What If It Comes True?

Huo Buyu’s expression darkened. “Try cursing me if you dare.” What annoyed him most was Ye Yao’s frivolous attitude in exercising her jinxing ability. Ever since she had this capability, it had been impossible to control her. This morning, the sky was clear, but it suddenly started to drizzle. He was sure it was Ye Yao’s doing!

Standing there observing, Gao Qiao felt that there was something strange about the interaction between Huo Buyu and Ye Yao. This was the first time the two met. Ye Yao was stumped.

The more Gao Qiao listened to this, the more he felt that something was amiss. How was this love at first sight? They had known each other for a long time! F*ck, had he been tricked?

Only then did Huo Buyu remember that Gao Qiao was still around. He briefly explained to the man what had happened and said at the end, “Stay away from Ye Yao in the future.”

Ye Yao also reminded Gao Qiao, “Don’t be too much of a scumbag in the future. What if you met a girl you really like? You’ll only lose her because of your scumbag deeds.”

Huo Buyu shouted, “… Shut up!”

Only then did Ye Yao realize that she was a jinx, and even though she obviously meant it as a kind reminder, it might unintentionally come true… She felt a little guilty, but when it came to illusory things like relationships, her curses shouldn’t come true, right? With this thought in mind, Ye Yao felt relieved. Upon returning to the villa, Huo Buyu, who had been fine, suddenly picked her up and threw her onto the sofa. “Tell me, were you the one who caused the drizzle this morning?”

Huo Buyu sat down beside Ye Yao with a solemn expression. “I’ve recently investigated your family. Is there a rule on your mother’s side of the family that states ‘do not speak thoughtlessly’ or ‘talk less’, something along those lines?”

Ye Yao was stunned for a moment before shaking her head. “I’m not sure.”

“Then you may wish to ask when you have the chance,” Huo Buyu suggested.

Ye Yao agreed to this. If the jinxing ability ran in the family, it was better to hear it from the elders than for her to slowly figure it out alone.

Huo Buyu thought about what Ye Yao had said to Gao Qiao just before they parted ways. He flicked her forehead angrily. “Be careful what you say in the future. You know your own capability. What if it comes true? Gao Qiao and I grew up together. As buddies, I don’t want him to suffer too much.”

Ye Yao said, “Don’t worry, the jinxing ability may not work on something like this. You know that my curses come true sometimes, only when physical objects are involved. Emotions are illusory, it’s impossible for the curses to work on things like that.”
