Chapter 564 Finding the safe in the room wasnât hard, Laura had stashed it in the closet of the dressing room Agnes had already hollered at Nate remotely.
In less than five minutes, Nate had remotely cracked the safeâs code Agnes was a bit nerves. She didnât have too much time.
She had sneaked in while the nanny was busy changing bed sheets.
The room was going to be locked up soon.
Agnes quickly eyeballed the stuff inside, there were a lot of jewels and bling, and some contracts and paperwork.
But Agnes couldnât find the money transfer receipt she was after.
Agnes didnât have time to ponder, she quickly tidied up the stuff, put it back in the safe and bolted out of the room.
As soon as Agnes stepped out, she ran into Kevin.
Kevin had just seen Agnes coming out of Lauraâs room.
One hand of Agnes was still on the doorknob, she got the jitters.
What a coincidence, she was caught redâhanded.
Kevin gave Agnes the onceâover, âWhat were you doing in Lauraâs room?â
Agnes smiled, âI came to see Ms. Laura, but she wasnât in.â
Kevin chuckled, âI noticed you go in. You were in there for 12 minutes. Did it really take you that long to figure out no one was there?â
Agnes frowned, âAre you spying on me?â
âNot spying, just curious.â
After a moment of silence, Agnes broke into a grin, âKevin, you would keep this secret for me, right? Weâre friends after all.â
Kevin raised an eyebrow, âWe just met yesterday, Ms. Agnes.â
Agnes kept on smiling, âIâm friends with Justin, and given your relationship with Justin, we can be friends too.â
Mentioning Justin, Kevinâs face changed instantly, âYou know Justin?â
âWeâre pretty tight. I even know his private cell number.â
Agnes thought to herself, âSorry Justin, I had to throw you under the bus.â
Kevin was silent for a moment, then said, âDeal.â
Agnes didnât propose any deal, but they both knew the score.
Kevinâs gaze softened a bit, âIf youâre looking for something valuable, Ms. Laura keeps all her important stuff in her office safe, not here.â
Kevin was sharp, he had guessed her intention.
Agnes said, âThanks for the tip.â
After parting with Kevin, Agnes planned to head back to her room.
Her cold seemed to have gotten worse, her head was buzzing.
She didnât find what she wanted, she couldnât stir up more trouble.
Just as she reached her room, Beatrice came out of hers.
Ironically, for the past ten years, when she was at the Pritchard family villa, her room was opposite Beatriceâs.
And now, Beatriceâs room was opposite her guest room.
Seeing Agnes looking sick, Beatrice felt a perverse sense of satisfaction.
It was Beatrice who had Hammer put Agnes in the attic with no air conditioning or heating.
The blanket she gave Agnes was thin.
Agnes spending the night in the chilly attic and not getting sick would have been strange.
Beatrice walked over and said, âAgnes, if you have any sense, youâd leave and go back to where you came from. Stop causing trouble.â
Of course Beatrice wanted Agnes to leave.
As long as she was around, Jaredâs heart would be occupied by her.
Agnes just smiled and said, âYou want me to disappear without a trace like I did four years ago?â
