11 - Chapter Eleven - Quinn Wolfin's Point Of View.
Two weeks had gone by since the vampire Thanatos showed up and
Kane's been drilling all the wolves every day and every night, we rarely
see each other, that alone pissed me off, but the thing that made me
really angry was the fact that he left me to take care of forest twenty-
four hours a day, seven days a week.
Today was particularly a really bad day, I had slept like crap and my
mate was nowhere to be seen. The omegas were in the kitchen making
the pack lunch when I got up, Forest was still asleep and I was really
craving coffee, I turned the coffee pot on and waited for it to brew,
when it was almost done I heard Forest crying upstairs so I went up to
get him when I came back downstairs with little Forest on my hip my
coffee was gone, the whole pot was gone. the empty cup I had sitting
out was still there though. I grabbed the cup and picked it off the
counter only to smash it on the countertop moments later when Forest
screamed in my ear.
I was in a really bad mood now. I went hunting down my mate, I found
him and the beta training a set of young wolves. I cleared my throat
and began to tap my foot. When I finally got his attention he didn't
look at all happy to see me. I shoved Forest lightly into his arms and
looked at all the young wolves.
"The first rule in being a good Werewolf, Pay attention to you're fucking
mate and childrenâ after I spoke I took Forest from the omega that
Kane had handed him to and walked away back to the house. Kane
came in and an hour later when I had just finished putting Forest for his
nap, and sat down to watch t.v. He cleared his throat attempting to get
my attention and I just turned the t.v up. so he stood right in the way
and I knew he wouldn't move, so I turned the t.v off and went to our
bedroom to check on the baby. He finally got pissed off and yelled at
me.
"Can't we just talk about what happened instead-----"
He was cut off when Forest began to cry, really loudly.
"Great one, Alpha, yell and make the baby cry because you can't own
up to the fact you're to busy for your family!"
I stomped to Forest nursery and grabbed Forest and tried to put him to
sleep, he wouldn't go back to sleep. I laid him back in his crib and let
him cry. Kane went in and picked him up and he stopped crying and
just looked at Kane. Kane went and sat in the rocking chair with the
baby. I did the most unthinkable thing possible, I packed a bag of my
clothing and a bag of Forest's clothing and waited till Kane said he was
going to shower, I picked Forest up and grabbed the two bags and
walked outside and into the garage, I saw the beta but I was not at all
bothered. I grabbed the car keys and unlocked the car and buckled
Forest into the car seat. I got into the front seat and started the car and
began driving, I saw Kane running out of the house door screaming for
one of the guys to stop me but I was already far enough down the road
that one of the guys couldn't get me. Stress, that what made me do
this, just stress. The fact I had a driver's permit was a saving grace. I
called Luanne as soon as I was on the highway,
"Hello, this is Luanne, Who's this?"
"Hi Lu-- Mom, Its Quinn, I'm coming home, just me and Forest, I'll be
there by tomorrow night, and don't tell Kane I'm on my way if he calls,
we had a fight you could say.â
"I'l be waiting for you, take care sweetheart, drive safe.â
"Thank you."
"Take care, drive safe.â
I stopped at a motel for the night after I stopped at a store and got a
few things for Forest, I got my room and laid Forest to sleep for the
night. There was a knock on the door I went to answer it, I opened the
door saw Thanatos. He looked far from happy,
"Have you any idea how long I have looked for you, Jesus Quinn, You're
mate has nearly all his wolves looking for you, you need to go home!"
"I can't go back to him, He doesn't care about me or Forest! All it is with
him is work, work and more work. I alone can not look after a child!"
"Where are you going? Then so I can tell him so he calm's down and
stops worrying!"
"I'm going home, that's all you need to tell him!"
" Well then, please be safe and look after my mate.
He walked away and then he was gone, I laid down after I locked the
door and went to sleep when I woke up at eight and fed Forest
changed him and got back on the road by one pm. Traffic, well there
was none. I pulled into my dad's driveway at five p.m and saw my dad
fly down the steps of the house, He looked like he had been freaking
out his face was flushed pale.
"Dad are you okay?"
"Quinn I'm so glad to see you, Kane called and said you ran off for no
reason! You had me worried!"
Luanne came outside and saw me. "Hey sweetie, How was the drive?"
"It was long, but it was alright"
âLuanne, How long have you known Quinn was safe?"
"Since yesterday, He called and told me he would be coming for a bit, I
left a note on you're desk saying so but it shows how much you're in
the office!â
I took Forest from the car and Luanne went to work helping me set up
the crib I bought, It was roughly a quarter to ten pm when I saw the
beta's truck pull in the driveway, I had told my dad everything, I saw my
dad and Kane auguring at the end of the driveway. Forest was asleep so
I went outside and they both looked at me, I could see both were angry
with each other.
"I would hope that you both would be quite, My son is sleeping and I
would much like for him to stay asleep for a while"
" Quinn, I'm so sorry---"
" Enough, I'm not in the mood to talk I'm tired. I'm going to sleep play
nice for a while."
I went to my room and tried to fall asleep but it was weird without Kane
in bed with me, I got out of bed and walked downstairs to see Kane
and my dad still arguing but much quieter.
"I'd hate to get in the middle of this, Kane looks very tired! I'm going to
take him to bed okay..." I started to fall asleep standing up before I
could hit the floor I was wrapped in warm arms. I felt Kane walking up
the stairs with me before tucked us both in the bed.
