Chapter 12: Chapter 9

The Queen (GXG) (Lesbian Story) (Book One)Words: 50561

The next day

Corinne's POV

It was the morning after the night before and I think it's safe to say I'm exhausted. By the end of the night, Callie dominated everything. She called it, her revenge. I can rightly say that the role-play was a complete success and we most definitely will be doing that again, in the very near future.

I removed Callie's arm from around my waist, making her growl in her sleep. She was too cute. I put on my dressing gown so that I could go check on Corey. It was still pretty early in the morning so he should be asleep.

I walked out of the bedroom and went into Corey's, which was three doors down from ours. Mine and Callie's room was soundproof anyway so we didn't have to worry about anyone hearing us.

I quietly opened his door and smiled. He was curled up in his covers holding his favourite toy; a wolf. Ironic really. I remember when me and Callie took him to the toy store, the very first week he came here so we could get a few toys for his room. He immediately ran to the wolf toy and wouldn't let it go. Callie could've bought him the whole store if he wanted it but he was so infatuated with that one wolf, he didn't want anything else after that. It was cute.

I quietly closed his door before turning around and walking downstairs towards the kitchen. I was wide awake now and I wanted to make some breakfast. Usually Marco was up at this time and always insisted on making breakfast for me but I'm putting my foot down today. Cooking was one of my passions and I've never really had the opportunity to do that here, due to the amount of chefs wanting to do it for me.

They say that as a Queen, I shouldn't have to cook for myself. I disagree. I wasn't born a royal and even if I was, I like to do things for myself, especially cooking.

I walked into the kitchen and sure enough, Marco was sitting at the table. He immediately stood up and bowed to me,

"Good morning Queen Corinne. What would you like for breakfast?"

I smiled at him, "Good morning Marco. I would like to make my own breakfast this morning."

He looked at me confused, "We are here to serve you your majesty, that is our job. Queen Calliria would not be impressed if she found out I let you make your own breakfast."

"Is Queen Calliria your only Queen?" I asked, making him shake his head,

"No, but-"

I raised a hand to cut him off, "But nothing. I am also your Queen and as your Queen I am ordering you to take the day off."

"The day off?" He asked me shocked and I nodded my head,

"Indeed. Spend time with your family. Go horse riding, rock climbing, bowling, whatever it is you like to do, go and do it. I will see you again tomorrow morning. Don't make me catch you in this kitchen today Marco. You are dismissed."

He smiled and bowed, "Thank you your majesty, I don't know how I can show my gratitude."

I smiled, "Go and enjoy your day off. That is how you can show me."

He nodded and bowed again before walking out of the kitchen. I then proceeded to get everything out to prepare a fry-up.

I was halfway through cooking when Callie walked into the room, roughly half an hour after I left her in bed.

She walked up behind me and wrapped her arms around my waist, kissing the side of my neck gently,

"Good morning my love."

I smiled and leant into her slightly, "Good morning. Did you sleep okay?"

"I slept great. Until I woke up and saw you wasn't beside me. Where is Marco?" She asked, moving away from me so she could sit at the table,

"I gave him the day off." I replied, turning to face her.

She raised an eyebrow at me, "A day off?"

I nodded, "He deserves it. He works harder than normal so why not?"

She raised her palms in defence, "I have nothing against it, I was just curious is all. Marco loves his work. Believe me, I've tried to give him a day off multiple times but he always refuses it."

"He said you would be angry when you found out."

She sighed, "My staff fear me. It's how it's always been."

I momentarily turned off the stove so I could go and sit down next to Callie without worrying about burning the food,

"I propose we have a party. Invite every staff member in and around the castle as a thank you. We can make it an annual tradition."

She nodded and bit her lip. She either did that when she tried not to cry or was contemplating something. I was sure it was the latter. Either way, she looked sexy when she did it,

"I like that idea. We'll do that."

I smiled and gave her a kiss. I went to stand up when she pulled me back down onto her lap,

"Don't go yet."

"I have to make breakfast. It will get cold otherwise."

She leant her head in the crook of my neck, "Just leave it. I want something else for breakfast anyway. Or, someone else rather."

I hit her arm playfully, "You and your mind Callie."

She leant back and smiled at me, "After finding out what your tongue can do, my mind is going haywire."

I blushed and leant my head on her chest, making her laugh, "It surprises me how shy you can still get, especially after last night."

"I can't help it."

She was about to lean down and press her lips to mine when Corey walked into the room,

"Mama?"

Both me and Callie turned to face him. He was in his plain blue onesie, holding his wolf toy and rubbing his eyes tiredly. I mentally awe'd at how cute he looked right now,

"Are you okay baby?"

He nodded and came to sit down in the chair next to us. I was still on Callie's lap,

"I hungwy."

I nodded and ran a hand through his hair before standing up from Callie's lap to go and continue making the breakfast. I made enough for all three of us because I knew Corey was going to wake up not long after I did. That was usually always the case,

"Did you have a good time with Benjamin yesterday?" Callie asked Corey,

"Ben nice. I wike him. He take me park." Corey replied, making me smile. He had a huge impact on all of the staff around the castle, they loved him dearly,

"Were you good for him?"

"I good mama, I pwomise."

"Good boy."

I finished up making the breakfast. I plated up the food and placed the first one in front of Corey,

"Thank you mama." Corey said,

"You are very welcome." I replied before placing the second one in front of Callie, who pulled me down to give me a kiss,

"Thank you baby."

I smiled, "You are also very welcome." I said before giving her another kiss.

I walked back over to the counter and grabbed my plate, placing it on the table opposite Callie and Corey before sitting down,

"What is on the agenda for today?"

Callie finished chewing before replying, "We have to do an inventory of the castle armoury. We also have a knighthood to attend."

"Oh really?" I asked curiously, "Who are you knighting today?"

"We are knighting Kiara McCarthy."

I looked at her shocked, "No way. The singer Kiara? She is huge over here."

Callie smiled and nodded, "The very same one. She has done a lot for charity the past few years, more so in the wolf community. I decided a while back to give her a knighthood for her outstanding contribution."

"That is so amazing. You're so cute."

She blew me a kiss across the table, making me smile. All three of us then continued to eat our breakfast.

It took us around fifteen minutes for all of us to finish our food and Callie insisted on putting the dishes in the dishwasher, seeing as I was the one that cooked the food. I looked over at Corey,

"What do you want to do today? Me and mama are going to be busy but I can always ask Drayton to take you anywhere you want."

His eyes widened, "I watch Dwayton twain?"

"Do you want to?"

He nodded, "Dwayton say he teach me how to fight when I big."

I smiled, "I'm sure you'll be an amazing fighter when you're bigger, maybe even better than Drayton."

He jumped up from his chair, making me look at him confused, "Where do you think you're going?"

"I tell Dwayton I be better than him." He said excitedly, making me laugh and shake my head,

"Not until you have a bath and get dressed."

He groaned, "I don't wanna!"

I stood up and walked over to him, "The quicker we do this, the quicker you can go and talk to Drayton. No ands, ifs or buts okay?"

He sighed dejectedly, "Okay mama."

"Good boy. Can you go upstairs and wait for me in your bathroom, I'll be up in a minute."

He nodded and gave Callie a hug before running out of the room. I smiled at him before walking up to Callie, giving her a kiss on the lips,

"I'll be back soon."

She nodded, "I'll miss you." She said, giving me another kiss.

"That was so cheesy." I said in amusement and she smiled down at me,

"Only for you my Queen."

I gave her a final kiss before walking out of the room and upstairs towards Corey. He had an en-suite as well, which made everything a lot easier.

*45 minutes later*

Corey was bathed and dressed and he literally ran out of the room to find Drayton when he was finished. Drayton was like a big brother to Corey which was something Drayton said himself. I found it extremely cute. As well as that, I knew that whenever me and Callie were busy, which was a fair amount of the time, Drayton was always there to help us out, which we very much appreciated.

Me and Callie were now dressed and ready, down in the castle armoury. I'd never actually been there before so this would be my first time. I wasn't a big fan of weapons as I was more of a hand to hand combat person. I took judo, karate, marshall arts, taekwondo and kick-boxing about two years ago. I'm very skilled in all aspects.

Callie scanned her palm and inputted the code, before the door unlocked,

"As a safety precaution, the door will automatically lock us inside, is that okay?" Callie asked and I nodded,

"That's fine."

We walked inside, allowing the door to automatically close and lock behind us. She switched on the lights and I looked around the room in awe, I've never seen so many weapons in my life,

"Woah."

Callie chuckled, "There is a fair amount in here. Collected over the span of fifty years."

I ran a hand over one of the spears before going to pick up one of the handguns,

"Do you know how to use a gun?"

I shook my head, "No. I don't use weapons when I fight."

She raised an eyebrow at me, "I was unaware you could fight at all."

I smirked, placing the gun back on the shelf, "You'd be surprised."

"Well, how about we arrange a fight, me and you on hand to hand combat."

"What will the winner get?" I asked curiously,

"Anything the winner wants, to a certain extent of course."

"Right. So, If I said I wanted to tie you up, blindfold you and, show you a wild night let's say, you'd agree?"

She looked me shocked but bit her lip slightly, making me laugh, "You're seriously contemplating it? I was joking!"

She ran a hand through my hair, "After last night, I wouldn't mind. I surprisingly enjoyed being, submissive I guess."

"We'll just have to wait and see who wins." I stated before giving her a quick kiss on the lips, making her smile,

"I guess we will. You ready to do the inventory?"

I nodded and from there we proceeded to go on with the inventory. Since there were so many weapons in here, it took at least an hour and a half to go through everything, although I must say, it did help to pass time because as soon as we were done, it was time for the knighthood.

Quite a lot of people were here for this occasion actually. Whenever a knighthood occurred, it was a big event in the city and practically the world because it was very rare that anyone got a knighthood. It was a very high honour.

Me and Callie were currently sitting on our thrones. There was a big crowd on either side of the red carpet, waiting for Callie to speak, something she hadn't done yet. I noticed that many people respect and honour Callie as their Queen and I only hoped I could be at the same level she is in a few years.

Callie stood up from her throne, making the whole room go silent,

"Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a pleasant journey."

"Good afternoon Queen Calliria." The room replied,

"On behalf of both me and my wife, we would like to welcome you all to Remington Castle. We are here to witness the knighthood of Miss Kiara McCarthy for her outstanding contribution to not only music, but to charity as well as the community. So, can we please welcome her in."

Everyone rose from their chairs as Kiara walked into the room. I know I was a married woman, a very happily married woman but I couldn't deny that Kiara was extremely beautiful, even more so in person.

Kiara stopped in front of me and Callie, "Queen Calliria. Queen Corinne. It is an honour to be here."

Callie smiled, "The honour is ours. Are you ready?"

She nodded and Callie gestured Giles forward, "Hand the sword to Queen Corinne please."

On the inside I was shocked but on the outside I looked calm. I stood up and walked forward to stand next to Callie.

Giles walked forward and bowed slightly, with the sword outstretched in his hands. I took it and then he then turned to face Kiara and froze,

"Mate."

Everyone gasped, including me and Callie. What were the odds that one of our own soldiers was the mate to the Kiara McCarthy,

"Well," Callie started, "This was unexpected. Once the knighthood is complete, you shall be introduced."

Giles nodded and bowed, "Of course your majesty."

He took a step back to where he was, never keeping his eyes of Kiara. He was smitten with her already,

Callie cleared her throat, "Okay, may the knighthood commence."

Kiara got onto one knee in front of us and I raised the sword above her left shoulder, waiting for Callie to start,

"Kiara McCarthy. A knighthood is a high honour. Do you swear to not use it as an advantage, weapon or leverage. To be proud and thankful for what has been bestowed upon you and swear to continue your dedication to our community?"

Kiara nodded, "I swear."

I slowly lowered the sword, stopping an inch above her shoulder before doing the same to her right shoulder and Callie nodded to me,

"Your knighthood is complete. Very well done." I said, allowing Kiara to stand up on both feet,

"Thank you your majesty."

"You are very welcome." I said with a smile before looking over at the crowd,

"If everyone would like to make their way to the ball room, we shall celebrate in Kiara's honour, who, is also now the mate to one of our finest warriors!"

The crowd cheered before following the guards out of the room and I gestured Giles forward,

"Don't be shy Giles, you are a frontline warrior." I stated amused,

"My apologies, she-she is just so beautiful." He replied, turning to face Kiara, who blushed at the compliment,

"Well, since neither of you want to introduce yourselves, I'll do it for you." Callie said, "Kiara, this is Giles Mason, as Queen Corinne said, one our finest warriors. He is a true asset to the kingdom."

Giles bowed to Kiara, "And Giles, this is Kiara McCarthy, one of the finest singers in the world, and I'm not just talking musically."

I playfully hit Callie in the arm, making her look at me, "What? She is indeed beautiful is she not?"

"Doesn't mean you say it in front of your wife."

She smiled, "Don't think I didn't hear your thoughts earlier, you were thinking the same thing."

I blushed and looked away from her, making her laugh, "Point proven my love."

Kiara smiled at both of us, "You're not as strict or mean in person."

Callie shrugged, "The world has an opinion of me that I do not care to change. As long as my family and friends know me for who I truly am, nothing else matters to me."

She nodded and turned to face Giles, "So, Giles, care to walk me to the ballroom?"

His eyes widened and he opened his mouth to speak but no words came out, he was truly nervous so I gave him a little push,

"He would love to Kiara." I replied on his behalf and he turned to face us,

"Are you certain your majesty? My oath was to serve both of you, do I have your full permission to be off duty?"

I waved him off, "Of course. If you don't walk her there, I will."

Callie gasped jokingly, "You will do no such thing."

I laughed, making Kiara smile and Giles chuckle. He then took Kiara's hand in his, "Thank you your majesty."

I nodded, "Enjoy yourselves and that is an order. Me and Calliria will be there momentarily."

He nodded and led Kiara out of the room so I turned to face Callie, "They will be good together, I can feel it."

She nodded and sat back down on her throne, "How did you feel when we first met?"

I looked at her confused before sitting down in my throne as well, "Why do you ask?"

"I just wonder is all."

I leant back on the chair, thinking back to when we first met, "I was confused at first. I was just a normal girl you know? I never thought, in a million years that I could be mated to a Queen. An extremely powerful one at that. I thought you were beautiful. As soon as you stepped out of the limo, it was the first thing that came to mind. When I fell at your feet, I was scared at first but then I looked into your eyes and I knew you were the one. I loved you but at the time I just didn't realise it."

She smiled, "I felt the same way." She turned to face me and took my hands in hers, "I worship the ground you walk on Corinne. Always."

I smiled and gave her a peck on the lips, "Just as I worship yours my Queen."

She gave me another kiss before standing up, "Shall we?"

I nodded and stood up as well, "We shall."

She led me out of the room, towards the ball room. The two guards beside the door bowed before opening the double doors for us,

"Presenting, the Queens of the wolf world! Queen Calliria and Queen Corinne!"

Me and Callie walked into the room and everyone bowed to us. It was similar to the throne room, just without the chairs in the middle.

We both sat down on our thrones which was the cue for everyone to lift their heads.

I scanned the room for Kiara but came up empty so I stood up, making the room go silent,

"Where is the guest of honour?"

The crowd muttered between each other but no one actually answered. Me and Callie did not go through all of this trouble of a party, just for her not to show up. I knew she was with Giles but for them to completely miss the party was extremely disrespectful to not only us, but to everyone attending,

"Where is she?!" I shouted out but yet again, no one answered. I looked over at the guards, "Go and find her immediately and bring her here!"

They bowed and ran out of the room and I sighed, running a hand through my hair before looking at the crowd again,

"Continue as you were."

Everyone continued to talk amongst themselves and dance to the music playing and I started to pace up and down in front of Callie, that was until she grabbed hold of my waist, stopping me from continuing,

"What's wrong love?" She said, gently moving a strand of hair out of my face,

"We hold a party, in our home, in honour of Kiara and she's not even here. We didn't have to do this you know but yet she disrespected us by not attending. And Giles, don't even get me started on that one, he knows better."

She nodded, "I agree, believe me I do. We'll sort it when they come in yes?"

I nodded and leant my head on her shoulder. She soothingly rubbed up and down my back to calm me down. I heard the doors open and me and Callie turned our heads in that direction,

"Your majesty. We found her."

I nodded and Callie removed her arms from around my waist so that we could both turn to face Kiara, who was holding Giles' hand.

They bowed to us briefly and Giles looked at us confused, "Your majesty. Is there something wrong?"

I raised an eyebrow at him before scanning the crowd, "Clear the room please."

Everyone bowed and walked out of the room. When the doors closed, I looked at Giles again,

"There is something wrong Giles. Kiara stated for you to walk her to the ballroom. The ballroom. Not around the damn castle!"

He ducked his head and I turned my attention to Kiara, "However, it wasn't only him. If you respected us enough, you would've been here when we arrived. This party is in your honour, not mine, not Calliria's, not Giles', yours! And you have the audacity not to show up?!"

She bowed her head, "I apologise your majesty."

Giles stepped forward, "No, she doesn't have to apologise."

I took a step forward as well, "I would know your place Giles. Take a step back."

He hesitated but knew he couldn't win with me so he took a step back to where he was before. I raised my head slightly,

"Don't think because you found your mate I will become lenient because it is most definitely not going to happen. It would be wise of you to know where you stand in this kingdom and stay there. I gave you slight leeway with your mate today but do not take advantage of that. Have I made myself perfectly clear?"

He nodded, "Of course your majesty."

"Good, you are dismissed."

"But your majesty-"

I raised my hand up, cutting him off, "We are done. Dismissed."

He bowed and gave Kiara a kiss on the cheek before walking out of the room. I then turned to face Kiara,

"As you are Gile's mate, we'll be seeing you a lot more around here. I'm going to tell you something." She nodded, "Giles is a huge asset to this kingdom and distraction is the last thing we need. He has certain shifts so please make sure you see him only after his shifts. Although you have two Queens, Calliria's ruling does overrule mine so anything she says goes. Don't argue, don't talk back and when we dismiss you, that is it, as you witnessed with Giles. The party will continue but don't take my kindness for weakness because step out of line once and I won't be so kind. Understand?"

She nodded, "Of course your majesty."

"Good. You are also dismissed." I walked past her and went to the double doors, where I could hear everyone waiting outside. I opened the doors,

"You may come back in. We apologise for the delay."

Everyone walked back into the room and I walked back up to Callie, giving her a hug,

"You did well baby."

"Thank you." I replied, "I hate doing things like that but it was necessary."

"Of course." She leant back and cupped my face in her hands, "Listen, I will approve of whatever judgement you make because I know how level-headed you are. However, in regards to the overruling comment, that is far from true."

"Is it really? You are extremely powerful Callie, more so than you think and no matter how much you deny it, you do overpower me. It doesn't bother me, I'm just saying."

She sighed and leant her forehead against mine, "I don't want to overpower you."

I smiled and gave her a peck on the lips, "It's okay."

She gave me another kiss, one that was longer than the previous one. I smiled against her lips before pulling away,

"You a fan of PDA?"

She smiled and shrugged, "I just like to show our kingdom the love we have for each other."

I gave her a kiss on the cheek, "You're so cute."

She blushed slightly before walking off to greet some of the guests and I laughed. It was rare that anyone got this close to Callie and a lot of people usually asked for her autograph, which is the only thing she accepted within the castle. On the outside, she took photos and autographs but she didn't allow photos within the castle at all, no matter what the occasion was.

I walked over to a few of the guests who bowed, "Your majesty, we were wondering if you could sign an autograph for our daughter?"

I smiled and nodded, "Of course, where is she?"

They stepped to the side to reveal a little girl, around six years old hugging her mothers leg shyly,

"Lia. Do you want to meet Queen Corinne?"

She nodded shyly and slowly looked up towards me. She then moved to me and hugged my legs, making her mum gasp and gently pull her away,

"Remember what I told you Lia, you can't touch the Queen."

"It's fine." I replied before bending down to Lia's level, "Are you okay?"

She nodded, "You're really pretty."

I smiled, "Thank you very much. So are you."

She blushed and smiled, "Thank you. Howcome you're married to a girl and not a boy?"

I could see her mother was about to say something but I raised my hand, stopping her from doing so,

"It's because me and Queen Calliria are mates. I'm sure you've been taught that boys should be with girls and girls should be with boys but it's perfectly fine for girls to be with girls and boys to be with boys."

"I like a girl at my school, can I be with her?"

I chuckled, "Only if she likes you back, remember, it's never nice to force someone okay?"

She nodded, "Okay!" She handed me a poster. A poster of myself actually. A few weeks ago me and Callie did a promo photoshoot, just to show the kingdom our relationship. We also took individual shots which many people around the world have access to,

"Can you sign this for me please?"

I smiled and took the pen she was holding out for me, "Of course."

I took the poster from her and read aloud what I was signing, "To Lia. It was an honour meeting you today and maybe one day, we'll cross paths with each other again. Keep smiling and always be yourself. Lots of love, Queen Corinne."

I handed the poster back to her and she looked at it wide eyes before smiling up at me, "Thank you!"

"You are very welcome."

Her parents bowed to me before walking away and I walked over to Callie, who was talking to two men and a woman and I didn't miss the looks the woman was giving her.

I was very very possessive of Callie, probably more so than Lilliana was with Adeline, which was surprising considering they're wolves. I didn't like people flirting with her or giving her looks, it unnerved me and made me feel insecure, hence why I was so possessive.

Callie could feel this as she looked over at me and took my hand in hers, introducing me to the group,

"Obviously you know my wife, Corinne. Corinne, this is Henry, James and Diane. They're Kiara's friends although I've known Diane for a while anyway but she moved to America until recently."

She smiled at Diana and all three of them bowed to me briefly, "It's nice to meet you." I replied.

"And you your majesty." Henry said.

We spoke a lot from there but every now and then I would catch Diane steal glances at Callie. Callie clearly didn't notice anything as they laughed and joked with each other but I know a crush when I see one, I've had a few before Callie.

Diane liked Callie and I knew it. I most definitely didn't like it. I knew I was married to Callie but I was still insecure about the fact that she could choose someone else at any moment and considering she and Diane have been friends for a while, made my insecurities worse. I couldn't handle it.

I removed my hand from Callie's and walked out of the room completely. I just needed some air and I felt constricted in there.

I walked out towards the front of the castle and sat down on the steps. I put my head in my hands and took a few deep breaths. I then felt someone place their hands on my back. I looked up and saw Callie looking down at me worriedly,

"Are you okay?" She asked and I nodded,

"I'm fine." I replied, making her raise an eyebrow at me and sit down next to me,

"I know you're not. Be honest with me, please?"

I sighed, "Just my insecurities hitting me again."

"I see. You feel threatened by Diane don't you?"

I ducked my head and I could literally feel her shaking her head, "I don't understand. We're married. I love you, not her. You are my mate, not her. Me and her are just friends, that's all we'll ever be. How can you be threatened by her?"

"I don't know!" I exclaimed frustrated, "I don't miss a flirty look. I know one when I see one and you're completely oblivious to it!"

"I'm not oblivious, I just choose not to pay attention to it. I know she likes me, she's told me many many times, before I even met you. However, me and you are together now and she means nothing to me. You are my wife, not her."

I ran a hand over my face, "I know, believe me I know. I can't help it. I always have the feeling that you'll find someone better. It's small but it's there."

She gently grabbed my chin and turned my head to face her, "Listen, I love you and I will say it a million times until you believe it. You are my one and only mate. My one and only love. My one and only Queen. No one will ever be better than you and I don't know what else I have to do to show you that. I will climb mountains for you Corinne. Take a bullet for you and I feel like I've failed as a mate and wife knowing that you feel this way. It's breaks my heart."

She looked away sadly and dropped her hand from my face, "I hate when you feel like this, I hate it!"

She stood up and started pacing up and down, running her hands through her hair. She did that a lot when she was frustrated.

I stood up and walked over to her, wrapping her arms around her waist, "I'm sorry."

She turned to face me, "You shouldn't be. Look, I can't help that women look at me a certain way. I just feel like I haven't done enough to make you see how much I love you." She leant her head on my shoulder, "I don't know what else to do."

I ran a hand through her hair, feeling extremely guilty for making her feel like she's done something wrong,

"I've always been insecure Callie, I just can't help it. Seeing another woman flirt with you just makes me both insecure and possessive. I don't like being possessive over you."

She leant up and looked at me, "I know but all you have to know is that I only want you. I know that women look at me and do you know why I act like I don't know? Because I only love you. My eyes are only on you because you are my everything. I don't need anyone else, why would I when I have the most beautiful woman in the world?" I smiled at her words as she continued,

"Me and you against the world yes?" She asked and I nodded,

"I love you, so much."

She smiled, "I love you too baby. Do you want to go back inside and perhaps show Diane that you're not threatened by her?"

I laughed, "Yeah, let's do it."

She took my hand in hers and we walked back inside towards the ballroom. Callie held my hand the whole way and wrapped her arm around my waist, making me feel even more secure as we walked into the ballroom once again,

"Would you like to dance?" Callie asked me and I nodded, allowing her to lead me to the middle of the room.

A slow song started to play and Callie wrapped both arms around my waist as I wrapped mine around her neck,

"I was thinking of something earlier." Callie said and I curiously looked up at her,

"What was it?"

"About how much my life has changed. I never thought I'd have a wife and a son at twenty. It's amazing."

I smiled and gave her a peck on the lips, "It was fate I think."

I was just about to lean up and give her another kiss when one of the guards came running in,

"Your majesty! You have to come now!"

Me and Callie immediately ran to follow the guard, who led us towards the back of the castle. When we got outside, I gasped at the sight of our son on the floor unconscious,

"Who did this?!" Callie shouted and two guards walked over to us, restraining a man. A vampire.

I ran over to Corey and ran a hand through his hair and Callie walked over to the vampire, standing directly in front of him,

"You come onto my land and attack my son?! How dare you!!"

The man smirked, "It's a pleasure to meet you as well your majesty."

Callie growled and I lifted Corey into my arms, before taking him inside to his room so he was more comfortable. That and I didn't want to witness what Callie was going to do. Trespassing into our territory was one thing but attacking our son was unforgivable.

Calliria's POV

I growled at the man and saw Corinne leave with Corey in her hands. Good. I was going to teach this man a lesson and I didn't want her to see it.

I looked back at the man, "You trespass on my land and have the audacity to smirk at me? Tell me what you are doing here!"

"You'll have to earn that your majesty."

I grabbed his wrist and twisted it, breaking it on the spot. I wasn't here to play games. He screamed out in pain,

"I don't have to earn anything! Now answer my damn question!!"

"My King sent me." He said,

"Why did he send you?"

"That is something I will not tell you."

I grabbed his other wrist, "I've already broken one of your wrists. Do not think for a second I won't break the other one," I leant in closer to his face, "Answer. My. Question."

He scowled, "He wanted to send a warning. The war is coming and it's coming fast."

I nodded and grabbed his neck, tight, "I haven't been called strict and intimidating for nothing you know. You hurt my son, endangered my wife, that is something I will not forgive."

I tightened my grip and only when I heard a snap, did I let go. His body fell to the ground and I looked at the guards,

"Dispose of him properly. Drayton. Come here."

The guards bowed and walked off with the body and Drayton visibly gulped before walking towards me,

"Your majesty."

I cleared my throat, "I trusted you to look after my son and now he is hurt. What exactly were you doing?"

"H-He wanted to play hide and seek."

"No matter how guarded this castle is, people seem to always get in. You were supposed to watch him! Not let him run loose in the forest alone! Your incompetence nearly cost my son his life and your incompetence has just cost you your title!!"

"Please your majesty, I am truly sorry! Please don't take my title! I beg you!"

I gestured towards the ground, "Then do it properly."

He immediately got down on his knees and bowed his head, "Please."

"You make it hard Drayton. What would people think knowing I spared your title after what you did? They'd think I'm lenient, weak. That is something I will not be labelled as. Get up."

He stood up from the floor but kept his head bowed, "I am truly sorry your majesty, I didn't think Corey would be harmed."

"And that is the problem. You didn't think! I trained you to think! To be better! To protect!! You let the Prince get attacked because you decided to let your guard down!! Did I make a mistake when I made you head warrior?!"

He shook his head, "No! I promise, I will do better!"

"Better is not enough. Queen Corinne already gave you a warning when you called us traitors and liars. I will not give you another one. This is the final straw Drayton and I am most definitely not standing for it. I am revoking your title as lead warrior until further notice. You will not lead the sessions and until I deem fit, you will not see my son."

He looked at me shocked, "Corey is like a brother to me!"

"It's a shame you didn't think about that before. Get out of my sight before I make you, dismissed."

He bowed dejectedly and walked away back into the castle. I sighed and quickly made my way back into the castle, up the stairs into Corey's room.

Corinne was sat on his bed, gently running her hands through his hair,

"He'll be fine. I checked over him and he should wake up soon." Corinne said as I walked into the room.

I sat down next to her, "I have revoked Drayton's title and forbidden him from seeing Corey until further notice."

She nodded, "I'm not even going to ask. I trust you."

I leant my head on her shoulder as we both looked down at Corey. Corinne sniffed and I gently turned her head to face me, wiping away the tears that had fallen,

"He'll be okay love. Corey is a fighter and luckily, the attack wasn't too bad. The vampire is not a problem to us anymore."

"He is one of many Calliria. A war has begun and that was merely a warning. There will be more of them and I'm doubtful if King Symmons will give us more than three warnings at least."

I growled lowly, "I think it's time we sent a warning back."

She shook her head, "Fighting fire with fire is a bad move, believe me. We have to think smart and strategise properly with this one because if we don't, we will be the ones that end up losing."

"The only way he will ever stop this war is if I marry his son, or even worse, if you marry his son. Either way, they're both options I will never take. I have more at stake now, more to lose. I have a wife and a son that I need to protect with every fibre of my being and if that means fighting fire with fire, so be it."

She gently cupped my cheek with one hand, "Listen to me. It's a bad move to retaliate like that. Can you just take my word on this, please?"

I looked into her eyes and couldn't resist the pleading look. I sighed and nodded, "Okay okay, fine. You know I can never say no to you."

She smiled and gave me a kiss on the lips and at that moment, Corey started to stir so we both turned to face him.

He groaned slightly before slowly opening his eyes confused, before he laid them on us,

"Hi mama." He said and I smiled. I had no idea who he was addressing so I let Corinne take the lead with this,

"Hi baby," She replied, "Are you feeling okay?"

He sat up on the bed and rubbed his head, "My head hurt."

Corinne rubbed his head gently, "How about, to make you feel better, we can go anywhere you want and get some ice cream later."

His eyes widened in excitement, "Can Dwayton come too?"

Corinne looked at me and I shook my head. I wasn't joking when I said he was forbidden from seeing Corey and I wasn't about to go back on my word now,

"He can't come baby. He's not allowed to see you for a while okay?"

He looked at her confused before turning his attention to me, "Why Dwayton no see me mama?"

"Remember when I told you that Drayton's job is to protect us? Especially you?" He nodded, "Well, he didn't do that and you got hurt."

"He no mean it though. We pway hide and seek. I wanna see him!"

I shook my head, "I'm sorry Corey but you can't."

"Why?! I wanna see him and you no let me! I no like you!!" He shouted and I sighed, feeling extremely guilty but not enough to go back on my word. Corey didn't understand it right now but when he's older, he will.

Corinne spoke up, "Corey. What have I told you about shouting at your mother?"

He ducked his head, "I no do it."

"Exactly. You don't understand it now but mama is only doing what's best for you okay? When we feel like the time is right, you may see Drayton again. Until then, you are not allowed to see him, understand?"

He nodded sadly, "Okay mama." He then turned to face me, "I sowwy."

"It's okay. I understand you're upset okay so I'm sorry as well." I said. He nodded and then furrowed his eyebrows slightly. He did that when he was thinking really hard,

"Can we go akawium?"

I smiled at his pronunciation, he was too cute, "You want to go to the aquarium?"

He nodded, "I wanna see fishy. Wike Nemo!" He stated excitedly, making me chuckle,

"We can go if you want to but me and mama have to finish work. If you go and find Benjamin, who should be outside the maze, we'll come and pick you up in about two hours okay?"

"That long mama, why we no go now?"

"Because me and mama Corinne have to finish working. There are still people downstairs waiting for us so once everything is done, we'll go straight to the aquarium, I promise."

He stared me down for a while and I tried not to laugh, "You super pwomise?"

I smiled and nodded, "I super promise."

He smiled and cheered before running out of the room and I laughed. Corinne smiled and shook her head,

"I guess he's fine after all."

I softly bumped her shoulder with mine, "I told you he would be. Although he's not ours biologically, he was born to be a Matthews-Remington."

"That's true. Do you want to go back downstairs?"

"Well, let's just say I can think of something or someone else I'd rather be doing for those two hours."

She laughed and took my hand in hers, leading me to our bedroom. She pulled me inside and closed the door behind her,

"Lucky for you, I told Giles to clear out the party due to circumstances. As those circumstances have now been addressed, how about we do something else."

I smirked and gently pushed her back onto the bed, hovering over her, "Or do someone else."

She hit my shoulder playfully, "Stop that."

I smiled and leant back, sitting next to her on the bed. She looked over at me both confused and concerned,

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Look, you're probably going to freak out. I didn't tell you before because you were upset but Diane is staying at the castle for a few days until her parents calm down."

She raised an eyebrow at me, "Oh really?"

I nodded wearily, "Yeah, I'm sorry I didn't discuss it with you."

"It's fine, after all, it is your castle. Your kingdom your rules right?"

I sighed. She was pissed off but she had every right to be. I didn't mean to say yes, it's just that Diane has been my friend for as long as I can remember but she moved away to America ages ago and I haven't seen her. When she asked if she could say, I just automatically said yes,

"Not right." I replied and she casted her eyes down slightly,

"You keep saying that it's our kingdom, our castle so on and so forth but then you go and make a decision like that? Look, I understand we haven't been together for that long and you've been friends with Diane for much longer so I have no right to say anything. However, this also became my home the moment I moved in so not asking for my opinion on this was totally unfair and you know it."

"I know I know. If you want me to tell her no then I will."

She shook her head, "Don't you dare use the guilt trip on me. Just don't do it. Your word shall stand."

"If you're unhappy about it, I will do it. I don't like my wife unhappy." I stated sadly,

"Stop that, I hate it when you look at me like that. It makes me feel terrible. She can stay, but know this Calliria. If she even slightly looks at you in a flirty way, if she even breathes in your direction in a way I don't like, I will put her in her damn place. You are mine and I'll be damned if I let another woman take what's mine. Have I made myself clear?"

I growled, she was so sexy when she was possessive. I gently pushed her back down onto the bed, into the position we were in a moment ago,

"Perfectly." I said before placing my lips on hers. We had two hours to kill and I most definitely was not going to waste it.

*2 hours later*

Me and Corinne walked down the stairs hand in hand. Lets just say we definitely took advantage of the two hours we had free.

When we reached the bottom of the stairs, we were met with Diane. I knew this was going to turn out badly. I looked at Corinne and saw her roll her eyes slightly,

"Callie, can I talk to you for a minute please?" Diane asked and Corinne shrugged slightly, aware that I was looking at her for approval,

"Now isn't really a good time Diane." I replied. She then placed her hand on my arm gently and Corinne growled, making me take a step back,

"Please? It's important."

I sighed, "Look, whatever you want to say, you can say in front of my wife."

She glanced over at Corinne briefly, "I'd rather not."

"Okay look, I'm going to go, whether you want to stay or not is up to you Callie but I'm not staying here."

Corinne walked off and I ran a hand through my hair frustratedly. I knew I had to run after her but for some reason, something was stopping me from doing so. I looked at Diane again,

"Please be quick because when Corinne is mad, she's mad for a long time. I have a lot of grovelling to do already so hurry up."

"I need to ask a favour." She asked, making me raise an eyebrow at her,

"I already let you stay here for a few days, don't push your luck."

She shook her head, "I want to ask, can I borrow some money? My parents have cut me off."

I looked back to where Corinne walked off, "We'll discuss this later okay?"

I walked off in the direction that Corinne was and walked out the back of the castle. She was coming towards me with Corey holding her hand,

"Corey, can you go and wait for us in the limo?" Corinne stated. He nodded and ran off into the castle. I gulped as I looked at her stern expression,

"I'm not even going to ask what she wanted, I honestly don't care."

She was about to walk past me when I grabbed her wrist, stopping her from doing so,

"Just listen to me, please."

She turned to face me, "What is there to listen to? You made a choice by not following me. She's been your friend longer than we've been married, I'm not about to come in between that okay? I will not be labelled as the wife that splits up your friendship."

"Stop that! Listen to me! Please!" She sighed and nodded, "I didn't make a choice. You know I will alway choose you. We just had such a nice time, can we not talk about this?"

"No. We will talk about this when we get back. Until then, don't mention her name okay?"

I nodded and opened my arms. She smiled slightly and moved forward to hug me, allowing me to wrap my arms around her for a while,

"We should get going now before Corey starts to get agitated."

I nodded and kissed the top of her head gently before we both walked back into the castle towards the limo.

Corey was extremely excited to go to the aquarium, he could hardly sit still. I was excited for him but I will admit, the only thing that was on my mind right now was the upcoming conversation me and Corinne were to have. That would be the time to get everything out in the open.

*After the aquarium*

The day was over. Corey loved the aquarium and we even got him a stuffed fish toy, which he loved although it would never beat his wolf toy. We got ice cream afterwards and tried extremely hard throughout the day not to take notice of anyone taking pictures, which was hard seeing as it happened the whole time we were out. We've done public shoots but yet people still insist on taking more pictures.

Corey was now in bed, seeing as the day took a toll on him, especially since the weather was a lot hotter than usual.

Me and Corinne were sitting on our bed side by side, our backs against the headboard,

"So, want to talk now?" I asked and she nodded, turning her body to face me,

"Diane could be a very nice person but as of right now, she's a threat. She has such a crush on you it's unreal! The Goddess only knows why considering you're married, with a son now!"

I smiled, "Then why exactly are you threatened?"

"Time is a huge factor. Eight years plus does not equate to half a year, fact."

"You know I was worried about the same thing with Hollie and yet you told me I was being ridiculous. How in the world is this any different Corinne?"

She ducked her head slightly and I knew I had her there, "I don't know. I guess I know how you feel now."

"You have to understand that no one and I mean no one is a threat to our relationship."

She was just about to speak when our door opened unexpectedly, revealing who else but Diane?

Corinne growled and stood up from the bed, "You interrupt us twice in one day? Your reasons better be valid."

Diane rolled her eyes slightly, "I didn't want to speak to you, I want to speak to Callie."

Corinne rushed over to her and grabbed Diane by the neck, "You come into my home and disrespect me like that?! I don't know who the hell you think you are but you better get your attitude together before I do it for you! Have I made myself clear?!"

Diane nodded and Corinne dropped her hand, allowing Diane to get air to her lungs. Corinne threw her crown onto the bed before walking out of the room. I tried to immediately follow after her when Diane grabbed onto my wrist, turning me around and pressing her lips against mine. I was in so much shock that I couldn't move for a while until I came to my senses and pushed her away from me,

"How dare you! Get out of my house!!" I shouted and she looked at me both shocked and apologetic,

"I-I don't know what came over me, I'm so sorry."

"You have an hour to pack your stuff and leave. No more. You better be gone when I check."

I walked out of the room and followed Corinne's scent all the way to her old bedroom. She had her head leant against the wall and I heard her sniff slightly,

"Corinne."

"You kissed her." She stated and I shook my head,

"You know I would never! She kissed me!" I defended.

"It lasted longer than it should have! I felt everything, or did you forget that I could?"

I groaned. I forgot that when you mate, your other half could feel when they were kissing someone else. It felt like a small stab to the heart,

"I was in shock Corinne! When I came to my senses I pushed her off of me and told her to get out!"

She sighed and turned to face me, wiping away a few tears that had fallen down her face,

"I knew that being your mate would be amazing but I also knew it would be difficult. Time after time, women from all over the world flirt left right and centre with you and it's so frustrating!"

"So what?!" I exclaimed, "So what if they flirt with me?! So what if they look at me a certain way?! So fucking what if women have crushes on me?! I don't care about them and neither should you! The only woman I care about is you and until you realise that, I think we should sleep apart. You clearly need your space and as much as it pains me to do this, I think it's for the best."

I gave her a brief smile before walking out of the room. I was hoping she would follow me but unfortunately she didn't. I now know how she felt when I didn't follow her earlier, it was horrible. I walked into our room and took my crown off, throwing it onto the floor somewhere. I didn't even care anymore. I had many replacement crowns so it wasn't a problem, I was just so frustrated.

I lay on the bed facing the ceiling and closed my eyes. Today was tiring in itself but Diane just continued to ruin everything that me and Corinne had built up. I had finally made her see that she didn't have to be insecure and then Diane came along and started flirting with me and we were back to square one.

Corinne was extremely insecure in public, I knew that, most people knew that. It was a different story when it was just me and her though, especially in the bedroom but every now and then she asks me whether or not she makes me happy. At first I found it confusing but she only asks that to reassure herself. Every time, the answer is the same; yes. She makes me more than happy and I just wish she could see that for herself.

I was just about to drift off to sleep when I felt an arm go around my waist, immediately making my eyes widen. I jumped away unconsciously thinking it was Diane but breathed a sigh of relief when I saw that it was Corinne,

"Sorry, I thought you were Diane."

I lay back down on the bed and she lay next to me, looking me directly in the eyes. I could see the apologetic look she had,

"I'm so sorry Callie, I realise how stupid I was being."

I yawned slightly, "You don't have to be sorry. Can we talk about this in the morning? I'm really tired and I just want to hold you tonight."

She smiled and nodded, giving me a peck on the lips before laying her head on my chest,

"I love you." She said, making me smile,

"I love you too Corinne." I replied, before closing my eyes.

We were going to have that conversation tomorrow and I would do everything in my power to make her see that she has no reason to be insecure. I wasn't leaving her side until she does.
