Jo's POV

Lorelai, Rory and Sookie are talking about something and Sookie is freaking out. I can't really hear them because I'm working my tables on the other side of the room.

When Luke goes up to their table is when I finally walk up.

"Hey, want about Luke?" Sookie asks.

"What about him?" Luke asks.

"He eats, Jess and Jo eat. Doesn't Jess eat? You eat," she says looking at me.

"Yes?" I reply.

"What's she doing?" Luke asks Lorelai.

"I think she's inviting you for dinner."

"Yeah, come on, join us. It'll be fun. You like peacock pie?" Sookie asks.

"I'm 100 persent sure I don't," Luke tells her.

"There'll be normal food too," Lorelai tells him.

"And decorations," Rory adds.

"And music," Sookie adds.

"Come on. It'll be fun," Lorelai encourages.

"Well..." Luke says thinking.

"Please?" I ask him.

They make plans to invite everyone she Lorelai tells Luke to spread the word.

"Hey, I haven't said I'd come yet, so I'm certainly not gonna become your messenger boy."

At the same time Lorelai and I both give him a pout. He takes one glance at my brown eyes and then her blue and it immediately breaks him.

"8 o'clock?" he asks.

"Seven," she replies.

"Right," and he walks off again.

--

"Deano."

"Hey, Lane."

"Hello, Bean."

"Hi, Jo. Are you guys going to this big shindig at the inn tonight?" he asks.

"Yeah, I'm just trying to trick my mom into not going with me," Lane replies.

"How's that coming along?" he asks.

"How's that Pixies reunion coming along?" she replies.

"I managed to talk Luke into going. Well, more like I pouted until he said yes."

"Well I'll see you and your mom, and you and Luke there."

"Bye," she says before leaving.

"Bye," we both tell her.

We were going in the same direction, so we continued on together, until I heard a voice I  recognized. Jess. Him and some guy start shoving each other.

"Whoa, hey, guys!" Dean yells running up to them.

"Guys, come on, break it up!" he yells again.

"Jess, Stop!" I yell.

He throws a punch.

"Quit! Hey, hold it, man!" Dean says, trying to pull him off.

"Get off him!" I yell.

Dean pulls Jess back and Jess goes for him. He gets Jess off him.

"Jess, knock it off, man."

"What the hell is your problem?" I ask.

"Nothing," Jess replies.

"You saw it was me, Jess! Why'd you keep punching?" Dean asks.

"I had momentum."

"You're an ass," I mumble to him.

"Well, I was helping you," Dean tells him.

"I don't need you help, but thanks for offering," he walks off.

"Hey, I'm sorry, man," I tell Dean.

"Don't worry, I wasn't your fault," he tells me.

"He gets this way sometimes. It's not you, I promise."

"Alright," he says with a sigh.

"I'll see you tonight."

I walk to the diner. I might just murder Jess.

--

When I get there Jess isn't. When he does show up all I did was hit him once with a pillow. The three of us get our stuff and head to the inn.

I didn't have anything nice to wear, so Rory gave me a red swing dress she wore at her grandparents' a couple Christmases ago. Both of the guys had on nice button up shirts and their normal jeans.

As we walk in we give all of our stuff to the bellboys. I see Rory talking to Dean, so I walk up and give her a hug.

"I'm so happy you came," Rory says.

"I'm glad to be here, I can't wait. It's gonna be fun, and thank you again for the dress."

"It's nothing, and you look good in it."

"Thank you. Hi dean."

"Hey. Oh, I told her about earlier," he says.

"Oh, yeah. Again, I'm sorry."

--

I go up to check out our room. It has two beds, but they were queens, so Jess and I can share. I go back to the lobby and watch everyone chat while I just sit.

"Hey everybody will you gather around?" Lorelai asks, coming into the room.

"First or all I want to welcome you to the first annual and probably the never-ever-to-be-held-again-because-Sookie's-on-the-verse-of-a-nervous-breakdown Bracebridge Dinner," she says.

"I'm fine, everything's fine," Sookie says.

"I also want to thank Mother Nature for snowing in the Trelling Paper Company in Chicago, so I could throw this great party for all my friends instead," Lorelai says.

"It's a very special night, and so, since I don't get to eat unbelievably strange food with my friends every day, I've arranged a little surprise. Outside as we speak is a line of horse-drawn sleighs, and everybody gets a ride," she continues.

Everyone cheers. I look at the boys, and they both look bored.

"So line up. Keep in order. There's two per sleigh, and no cutting in front of each other. That goes for everyone... except me, 'cause I'll be damned if I'm gonna miss a ride in a horse-drawn sleigh," Lorelai says.

"You gonna go?" Luke asks Jess.

"I think I'll wait for the clog dancing," he replies.

Dean gets pulled away by his sister. I see Jess smirk at Rory, which she doesn't notice. He's planning something.

Lorelai was with Luke, Dean had Clara. I was able to catch Paris and we rode together. We didn't talk much, just enjoyed the ride.

It was good to see her relax. At dinner I sat between Luke and Jess.

"What's the white stuff?" Jess asks.

"I think it's cheese... or cream," Luke replies.

"And the green stuff?" I ask.

"I think it's best picked off," he replies.
