21 - Chapter Twenty-One - Siryn's Point Of View.

Thorn grew faster than Lucio and I wanted him to before we could even

try to understand or look for the time we lost. He was a year old. We

didn't know how but it was true. The black box had arrived the day

before but the note said Thorn wasn't to have his birthday present until

his birthday. It was clear who the box was from. Thorn had found the

box and sniffed it, Lucio and I didn't say anything about that. We knew

it was strange but shit, his whole birth had been. I picked Thorn off the

floor, his silk cape now having been turned into a real blanket was

tucked into his little arms. Sometimes I swore he loved that thing more

than even Lucio or me.

I had done some more research on the Creature known as a male breed

of The Skorwns that saved my son. I didn't regret what I did to save

him, but I was worried about how I was going to explain to him that I

traded his freedom so he could be alive. Some part of me knew he

would be okay though. After Thorn had his nap I thought to let him

have the box from the male. Opening it I was pleasantly surprised,

there was a black silk blanket and a necklace of amber coloured stones.

Grabbing the card inside it read.

Dear little wolf,

I was not sure what to get a child of a year as I don't know anything

about children. A great male friend of mine helped me pick out the

items. The necklace you have in the box is a teething necklace, as you

probably thought as well your worried about him choking on the little

stones, I was assured that would never happen.

Py

Looking over the necklace once more I went and placed it around

Thorn's neck. He liked chewing on things so this was a great gift. The

blanket was the same Black silk but it had gold silk stars on to it as well.

The blanket was beautiful and I knew thorn would love it,

Lucio took thorn to have a bath after lunch and my parents and

grandfather showed up just after Thorn got out of the bath. Thorn was

dragging his new blanket around and my grandfather spoke about it

first.

"So he sent Thorn something for his birthday huh?"

"Yes, he did."

"Did he say anything?"

"He sent a note as well"

Grabbing the note I gave it to my grandfather who read it and passed it

onto my father leno. I saw my father leno smile as he gave the note

back.

"Thorn really loves the black silk things from that male, P."

"He has expensive tastes like his father,” Lucio says from the kitchen.

Thorn pulled his new blanket up onto the couch as he curled up. He

was tired. You could see it on his sweet little face. Leaving the room I

went grab his playpen. When I returned to the room he was gone. My

heart froze as I saw the back door open.

“Lucio Thorn has gotten outside, Oh fuck we need to find him!"

Lucio raced down the stairs and we bolted outside, Lucio shifted to

track his scent well and I looked and followed his little footprints. My

heart was thundering in my chest. Lucio suddenly took off back towards

the house and I ran after him. In the middle of our backyard, I saw

Thorn sitting on the hip of the black-robed male that was with the man

that saved Thorn.

His head was bowed slightly when we came.

"My apologies, Thorn must have felt my master in the area and went

looking for him. *

"Thank you."

"It was our fault,"

Thorn was handed back to me and he looked up at the evening sky and

even though he was only a year you could see he had a longing. It took

all I had but I spoke.

“Tell him he is welcome to visit Thorn. He had done more than I can

ever thank him for.

"I will do that, though I doubt he will, My master is not one for children,

however, I have a feeling this child is different.”

"As do I, thank you..."

"My name is Saxor, the male that saved Thorn, his name is Pyro.

Before I could say any more the male disappeared. Taking Thorn back

inside I was left to wonder as I stared at my child what Thorn and this

male, Pyro's connection was and would be like in the future.

Only time would tell.
