Chapter 6: Chapter 6~ You have always been mine

Falcon’s POV~

Tonight is the ball and I have to go to Colorado today. The Rockie Granite Pack has been having problems with some rogues. And one they have captured reportedly is a former member of my pack. When I told Anna…she seemed so sad..but resigned! I told her I was going to do my best to be back in time. I won’t make promises..she refuses to accept promises because then Karma plays a factor. I know..don’t ask me!

The house looks beautiful! She has done a phenomenal job and I am so proud! Brady will remain home..to appear in my stead…We need a senior rank to welcome any visiting Alphas. In my selfishness, I pray none of them are Anna’s mate. And, if I am completely honest, I want her. I am in love with her! I have known it for a couple weeks now…and I think she can feel it.. but I don’t want to say it out loud.. I don’t want her to feel torn, should she find her mate!

And speak of the devil..she walks into the office..like a ray of sunshine..and says “You need to leave! Two hours there..one hour to kill some people and two hours back..puts you home at 7…and I will allow an hour to play with! If you are not walking into the ballroom by 8 pm, I am coming for you!” I drew her into my arms..laughing..”I have my orders! I will arrive in time!” She smiles “I have hung your tux in your room..and just so you know..your tie matches my dress!” And giggling…she skips out the office! Yep! This man is all twisted up inside over a tiny woman with fantastic eyes and silver hair!

Pulling up to this pack house has me nauseous! It has to be the ugliest place on the planet. A mixture of stone and aluminum siding.. Two huge wolf heads on either side of the entryway…and yellow…baby shit yellow paint! The whole place. If I was a rogue…I’d attack too! And burn it to the ground! Dear Goddess!

Alpha Gregor greets us..as I tell my ten warriors to take a look around and check defenses.. This place is giving me an ‘iffy’ vibe and I really don’t want to kill anyone today… we’ll see! Axel links me saying there’s something off with this place and it’s not the decor. I turn to Gregor.. and say “Take me to see this rogue. I have a previous engagement,I put on hold to see about this. What did you say his name is?” I’m answered with “Tom” I am annoyed! I ask “Tom? That’s it? You called me here because some random dude tells you he was a part of my pack and his name is Tom? Take me to him! If I find you are trying to play me, I will raze this entire pack!” I link the warriors to meet me at the cells!

Entering the cells…I have two of my warriors with me….leaving Axel at the guards station in the front… passing cell after cell…empty…I stopped! I linked Axel..”knock the guards out and take them out front! Stand guard at the door. This is a trap and we are not playing! “

I demanded “Gregor! I am not sure what you think you are pulling…but I am not the one to play with “ He sputters “I’m not sure what you mean” and I punched him! Threw him in a cell and called my pack! Brady picked up right away…”Double the border patrol…all warriors to the ready! This is a trap and I have no idea what’s happening yet. We take no chances and update Anna…ask her to get all our nonfighters to the saferooms!”

Gregor is waking and he blusters “Falcon.. I don’t know what you’re playing at..but you better release me!” I grinned and asked “Where’s your Tom? Why isn’t a rogue in your cells? You fucked up, Greg…may I call you Greg? Who told you it would be a good idea to fuck with me? Who led you to believe your pathetic little pack would be safe while I was here…with you sending warriors against me? Do NOT lie to me! You barely have 20 warriors here…and I am betting they are your least experienced.. which means..your most experienced are headed somewhere..to attack someone…and you requested my presence here..it raises doubts as to your reliability…See where I’m going with this? Better start talking!”

He was literally shaking..he kept repeating “it’s all a misunderstanding..it’s a mistake.. please.. I will call them back…They only left twenty minutes before you arrived. I was told it would be an easy task! They paid me a lot of money “ and I screamed “WHO paid you? And do NOT fucking lie to me!” He squeaks “I don’t know!! I don’t Know! It was handled electronically! I was told it would be an easy takedown. I was to get you down here and locked in a cell.. then they would negotiate with your pack to release you for a girl.” I watched him for a few minutes.. then I said “You fucked up! Big time!” I linked Axel…”gather those pathetic warriors and bring them to the cells.. lock them in! We are leaving!”

I sneered “Your warriors die today. The forfeiture of not researching whom you would be attacking…Of not knowing your enemy! I hope the money was worth leaving your entire pack vulnerable and at risk of takeover! Rest assured I will find who instigated this entire fiasco! Enjoy the rest of your day!” And I walked out into the fresh air.

Axel came out from locking the warriors in and I said…”Shatter the lock on that door. Let them pray someone shows up to get them out before they perish! Maybe their women and children are resourceful!” I called Brady on my way back to our cars “I am heading home… approximately 50 warriors from this pack are heading your way. Kill them all! Someone is playing games that they have no chance of winning!’ Do not hesitate! We don’t need prisoners…they don’t know anything worth extracting..anyway. I am headed back! See you in a couple hours! Call me when it’s done!”

I tell Axel “Gregor was approached by email! He was paid by electronic deposit! I want you and Anna on it! Hack the computers here…see if you can trace where these correspondence initiated… Apparently…someone has gotten some erroneous info that we are to be trifled with! Time to set the record straight!”

My phone rings and Brady say “56 warriors charged our border 38 minutes ago. Everyone perished within 15 feet of breach! Anna killed 8…the final 2 because her 6th kill broke one of her nails…that she had just gotten done for the ball…and it pissed her off. Her words! And that woman is a literal tornado in a firestorm!” I laughed and asked him if everything will be set for the ball and was informed everything is on schedule! I said we will be home in about 45 minutes!

Arriving back at home, the party looked to be in full swing and we could hear laughter..even over the music. I smiled…thinking ‘my birthday girl went above and beyond!’ We hauled ass up the backstairs and I grabbed a quick shower..slicking my black hair into a tight manbun and got into my tux…and my tie…the color of the Caribbean sea! I know the color I’m hunting down!

I walk down the stairs slowly…looking for my girl…An amazing scent of fresh rain and jasmine fills the air.. and I stop..just for a moment..to breathe it in.. My eyes haven’t stopped moving…I am praying fervently to the Goddess…Please Goddess..let that scent be my Anna and, as if my prayer were heard. And answered! All in that one moment in time… the crowd parted..and a vision..in a Caribbean blue satin strapless..fitted gown…with a slit on the left..from the floor to her hip…stood the most beautiful creature on this great green earth… and she smiled. She smiled the most beautiful smile I have ever seen and she flew at me! I caught her and we spun from the impetus of her leap. She kissed me! She locked her lips on mine and kissed me…like I have never been kissed…then she pulled back..still smiling..and said “A first kiss for the ages…Thank You! Thank You for my first kiss! Thank you for being there for me! Thank you for being MINE!!” And I leaned in…I kissed her again…and told her “ You have always been mine!”
