Qin Jiao almost went crazy with anger. “Ye Yao, who do you think you are?! Do you think Huo Buyu will really like you? Who is he and who are you?! You won’t be smug for long! Just watch how I’ll deal with you the day Huo Buyu doesn’t want you anymore!”

Ye Yao retorted, “Unlike you, who can’t even keep a man by your side, you can keep waiting to see if Huo Buyu will break up with me…”

To put it bluntly, the man that Qin Jiao was so desperately trying to snag was the same man that Ye Yao wanted to shake off. However, from the looks of it, there were advantages to not dumping Huo Buyu. She could use the situation to provoke Qin Jiao!

Qin Jiao wished she could rip Ye Yao’s mouth apart! She had always looked down on that girl, but now the wretch was actually dating Huo Buyu! How could she not be angry?! Ever since she was young, the person she hated the most was Ye Yao. When she was young, she often bullied Ye Yao through Ye Yao’s mother! Ye Yao liked to draw and dance, and Qin Jiao would insist on going for lessons too. After that, she demanded of Ye Yao’s mother to pull Ye Yao out of the classes! That was why Ye Yao was so angry when she saw Qin Jiao in the capital and realized that Qin Jiao was Huo Buyu’s ex-girlfriend! However, when she realized how submissive Qin Jiao was towards Huo Buyu, her anger vanished. What was this? The tables had turned!

Ye Yao said in a faint tone, “I came to the imperial capital this time to reclaim my mother, so by all means, punish her when you get home. Pick on her and make her dislike the atmosphere at home. That way, she’ll come back to me willingly.”

Qin Jiao was very angry, but she didn’t know how to refute the girl. She just felt that anything she did would be wrong. Not only that, but her entire body was in pain, and her knees felt like they were about to break. She had never been so miserable all her life!

Qin Jiao glared at Ye Yao fiercely. “You’ll pay for this, I guarantee!” Then, she held her knees and limped out.

Ye Yao wanted to laugh when he saw how miserable the arrogant eldest daughter of the Qin family was.

She returned to the house happily. Huo Buyu was reading through some documents on the sofa. When he saw that she had returned, he waved at her. Ye Yao obediently walked over and leaned against his shoulder. She even bit his neck. “Scumbag!” She was still angry about Huo Buyu being Qin Jiao’s ex-boyfriend!

Huo Buyu was already very used to being bitten for no reason. He pulled Ye Yao away from his body and into his arms. He pinched her nose and asked, “Now, can you tell me about the conflict between you and Qin Jiao?”

Ye Yao puffed up her cheeks. “Qin Jiao’s father kidnapped my mother!”

Huo Buyu was stunned for a moment. He searched his mind for an image of Qin Jiao’s stepmother and shook his head. “There’s no resemblance between the two of you.”

“It’s good that I don’t look like her,” Ye Yao muttered. She clung on to Huo Buyu and wheedled. “I used to live such a miserable life. Dad didn’t dote on me, and Mom didn’t love me. Anyone could bully me, and they didn’t allow me to resist. I had to endure everything in silence. Dad would say that I was in the wrong, and Mom would say that I shouldn’t have done this or that. I felt that I couldn’t do anything right.”

Huo Buyu’s heart ached, but he said stubbornly, “With your temper, who would dare to bully you?”

“You! You bully me every day!” Ye Yao pinched Huo Buyu’s face. “You bully me every day. You control me so strictly. I want to protest!”

“Objection is invalid.” Huo Buyu knocked Ye Yao on the head. “A few times today, you said things you shouldn’t have. Reflect on that!” Huo Buyu was actually taking care of Ye Yao for her own good. Her ability was too mysterious. If she were to be discovered, someone might take her away to be studied.

Ye Yao glared at Huo Buyu. “Fine! I’ll reflect in isolation! You’re not allowed to come in!”

Huo Buyu was almost immune to Ye Yao’s temper. He didn’t know why the young lady had such a short temper. He turned on the room’s surveillance camera to see what Ye Yao was doing. He didn’t want her to harm her own health by being so angry. And in the end?! She was lying on the bed and playing video games happily!

Huo Buyu was exasperated, but seeing Ye Yao’s slender body curled up on the bed and playing video games happily, he felt very calm. As long as the girl was in his line of sight, he felt very at ease.
