Chapter 14: Chapter 13: A 3,000 Year Old Legend

Ghost Love (Leo X Angie) TMNT 2007Words: 7619

The other turtles, Splinter and Angie, were enjoying some pizza for dinner, unaware of what happened to Casey, Raph, and Skyla.

"Mmm. My compliments to the chef. Le-" Mikey said, then let out a loud burp, disgusting the others.

Then he asked. "Anyone for dessert?"

"No," Donnie, Leo, and Angie replied.

"Yes," Splinter answered.

"Is Mikey always this revolting?" Angie asked Leo.

"Sometimes," he replied.

"Hey," Mikey whined.

Then the phone rang, and Donnie answered it.

"Cowabunga Carl Party Services. Cowabunga, dude," he said.

"Raph's hurt. You need to get over here right away," April's voice said really fast.

"Whoa, slow down, April. What happened to Raph?" Donnie asked.

"I don't know. He's unconscious. And we have a little girl named Skyla here. She asked for you to bring her sister," April explained.

Donnie sighed and answered. "We'll be right there."

"What's going on, Donnie?" Angie asked.

"Raph's gotten hurt, and Skyla's with him at our friends' place," he explained.

"Skyla's WHAT?" Angie was shocked.

A few minutes later, they arrived on the fire escape and came through the window. Casey was sitting in a chair backwards, Skyla was holding Raph's hand, and April placed her hand on his shell.

When she looked up to see the guys and Angie, she saw Leo was with them.

"Leo. You came back," she smiled.

"Leo," Casey greeted.

"Sorry the reunion isn't under better circumstances," he said.

"Skyla!" Angie ran over and hugged her.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"I'm fine," Skyla answered.

"Whoa. Nice pad, kids. Oh hey, Raph?" Mikey said.

Angie saw April and was amazed. "Oh, you're the girl Leo was talking to back in the jungle."

"You saw us talking?" April asked with a surprised smile.

"Yeah. I'm Angelina, Angie for short," she smiled.

"I'm April," April smiled.

"And I'm Casey," Casey added, shaking her hand.

Donnie kneeled down and rested his finger on Raph's neck.

"Well, his vital signs seem to be okay. Pupil dilation is normal," he said, looking in his eye.

That's when they noticed the object in Raph's shell.

"Whoa," Donnie said.

"Whoa," Mikey and Leo added when they noticed.

Using some forceps, Donnie got it out of Raph's shell and examined it.

"Some sort of stone. Probably obsidian, I think. But I can't tell since it's in half," he explained.

"Well, is he gonna be alright?" Leo asked, checking on Raph.

That's when Raph was waking up, grumbling as he smacked Leo's hand away. "You're still here? Go back to your jungle."

"Well, at least his personality's still intact," Leo smirked.

"Hey, Don, this one is whole. Maybe you can get something from it," Angie said, grabbing the star and giving it to Donnie.

"Thanks, Angie. There's an engrave on it. Looks South American. That's your department, April," Donnie thanked, then responded.

April got up and looked at it carefully.

Casey leaned forward, holding the tranquilliser dart, and asked. "Would it help if I told you that those statues you collected for Winters guy were shooting these at me, Skyla and Raph?"

"'The legend of Yoatl'. It can't be. It was just a myth, a scary story the locals told kids around a campfire," April mumbled, then said.

"Wait, what are you talking about?" Leo asked.

April stood up, holding the star, and explained. "They say 3,000 years ago, some great warrior actually found a portal to another dimension. And when the portal opened, the energy from it gave the warrior eternal life. But it also turned his generals to stone. What if this warrior just kept living forever? He would spend the rest of his days in regret, spending all of his riches and all of his power to find a way to revive his stone generals. Maybe, just maybe, he's built a new empire. But, hey, like I said, it's just a myth."

"Well, after what we saw, it looks like more than 'just a myth'," Skyla remarked, sitting in Donnie's lap.

"You make a good point, Sky, but how are we going to stop them?" Angie asked.

"I don't know, but we'll figure something out," Leo answered.

"If you ask me, guys, this has Winters' name written all over it," Donnie said, examining the dart.

"How do you figure that, Donnie?" Skyla asked.

"Yeah," Mikey and Casey added.

"Because this has Winter' name written all over it," Donnie repeated, meaning it was literally written on it.

"Now I know who to thank for the shot in the arm. So where do we find this guy and his stone jokers?" Raph wondered, holding his arm.

"We're not going anywhere until we get Splinter's blessing," Leo said sternly.

"You're gonna stand there and quote a rulebook to me that you ain't been following for a year? Oh wait because you've been too busy taking care of your girlfriend!" Raph demanded, standing up, then yelling, pointing an acusing finger at Angie, scaring her quite a bit.

"Don't blame Angie for this, Raph. And if you got something you wanna get off your shell, now's the time. But I'm not gonna stand here debate Splinter's direct orders with you," Leo argued, protecting Angie.

Raph stood there, glaring at Leo. He had had it with him. This was the last straw for him.

"Fine, then. I quit," Raph said then walked to the window and was ready to leave.

"Hey, Raph. Don't do it, man. Sometimes just taking a breather is the best thing to do," Casey explained.

Raph sighed and muttered. "Whatever."

He walked out and headed up the fire escape.

Skyla began to cry and she hugged Donnie as he hugged her back.

"Are you really gonna let him run off by himself like that, Leo? I mean what if he gets killed out there?" Angie asked, worrying for the turtle she grew to love as a brother.

"He just needs time to think things through," Leo said.

Angie sighed and held his hand in hers. "Leo...I know how it feels about a broken family."

She looked at Skyla, who had turned her tear stained face to look at her, and shut her eyes. "I felt like I was lost when Skyla and I lost our parents...I suffered so much all alone."

Leo's expression went too shocked and was slowly going to sad. The others were watching complete silent. They gasped as Leo's eyes started sparkling.

"When I met you, I thought I was drowning. But you've made me feel so alive...and all I want is to be near you...together," Angie said smiling.

Leo felt his heart flutter. He had loved Angie when he first laid eyes on her the first day he arrived in Central America. A tear fell from his eye.

Donnie, Mikey, Casey, April and Skyla were shocked to see this. Leo sniffled and wiped his tears away with the back of his hand.

"Whoa...That's the first time I've seen Leo cry," Casey said in astonishment.

"Yeah...Donnie and I were usually the ones to cry, but not Leo, he's never cried," Mikey agreed.

Skyla giggled and said. "He must have been an easy kid growing up."

April got up from the couch and put a hand on Leo's shoulder. "You alright, Leo?" she asked softly.

Leo sniffed and responded. "Y-yeah, April...w-we need to take Angie and Skyla home now. It's getting late."

Donnie came up to them while carrying Skyla in his arms. "He's right...Skyla needs her sleep."

He went out the window with Mikey following him.

"Leo? Was it something I said?" Angie asked in a nervous tone.

"No, Ang...I just...got a...a little emotional. It's nothing," Leo returned, taking her in his arms, bridal style.

Then he went out the window.

Casey and April watched their friends leave with worried faces. This was indeed crazy.

"Poor Leo," April said quietly, looking toward the floor.

"Hope everything turns out fine," Casey hoped.

A/N Angie just told Leo how much she cares for him! OMG! And Leo's just shed his first tear. Plus, will they get Raph back?
