As soon as these words were spoken, the few people who had been arguing immediately stopped.
Wendy looked at the torn dance costume in Charlotteâs hands, a hint of mockery in her eyes.
âYou only have twenty minutes until your performance, and you still need to host...â she said, the mockery in her eyes becoming more apparent. âAre you sure you can sew this dress in such a short time?â
It was almost impossible. But Charlotte insisted, âOf course. If | canât do it, | wonât participate in the performance, and it won't affect anyone else, will it?â
Her gaze swept over the performers in the same program, and everyoneâs face showed a hint of embarrassment.
Just as Eva had said, Charlotte had spent a lot of time practicing during the program rehearsals, helping them.
Now that she had made her point, it would be unkind for them to refuse.
âAlright then,â someone volunteered, agreeing to Charlotteâs request.
This time, Wendy didnât interrupt again. After all, in her opinion, Charlotte simply couldnât repair the dress in such a short time.
Before they could respond, Charlotte had already taken out a needle and thread and started sewing carefully.
What they didnât know was that Judyâs company had recently collaborated with a clothing workshop, and out of curiosity, Charlotte had spent some time there. She had learned quite a bit.
To prevent any malicious interference, Eva had been protecting Charlotte the whole time, not giving others a chance to see.
Even when Charlotte went to host the event, she would stay by the dress.
In Wendyâs eyes, this was just a last-ditch effort.
Twenty minutes passed quickly. Just as Wendy was about to urge Charlotte to give up struggling, Eva suddenly exclaimed with delight, âItâs done!â
âThis is impossible!â Upon hearing Evaâs words, Wendy subconsciously exclaimed.
She simply couldn't believe that Charlotte could have repaired the dance costume in such a short time.
But the fact was right in front of her. The dress in Charlotteâs hands was intact, and although one looked closely, one still couldnât see any traces of the repairs.
âHow did you...â Wendy was almost in disbelief, but the discussions of her classmates reminded her to suppress the urge to scream.
How could a wealthy heiress like Charlotte know how to sew?
Seemingly sensing her doubt, Charlotte smiled faintly. â| happened to have been studying at a clothing workshop recently.â
Wendyâs face was almost frighteningly stiff.
âAfter this performance, itâs your turn to go on stage!â
Charlotte quickly changed into her costume and walked to the front of the dance performers.
As the music started, Charlotte gracefully stepped onto the stage.
