Jo's POV

I showed Jess the envelopes and we opened them all together. He got into all of the schools he applied for, as did I.

Except for one.

That didn't really phase me much because I was too happy about the schools I did make it into.

We told Luke and he freaked out. He was so excited and happy Jess and I were worried he'd explode.

It's the next morning and I come down to the diner to see Rory and Lorelai, and Luke dealing with Kirk. I walk up to their table.

"What's with the list?" Luke asks after Kirk leaves.

"You ready? My Rory, our Rory, Stars Hollow's Rory, got into Harvard, Princeton, and Yale," Lorelai says.

"Wow! Wow! I can't believe it," he replies.

"That's awesome, Rory," I say, giving her a quick hug.

I drop my backpack on the floor and sit next to her.

"I feel like..." he bends down and wraps his arms awkwardly around her head, hugging her.

"Oh, okay," she replies.

He pulls back.

"Well, I'm not good at hugging," he tells her.

"Oh, I thought it worked," she replies.

"Thanks. Man, this is big, right?" he asks.

"Very big."

"I have news for you too," I tell her.

"What is it?" Rory asks.

"Well, I don't know if this will affect your pro/con lists, or not, but... I didn't make it into Princeton," I tell her.

"Aww, I'm sorry Jo," Lorelai says.

Rory looks as if she is about to say something sympathetic as well until it looks as if something clicks in her head, and I smirk.

"Wait. You didn't get into Princeton..." she says.

"Nope," I reply.

"But you got into the other two?" she asks.

"Yep," I reply smiling.

"You got into Harvard and Yale!" she yells.

I reach over and put my hand on her shoulder.

"We got into Harvard and Yale," I tell her.

She pulls me into a hug and we squeeze each other.

"What's with all the pro/con lists?" Luke asks as we pull away.

"That's how we make our important decisions. You know that," Lorelai replies.

"But you know what it's gonna be. Harvard," he says.

"Probably," Rory replies.

"But not necessarily," Lorelai adds.

"But Harvard's all you've talked about for years," Luke says.

"Well, who knew she'd be wanted by everyone?" Lorelai asks.

"Hey, which school best teaches you how you make an important life decision without doing a stupid pro/con list? Whichever one it is, add it to the pro column," Luke says.

"Do not mock the scientificity of our selection process," Lorelai replies.

"Oh, and there's something else. I was able to talk Jess into filling out some applications. He refused to fill out any for ivy leagues, but did for a few community colleges close by, and he got into every single one," I tell Rory.

"Oh, my god! That's amazing!" Rory exclames.

"I know, but don't let him know I told you. I kind of want to do something special for him. Not a lot of people, just who's important," I tell her.

"I think that's a great idea. I'll help you out later," Rory says.

"Well, I've gotta head to school," she says, getting her things.

"Same," I add, picking up my bag.

"Hey, why go anymore? You're in college. Let's go truffle hunting, or something," Lorelai says.

"Maybe after we graduate," Rory replies, with a smile.

"Alright, but if all the good truffles are gone, don't say I didn't warn you," Lorelai replies.

"Bye," Rory says.

"Bye, Luke. Bye, Lorelai," I say.

"Bye," they both reply.

Rory and I walk out together and give each other a wave as we split paths.

Lorelai's POV

"I can't believe how great that is. All three," Luke says.

"Well, they have good taste. And Jo, getting into Harvard and Yale."

"I can't believe it. All three of them, off to college soon," he adds.

"I know, and Jo is right, you should do something for Jess, for both of them," I tell him.

"You think so?" he asks.

"Definitely," I reply.

"Jess will hate it," he says.

"That's a plus," I reply.

Jo's POV

At school I told Dean about me getting into Yale and Harvard, and he told me he got into Southern Connecticut State. I'm so happy for him. It's also one of the schools Jess got into.

Now that they are on good terms it would be nice to have my boys close together. Also, if one, or both of us end up going to Yale it's literally up the street.

After school we went to Miss Patty's for the Poe Society performance. We sat through both Poes reciting the entirety of The Raven.

I sat with Dean in front of Lorelia and Rory. Across from them was Luke, who had brought Nicole.

Lindsay was sitting across from me and kept sending over glares, and dirty looks. According to Rory, Lorelai is getting the same attitude from Nicole, that I'm gettin from Lindsay.

I don't like Nicole too much, but she hasn't done anything, so I haven't told Luke. If he really likes her I don't want to be the reason he leaves her.

At the end we catch the Gilmores outside.

"Hey, guys," Dean says.

"Oh, hi," Rory replies.

"So, uh, congratulations on Harvard," he tells her.

"Thank you," she replies.

"I got into Southern Connecticut State," he adds, smiling.

"That's great!" she says, grinning.

I squeeze his hand and smile up at him. Then Lindsay walks up.

"Mom, this is Lindsay," Rory greets.

"Hi," Lindsay replies.

"Hi. The Mark Twain magnet girl," Lorelai says.

"The what?" she asks.

Rory tells the story and it's awkward.

"She usually tells it better," Lorelai says.

"I kind of remember. Well, I gotta get home," she says, and looks up at Dean.

"I'll see you later," she says, giving him flirty eyes.

She walks away and he looks shocked. I can't help but laugh. He looks at me.

"Why does she do that?" he asks.

I look over my shoulder and watch her walk away.

"I don't know. Maybe because she thinks I won't stab her," I reply.

He chuckles and wraps his arm around me.

"Well, I better head home," I say.

"And I better take her, so we'll see you guys," Dean adds.

We all say goodbye and Dean walks me back to the diner.
