13 - Chapter Thirteen - Siryn's Point Of View.

It was well into midday when I woke up. Getting up to pee I noticed

that we had things in the attached bathroom we didn't have the night

before. Stumbling outside I noticed Dakota and Lucio talking and

having a drink. My father Leno was the first to notice me. He came over

and hugged me.

"Nice to see you after two days of sleep.”

"I slept for two days?"

"You did. your body needed to recover.”

"No wonder. I thought someone had pranked me. *

Walking over to Lucio I flopped in his lap knocking us both out of the

chair and onto the ground.

“I'm happy to see you finally awake.”

"I'm happy to see you too," I said, winking and slightly shoving my

morning wood against him.

"Really. I didn't raise you like that.” I heard my father Leno whine.

Getting off Lucio I helped him up and said sorry for bulldozing him into

the dirt as my father called it. Lucio said something dirty that only I

seemed to catch and it made my mouth hang open. He made a

comment about how he wasn't going to say sorry when he bulldozed

me into the mattress. Putting space between me and my alpha mate so

I didn't show him how and where to bulldoze me, I went to look for

food. opening the fridge I found a bunch of different plates covered in

clingfilm with my name printed quite nicely on them. The scent that

clung to the plates had me smiling, My mate had done that for me.

Grabbing the food I heated it up and ate it solely enjoying the flavours

of the cooked food. I wasn't really sure who had made it but it was

pretty darn good. I silently found myself wondering if Lucio knew how

to cook for himself. Surely he knew how to cook the basics, But I wasn't

sure if I liked the idea of him cooking with his eyes being the way they

are. It worried me that he would injure himself and I didn't like the

feeling I got knowing that.

Hunting Lucio down later, I smiled to myself, the comb and scissors in

my hand. It was time for his new haircut. I could wait to watch all the

curly long hair hit the floor, Lucio had a handsome face and I wanted to

see more of it open and without the curtain of hair that covered it. Call

me picky but i just knew he would look better with short hair. I just

knew it.

Checking his office he wasn't there and that seemed odd to me. I didn't

figure he would be too far from his office because he never was so I

hunted him down some more. I checked the kitchen, the bathrooms,

the office, the living room and all the other rooms in the house that I

figured he would be in, but I didn't have any luck. It was like he

vanished from sight. Backtracking, I double checked all the rooms again

and still coulded find him. That was super odd for me. Was he hiding

because he knew I wanted to cut his hair?

Sighing I flopped on the couch after dropping the scissors and the

comb on the floor. I would have to wait until he came back from

wherever he was to cut his hair. It really wasn't a long wait like I thought

it would be. Maybe twenty minutes at the most. He immediately sensed

me as soon as he came through the door. He stopped and turned to

look at me.

“What are you doing?”

“Well, I've eaten and then i went to look for you and couldn't find you,

so i flopped on the couch.”

“Why were you looking for me.”

“I wanted to trim your hair, you need a haircut. I want to see more of

your face. I think it's handsome and i would like to see more after all.”

“I've been meaning to trim it, But you would probably do a way better

job, since you can see what you're doing and I can't. So yes that sounds

pretty good actually.”

“I'm glad you are accepting of your haircut, because I kind of thought

you wouldn't allow me to cut your hair.”

“I thought about saying no, but you're right I do need a haircut after

all.”

Lucio took my hand in his as I pulled him down the hall quickly to the

bathroom. I made him sit on the toilet so I could cut his hair and not

have to climb on the counter to reach his damn head. I had him pull off

his shirt so that it didn't get covered in hairs and I took a good long

look at him. He was gaining weight pretty quickly. Thanks to the wolf

genes, we both gained and lost weight pretty freaking quickly in times

of stress or need and such. Grabbing the comb off the counter I

brushed through his hair once to see what way the curls on his head fell

before I combed it again this time to detangle it for cutting after I

dampened it, but first things first. The detangling part. His curls were

surprisingly very soft and bouncy when you touched them. We had a

conversation as I combed his hair throughout untangling it.

“What was one of your favourite memories from childhood?”

“When I was a young boy my father caught a rabbit for us for dinner.

He thought he had killed it but it had fainted when he grabbed it and it

woke up when he brought it inside to clean and cook it. But first he had

left it on the countertop and I can just remember how mad my mother

was to have to help chase our dinner around the house. It took so long

to catch it too.”

“Your parents sound amazing Lucio.”

“They had really good and really bad moments, but yes they were

amazing. They raised me the best they could and taught me how to

look after the pack.”

“Tell me about your parents? I've met them but I want to meet them

through your eyes, not mine.”

“My father Diego is the Beta. He's bossy and loud and tends to lose his

temper even with my birth father. My birth father Leno is gentle and

kind and he balances out my father's crazy ass behavior all the time.

They complement each other oddly and I love it. My birth father teases

my dad all the time saying he's more wolf than human and that's why

he's always so cranky towards everything but his close family. I know

my parents had problems early on in their mating but they worked it

out and that makes them pretty great people.”

“They sound like really kick ass people. It's a shame I can't see them like

you can.”

After finishing detangling his hair I moved on to wetting it and

combing it all over again until just before soaking wet. When the water

droplets touched his face he didn't seem all that happy for the haircut

anymore. But he seemed to suck it up and deal with the water. I found

this to be very sweet of him to let me have my way and to have his hair

trimmed like I wanted. Splitting his hair into sections I started to figure

out exactly what I wanted to cut his hair like. There were so many

decisions because of the length of it. Settling on cutting it short on the

sides and slightly longer on the top. Cutting the very first piece was

terror. It meant there was no going back. Lucio didn't even flinch; he

just sat there waiting for more hair to fall.

More and more cuts I made and more and more his face became

noticeable. Combing it and cutting it to make it even, over and over

again.

He looked really good. Combing it one last time to style it. he looked

super good. You could see all of his face and features

Slipping my hand through his hair to mess it up also led to me seeing if

I could still grab and tug his hair later. And yes, I could. The look on his

well I did and after I did tug his hair was priceless.

"Well how do I look?"

"Very handsome."

"Yeah?"

"Yes, absolutely.”

The light now reached his lips and cheeks and all over his face that

wouldn't see sun unless it was pulled back.

Looking at him longer than I should have I felt compelled to touch him.

He jumped when I dragged the pad of my thumb over his bottom lip.

Retracting my hand quickly I apologized. He took my apologies before

he left, he still was super busy and needed to finish his paperwork that

had been in his office from whenever he had left the last time

Saying goodbye to him he made his way back to his office to get back

to work. I smiled to myself even after he left. I loved the hair cut on him.

It made him look clean, calm and approachable. I liked that. He looked

like a right proper alpha, not the man from before, and upgraded and

well cleaned up version maybe. I hoped he would like just the way that I

did when he tried to style it all on his own.

It wasn't till later when it started to get darker than I asked Lucio how

he could see even though he was blind.

"I can map out things with sound vibrations. Like when I hum. I know

what you looked like when I hummed the first time. Your details just

helped me add colours to what I was looking at."

"That's amazing."

"Even though I can see that way I would give it up if I could see you for

just a few moments with normal eyes.”

Before I could comfort him he walked away from me. I knew he needed

to be on his own but I couldn't just let him walk away like that. I needed

to comfort him. Even if it was just for me. Running behind him I found

him sitting on the couch in the den and he had a book in his hands. He

wasn't reading anything though, he was sniffing the pages of the book.

It was hand wrote and the closer I got the more I recognized it. My

diary from my early teens.

"Your birth father brought this for you this morning. I forgot where I

had put it until I came in here. What is this? It smells of ink and you.

Right until the end where it smells like sweet rain.”

"Its... my uh diary from when I was a small teenager. The last page

smells like sweet rain because I cried writing it."

"What is it about... I mean if you don't mind I ask.”

"I do believe that was the day my goldfish mike had died.”

"You had a goldfish... named Mike."

"Hey, I was thirteen. give me a break. "

We both broke out laughing that had us in the same space. Lucio

leaned in at the same time I did and sparks tingled threw my lips as we

kissed. Neither of us pulled back instead the kissed deepened until we

were both panting for air.
