Chapter 781 An Unexpected Discovery

During the conversation, Gideon casually mentioned a term related to

architectural design. After saying it, he realized that Charlotte might not

understand it. Just as he was about to explain, Charlotte naturally continued

the conversation, showing no signs of confusion.

Not only Gideon, but Lena and Joe also noticed this and looked at her.

Charlotte looked at them puzzled, “What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me

like that?”

Lena hugged her excitedly, “You understood what we were talking about!”

Only then did Charlotte realize that she had effortlessly understood every

technical term they had mentioned, without any difficulty!

“Maybe this could stimulate you and help you regain your memory!” Lena said

excitedly, pulling Charlotte’s hand, “From today on, I’ll come here every day to

be with you! We can help you recover!”

Before Charlotte could say anything, Gideon frowned, “You can’t! I’ll come

every day!”

“Why can’t I?” Lena frowned.

“You just got out of the hospital, remember?” Gideon’s face turned gloomy.

When a person who usually wore a warm smile suddenly turned stern, it was

quite surprising; not only Lena but even Charlotte was taken aback.

“Hospital?” Charlotte looked worriedly at Lena. Although she had just met

Lena, she had an instinctive liking for her. Hearing that she had been to the

hospital, Charlotte immediately became concerned.

Lena blushed and gave Gideon an annoyed look but didn’t insist on coming to

accompany Charlotte anymore.

“She’s pregnant. She fainted when she heard that you went missing and later

found out,” Gideon said candidly, “She wanted to see you as soon as she

heard you were back but couldn’t come until now because the doctor wouldn’t

discharge her.”

Pregnant?

Not to mention Charlotte, even Joe looked surprised at Lena’s flat stomach.

Lena was first embarrassed for a moment, then she openly showed her belly

to Charlotte, “It’s just a little bean; you can’t even tell.”

“Is it your child?” Joe gave Gideon a meaningful look. No wonder he had

been so cautious, following Lena all along. It turned out he was worried she

might fall.

Gideon pursed his lips, and his eyes carried a hint of disappointment as he looked at Lena, “But she rejected my marriage proposal.”

“Enough,” Lena quickly stopped him, even rolling her eyes at him.

Charlotte then spoke up, “Proposal? Is it because of the child in her belly?”

Gideon was stumped by her question, unable to speak immediately.

Watching his reaction, Lena dispelled her disappointment and said to

Charlotte, “Don’t worry about him; the child is mine alone, and he has nothing

to do with it.”

Charlotte’s clear eyes carried a penetrating gaze, “But you obviously care.”

Lena flushed and quickly changed the subject.

At this moment, Gideon looked thoughtful as he stared at Lena.

Was that the reason she had been refusing to accept his proposal?

He thought about his own feelings and realized that he didn’t want to marry

Lena just for the child. In fact, he didn’t care whether Lena had the child or

not.

What he really wanted was Lena herself, not just the mother of his future

child.
