca was really considering kicking him in the gut. But that wouldn't be a very nice thing to do to one of his very best friends.

Aspen was a great guard and an every better friend and Luca was happy he had met him and gave him a job to become a royal guard. So he had no good excuse to have such hating feelings toward him right now.

Of course it was because of that... that young man.

He was so beautiful! Luca almost fell right of his horse when he had glared at Isaac for insulting Aspen. The fierce gleam in his eyes. His beautiful skin and gorgeous dark locks ruffling in the wind. His eyes pools of swirling darkness that lured you in even how you tried to fight it.

And taken. He was very very taken.

He shook his head trying to rid himself of the thoughts.

He only met the guy once. That was hardly enough to fall in love. Besides he belonged to one of his only friends. He would never be so stupid to lose a friend who treated him like he was a person instead of just a crownprince.

"So are you gonna eat it or you gonna keep on staring at it?" Elliot asked when they entered his quarters. The room was very big and filled with the most expensive stuff. all things his dad had bought of course. Luca was the crown prince but he was to busy roaming around, hunting and fighting in battles to buy dumb stuff for his room.

"I am gonna eat it." He told Elliot. It was just a little pastry. He had hundreds from dozens of wonderful cooks from all over the world. There was nothing special about this one.

Just that someone pretty gave it to him. Someone who seemed very kind and giving.

And someone who didn't know who he was.

It was the best thing he ever had! He blamed it on his hunger. But then his mind went back to Cihan, Aspen had called him. He sure wasn't from around here.

"Perhaps we should have sent someone to bring him home safely." He murmured while licking of his fingers. Maybe it wasn't just because of Cihan. Maybe this was just so terribly good that he never had anything that could possibly compare.

Elliot smirked.

"Maybe you should have flirted a little better!" Luca rolled his eyes.

"He is taken." He wasn't gonna defense himself. He always knew he preferred men above woman. Non of his real friends or family minded that.

And he had chased a few of them. But it never ended well.

They either only wanted him because he was gonna be king. Or didn't because of the same reason. Beside he never fell in love with any of them. Perhaps he was just not able to fall in love. He had met enough great people. He should have fallen with someone by now, anyone...

"How do you know? You ask him?"

Elliot sat on the edge of the table while Luca let himself fall in the seat by the fire place.

"No.... but you saw him and Aspen. They are clearly very close."

"So? you didn't ask Aspen if it was his lover either! And he never mentioned having one either!"

Luca shook his head. He didn't want to get his hopes up for nothing. The boy may never come back anyway. He might never see him again.

Elliot sighed.

"You know. You really need a husband."

Luca snorted And rolled his eyes.

"Your acting like my parents."

"They just don't want you to be alone for the rest of your life. And they don't want you to marry someone you don't love."

Elliot was probably talking about the request of marriage. It begane to be quit a pile of letters from lords and dukes and neighboring kingdoms. All trying to get him to marry their daughter or the occasional son.

And then he didn't even talk about the once that invited theirself to the castle to bother him.

He really had tried to just fall for one of them, but nothing happened.

Perhaps he was just meant to be alone. Maybe he would just never fall in love with anyone...

He he already turned twenty eight.

Normal princes married a decade before that...

He would take over the throne very soon... and doing that alone didn't really seem like something he wanted.

"He really was something, huh!"

Elliot grinned.

"Just ask Aspen who he is? I mean what's the worst that can happen. That they are not together and you might even have a shot. Maybe you two would even fall in love!"

Luca shook his head and jumped up.

"We just met him for a couple of minutes... let's not start overreacting!"

"Where are you going?" His personal guard asked. He could just hear the grin on his face. These people knew him way to well.

"I am gonna train."

"Ask Aspen!"

"Shut up!"
