"But how??!!!" I asked.
They both looked confused too.
"We don't know, Melanie." Georgia said. How can this happen?! I've never heard of something like this happening. But what is my other power?
"W - What is my other power?" I asked curiously.
"It's the Air element." Mrs. Withersfield said. Air?!! My father's?! Could this be because of my weird hair colour?
"It could be." Mrs. Withersfield said. I looked up at her. Oh she read my mind.
"Melanie, I want you to come to my office after dinner, around 8:30 pm. Okay?" She said. I nodded.
"You may leave now." She said and just as I was about to leave the room service called out to me.
"Melanie, don't tell anyone about this. Not even your closest friends. Not even you parents. If anyone does ask you about your power, then say that you have the Fire element. Don't mention the second power." She said. I nodded.
"Don't forget to meet me later in my office." She reminded before I left the room.
I walked straight to find another door in front of me. I pushed open it and found students who finished their tests sitting there peacefully.
"Melanie!!" Lori shouted running towards me. I smiled.
"Hey Lori. How did it go?" I asked.
"It went great!! I got the water element. Yay!!" She said excitedly. I smiled wide.
"That's great!!" I said.
"What about you?" She asked.
"I got the Fire element! It's not what I expected to get but I find it really cool!!" I said. I was actually quite excited.
"I'm happy as long as you are!!" She said. I so badly wanted to tell her about my other power but I couldn't.
"Mel I want you to meet someone. Come with me." Lori pulled me to a corner where I saw a girl maybe around 20 years or so.
Lori herself was 19 years while I was 17. The shocking thing was that, like me and Lori, she too had blonde hair with green streaks in them.
"Mel, meet Alexia Horton. She's 20 years. Alexia this is Melanie Grace. She's 17 years." Lori introduced us. I smiled at her.
"Hey there. As she said, I'm Melanie Grace. You can call me Mel. I have the Fire element." I said.
"Hi. I'm Alexia Horton. Call me Alex. I have the Earth element." She said and we shook hands.
"Don't mean to be rude, but is your hair naturally like that or what?" I asked.
"It's naturally like this and I suppose it's the same with you'll?" She asked. We nodded. She smiled.
"So let's be great friends, huh?" She asked, placing her hand in the middle. We smiled and placed our hands over hers.
"Friends forever!!" We yelled and threw back our hands. We laughed slightly at our silly act.
"Students, please come and tell me your power one by one so that I can give you your schedule." A lady in her thirties came and announced. We all did as told and got our schedules.
"What's your schedule, Mel?" Lori asked. I showed her my schedule.

"You two have Elemental history together. And we all three have have Sparring (Weapons) and Defense together." Lori said.
"Everybody, those who are done please come to the main hall for breakfast!" Someone said over the speakers. We three headed to the main hall together.
After breakfast, Alex and I left for our first class. I so badly wanted to cover my head. I wish I had both my hoodie. I don't like it when people pay attention to me. I rather be the invisible person no one pays attention to. Alex just walked straight, with her head held high.
"Chill Mel. They're staring at you only because you're different than them. You're better than them." Alex said smiling at me. I smiled back. We reached our classes and took our seats.
"I think this is gonna be boring." I said. "I guess so. I never liked history either." Alex said.
That's when our sir came in and introduced himself.
"Hello students. I'm Richard Newman. You may call me Sir Richard. And I know what you people must be thinking. 'I bet Elemental history sucks. It's gonna be so boring. And he's just gonna go on blabbering shit like blah blah blah blah blah blah.' Am I right? But let me tell you, Elemental history is not a boring subject. You will learn about who was the first person to acquire powers, who spread the knowledge about it, who founded this wonderful academy and also about the Great Six who put the evil beast into deep sleep. They also say that the beast is gonna wake up one day and will try to cause destruction again. The Great Six will also be reincarnated and would put an end to this vengeful beast. So shall we begin class?" He said and started telling us about the first people who got these powers and how.
"I can't believe this! I actually found history interesting! I wanted to know more about what happened in the war between The Great Six and the beast." I said.
"Me too. Though I knew about this before too but I can hear it again and again." Alex said.
"See you in lunch Alex!" I said and walked away for my next class.
Well that wasn't bad. We learned how to light a candle and also how to increase and decrease the size of our flames. And it looked like I was a fast learner or maybe I'm just good at it.
I hope she makes us do something more challenging next class. What do I have now? Sparring! Lori also has the same class with me.
I rushed to Room : 1B.
I entered and found few students in it. I tried to spot Lori in the sea of people and it wasn't difficult when you hair stands out like that.
I tapped her shoulder and she turned.
"Mel! I thought you got lost!" She exclaimed.
"Really? Shouldn't I be the one saying that to you?" I retorted. She scratched the back of her neck and smiled sheepishly.
"Oh forget that. Now let's go change into our training suits." She said and dragged me into the girls changing room. We wore the tracksuit assigned for us and walked out. Mine was red and white while hers was blue and white.
"Everybody quiet down!!!" A yell hushed everyone in the room that you could hear a pin drop. There stood a buffy man and a woman beside him who looked really strong too.
"Good. Now brats listen up! I'm Rex Arnold, Sparring instructor for the guys and this is Eva Arnold, Sparring instructor for the girls." He said.
"Are you'll married?" Someone from the back asked.
"Who was that?" Miss Eva asked. A guy raised his hand. He looked quite strong too.
"Yes we are. So boys don't even try to hit on her." Rex said. The guys nodded.
"I don't hear you!" He said.
"Yes sir!" The guys yelled. Rex nodded.
"Now I want you all to pair up and practice your kicks and punches on each other." He said.
"Girls do the same." Eva said. Lori and I quickly paired up and started throwing punches on each other.
After a good hour or so we were finally done. Lori and I were dripping with sweat from head to toe. We quickly changed into our uniforms and headed to the main hall for lunch.
We spotted Alex sitting on the same table we were sitting on for breakfast. We saw that there were 2 other girls with her too. We approached them and greeted them.
They both looked at us in shock but it quickly vanished.
"Hi! I'm Sophia Robertson. I'm 19 years old and I have the air element." The girl with dark curly brown hair said.
"And I'm Chelsea Frederick. I'm 19 too and I have the Earth element." The girl beside her with straight short hazel coloured hair said.
"Hi guys! I'm Lorraine Caister. Call me Lori. I'm 19 too and I have the water element." Lori said.
"I'm Melanie Grace. I'm 17 years old and I have the Fire element." I said.
"You're 17?! Wow!" Sophia said. I just smiled.
"I met Chelsea in my class so I thought of inviting her over. I hope you'll don't mind?" Alex asked.
"Of course not! Any friend if yours is ours." I said. Lori nodded.
"There's one more actually. She'll be here any minute." Chelsea said. That's when a girl with shiny blonde hair came and sat down beside her.
"Hi. I'm Jeanette Duncan. I'm 20 years old and I have the Laser eye. I can shoot lasers from my eyes which can burn a person in just few seconds." She said.
"Cool." Lori muttered. Jeanette smiled shyly. We ate our lunch while talking about just about anything.
Just as I was about to go throw my trash, the doors of the main hall opened and all the girls started squealing in delight.
I turned to see three boys come in. What shocked me was that they has streaks in their hair too. And I don't think they've dyed it or anything cause dying our hair is not much of a fashion here you see.
One had black hair with dark grey streaks, the other had dark blonde hair with golden streaks. And the on one in the middle had silvery white hair with light blue streaks. He also had sharp icy blue eyes.
I thought that just for a second our eyes met but I must be hallucinating. I sat down on my seat and listened to what the girls were saying.
"Me too! I guess it took her about ten minutes to know what power I had. For a second I thought that I didn't have a power and I got so scared. But then I remembered that every single person has a power." Sophia said.
What? They took 10 minutes? But I was done in about 10 seconds.
"I went through the same thing." Chelsea said and Jeanette nodded.
I looked at Lori and Alex. They too had a confused expression. The bell rang indicating that lunch break was over. I got up to leave for my next class.
The rest of the day just went slowly. After English I had Sparring again along with Lori and Alex.
We were taught how to use the weapons. We would have to choose one specific weapon tomorrow which would be our partner till we pass out or even after.
I already knew what I was going to choose. The sword. We had a connection you see.
After Sparring we had defense in which there were robots who kept attacking us. We just had to try to do defend ourselves. I didn't do so bad in it.
Now I have some free time and I thought of going to the library so that I could know more about these powers of mine. But just midway I heard a voice in my head. Supposedly the headmaster's.
Melanie I want you to come to my office right now. And please make it quick.
Is that you Mrs. Withersfield?
Yes, dear it's me.
Okay. I'll be there in a minute. I then turned my direction towards the principal's office. I walked there quietly.
I wonder, why did she call me now? Is there something else I need to know?
