Jo's POV
As I finish getting ready for school I hear commotion downstairs. I come down to Luke yelling at Sookie, as she and Lorelai give out orders.
"What is this?" Luke asks her.
"We had a fire," she states.
"Fire, where?" Luke asks her again.
"Weston's bakery," Sookie says, coming back out of the kitchen.
"You're kidding!" he exclaims.
"They'll have fresh blueberries," she finishes.
"Perfect. Um, Weston's. Hurry," Lorelai tells one of the people carrying a grocery bag, which she takes from them.
"Weston's caught fire?" Luke asks.
"No, the inn," Lorelai replies.
"Your inn?" Luke asks.
"Oh, my god!" I reply.
"Just move all of Luke's stuff aside. We don't need it!" Sookie yells.
"Hey, wait a minute," Luke says.
"Everyone's fine. The inn is still standing. We're into phase two," Lorelai states.
"What is phase two?" Luke asks again.
Phase two is her making breakfast, which turns into her cooking for the inn customer and ours. Luke leaves her to take over and hides upstairs.
I quickly get to work helping with anything I can. Serving all the customers, bussing tables, and even helping Sookie. Rory was across the street with all of the kids doing a sock puppet show.
We help up until we both have to leave for school.

It's decided that everybody who was supposed to stay at the inn another night ended up being lodged by various people around town.
A family came back last minute, putting Lorelai out, so she stayed the night with us. I lay in bed and listen to them talk.
"Oo, wow, total deja vu," Lorelai says.
"Really?" Luke asks.
"It's the alarm clock. It had a dream once that you set 18 alarm clocks to get me up, which is not a bad way to get me up," she says.
"Where were we?" he asks.
"We were, um, at my house. I got up, and went downstairs for coffee, and you talked to my stomach," she tell him.
"Why on earth would I do that?" he asks.
"Well, because I was pregnant. Twins," she replies.
"Mine?" Luke asks.
"What am I, dream tramp? Of course yours," Lorelai replies.
"We were married?" he asks.
"Um, yeah. Did I not mention that?" she asks.
"No," he says.
Then silence for a few seconds.
"You know, you shouldn't drink coffee when you're pregnant," Luke says.
"Yeah, true," Lorelai replies.
"That's probably why Rory's a caffeine addict," he tells her.
"Right. You're right," she says.
"Dream go beyond that?" he asks.
"No. Um, you talked to my stomach, and then you ki- Ah, no," she replies.
"Oh, okay. Well... night," he says.
"Yeah... night," she replies.
Jess gets home a little while later. Luke is already out. I don't know about Lorelai. He changes for bed.
"Hey," I whisper as he sits on the edge of his bed.
"Hi."
"How was work?" I ask.
"It was work. How was dealing with everything here?" he asks.
"Fine Busy," I reply.
"I stopped at the Kim's to say hi to Rory," he says.
"How'd that go?" I ask.
"Cricket bat," he replies.
"Sounds about right," I reply.
--
Luke and Sookie manage to find a balance between the two of them. Jess comes down.
"Morning," Jess says when he sees Luke.
"You're up early," Luke tells him.
"Gotta catch me that worm. See ya," Jess replies.
"Where you off to?" Luke asks.
"School," he states.
"This early?" Luke asks.
"I got a lab project going on. Me and my team are meeting early," Jess says.
Jess has completely stopped skipping school. Now that he sees college is actually an option he has decided to finish by going all out.
Going everyday, doing all of his homework, actually doing his group work, so I know what he's telling Luke is true.
"Well, have a good day," Luke says.
He seems happy.
"If I have a choice," Jess replies.
He walks up to our table.
"Hey," he says, and gives Rory a kiss.
"Good morning," Lorelai says.
"Talk to you later," he tells Rory, who smiles brightly at her.
"Later," she replies, and I give him a wave as he leaves.
Lorelai's phone rings and digs in her purse to find it.
"By the way, your boyfriend snores," Lorelai tells her daughter.
"Didn't need to know that," she replies.
"Luke does too, just so you know," I add.
"Didn't need to know that either," Rory says.
"Hello? It is? Oh, I love you. I love you. Thanks. We're open," Lorelai states, standing up.
"Ladies and gentlemen, can I have your attention, please? That was Chief Baker on the phone who told me in that deep, sexy voice of his, the inn is officially reopened," she announces.
Everyone claps.
"Uh, right now it's just me and the staffers, but soon, very soon, you will have your stuff back and you can go home," she says.
"Thank you, Lorelai. Listen, from our group, we want to give you this."
One of the guys says, handing her a raven thing.
"Oh, well, that's the nicest dead bird I've ever gotten. Thanks Fred," she tells the guy, Fred, taking the raven from him.
She hates it.
"It's from all of us," another guy says.
"Right. Thank you, Poe society. Coming, Sookie?" Lorelai asks.
"I'm coming," Sookie says, and then gives Luke instructions on how to finish breakfast.
"Don't burn anything. Go it," he replies, pretty much ignoring her.
"I've got to change for school," Rory says.
"I need to leave too," I reply.
"Go, go. We'll see you later," Lorelai says.
"Lets go," Sookie says, and we all head out.
