Chapter 12
âMom, no!â
Ignoring everything else, Elisa immediately ran to the ward.
Beatriceâs face was covered in tears.
This morning, she gradually regained consciousness, eager to see Elisa as soon as possible. She knew Elisa would be thrilled to know she had woken up. Suddenly, she saw the news on TV and learned about everything her beloved daughter had endured to save her.
She didnât expect to burden her most beloved daughter like this! If she had known, she would have ended her life when she found out she had such a disease. She would never have burdened her daughter.
All she wanted was to see her daughter againâ¦â¦ Just once.
Elisa went up to the ward and there were already many staff members guarding here.
However, she didnât dare to provoke her motherâs emotions and didnât dare to go any further.
Elisa looked at her motherâs back, it was so thin that even a smaller hospital gown looked big on her.
Her mother was just a few steps away from her, as if in the next second, she would be separated from her forever, and her heart hurt so much that she couldnât breathe.
Tears fell freely.
She took a step in that direction, trying not to startle her mother.
She walked to her motherâs bedside, picked up the fruit knife from the table, and aimed it at her own neck.
The police were horrified by Elisaâs actions, their faces turning pale. Why would this girl hold a knife to herself? Now, two women were attempting suicide!
âMom?â She said softly, her voice trembling and tearful, and Beatrice immediately turned her head when heard her daughterâs voice, seeing Elisa holding the knife to herself, as if the sharp blade would pierce her neck in the next second, her pupils contracted.
âPut the knife down,Elisa!â She shouted at Elisa, using all her strength.
âMom, why do you want to leave me? Are you giving up on me too? Where are you going? Iâll stay with you, okay? Donât leave me alone, okay?âElisa pleaded softly, tears uncontrollably falling.
âElisa, I promise, mommy isnât going anywhere! Mommy will come down now! Donât move!â Beatrice was emotionless, and all she wanted was to protect her daughter.
She couldnât let her daughter get hurt!
A team member immediately rushed forward and pulled Beatrice back.
âSave my daughter! Save my daughter!â Beatrice took the team memberâs hand and pleaded loudly.
Charles quickly stepped forward and grabbed the fruit knife from Elisaâs hand, and even he, who had been,

Chapter 12
Beatrice sat beside the bed and looked at her beloved daughter with aching heart.
Tears falling disappointingly.
Itâs all because of her!
Elisa had just married a vegetable!
Elisa walked up to her mother and hugged her.
âMom, stop crying, are you trying to kill me?â
âItâs you who wants to hurt mommy to death!â Beatrice hugged her daughter tightly.
Elisa, donât treat my illness anymore, just divorce that vegetable. I donât want you to make this choice for me! Suelen, that wicked woman deliberately hurt you! How could you trust her so much to let her push you into the fire! She wouldnât give you a penny! I didnât even know you begged Jorge, how could you beg him so humbly? Mommy would rather die than let you beg him!â
Elisa just patted her motherâs back gently.
She made no sound as she wanted her mother to vent her emotions.
She suppressed all her hatred, afraid of agitating her mother again, but she would never let Suelen escape!
Beatrice finally calmed down, and Elisa took her motherâs hand and explained softly.
âMom, even though Robert is unconscious now, he will definitely wake up.â
âDonât try to comfort me, Elisa, I know Iâm the reason you got into this.â
âNo, itâs not that. The Fischer family treats me very well, and I donât think itâs bad to marry into such a family,â
âWhatâs the point of the Fischer family treating you well? The key is that this person is named Robert Fischer, and if he doesnât wake up, youâll be stuck with a vegetable for the rest of your life?â
âWhatâs wrong with taking care of a vegetable? People like Robert Fischer are very
honest.â
âEliza!â Beatrice was speechless.
âMom, we donât need to worry about the surgery now. My motherâinâlaw said she would arrange for you to go to the capital for surgery. She will take care of everything.â
âAll of this is in exchange for your marriage.â
âDonât let your imagination run wild, mother. My motherâinâlaw is very good to me. I am married, but I am no different than I was before. Anyway, I never wanted to get married. It doesnât matter to me if I marry a husband like this and he never wakes up again.â
âWhat kind of family are they? Are they from here?â
âNo, they are from the capital, but since Robert is in a followâup hospital here, they are all here, but their family background is very good.â Beatrice was still very uncomfortable, but she no longer had any. intention of committing suicide.

âMother, you have to be okay, because you are all I have. If anything happens to you, I will have nothing left in this world.â
âIâm sorry, Elisa, I promise I will never do it again.â
In Robertâs ward, after Mrs. Fisher left, Dr. Smith inspected Robertâs ward again as usual.
âStill not awake? Focus on the data from last night and this morning, there should be a reaction, right?â Dr. Smith asked the patient, who made no movement.
Dr. Smith continued to focus on the examination and, after recording all the data, slowly turned her head, and suddenly, her whole body jolted.
A pair of cold brown eyes stared solemnly at her.
âRobert?!â she called timidly.
âAre you awake?!â
