Chapter 703 We Didnât Do Anything Wrong
The woman was taken aback, immediately trying to relentlessly grab and pull at
the man. The man, of course, wouldnât let her succeed easily. Seeing a potential
fight brewing, Charlotte had no interest in being a bystander.
âJust a moment ago, when she was angry, you didnât stop her. Now, thereâs no
need to put all the blame on her,â Charlotte coldly interrupted the man. âIf my
children have truly disturbed you, I will apologize. But if youâre looking for an
excuse to cause trouble, I assure youâll regret your actions.â
Charlotte gave the man a warning look. âYou should know I have the means.â

The man nodded repeatedly, saying, âI understand, I understand. We just had a
little argument earlier, and she directed her anger at your children. Weâre truly
sorry.â
Only at this moment did the woman finally realize she had picked the wrong
battle.
She forced a smile and said, âI was impulsive just now. I apologize.â
Charlotte had no intention of digging any deeper. She merely cast a faint glance
at them before walking away.
After Charlotte left, the woman glared fiercely at the man and demanded, âWho
is she? Why are you so afraid of her?â
The man shot her an annoyed look and snapped, âSheâs someone we canât
afford to mess with! From now on, keep a low profile. If you get into trouble with
anyone again, weâre getting a divorce!â
âHow dare you talk about divorce with me?â The woman, who had just calmed
down, flared up again, and the two of them plunged into another round of argument.
In the original private room, William looked slyly at Joe. âTheyâre making quite a
scene over there. Arenât you going to protect your wife?â
âMy mom doesnât need protection! My mom is the most formidable in the world!â
Before Joe could respond, Anna proudly puffed out her little chest and said.
Ben nodded in agreement from the sidelines, his eyes filled with concern as he
looked toward the door.
Coincidentally, Charlotte returned at that moment. She gently patted Benâs head
and whispered, âItâs all sorted out now. You werenât scared, were you?â
âNot at all! We know we didnât do anything wrong; those people were just
causing a scene,â Anna confidently declared.
Charlotte smiled and playfully tapped her nose. âYouâre right. As long as we
havenât done anything wrong, thereâs no need to be afraid.â
William watched the entire process of Charlotte teaching the children and couldnât help but express his admiration, âI never expected Joe to be so lucky,
finding such a great wife.â
He could clearly see that Ben and Anna had been taught very well.
Despite this little incident, it didnât affect their enthusiasm for buying the island.
The auction began shortly, and Ben and Anna fixed their eyes on the auctioneer
below, afraid of missing out on something good.
Seeing the two little kids so anxious, Charlotte made a decision and said to
them, âSince weâre here at the auction, you should participate too. Each of you
can pick something you like, and Daddy will get it for you.â
Anna immediately cheered and looked expectantly at Joe.
Although she knew her dad usually wouldnât refuse her momâs requests, she still
wanted to hear his agreement.
Without hesitation, Joe nodded, âOf course, we can.â
Now, Ben and Anna paid even more attention, their two little heads huddled
together, discussing animatedly and occasionally pointing at the items in the
catalog.
